I honestly don't understand why Stranger Things gets such a bad rap on this channel. I have 18 pins in my collection and it's one of the few that constantly keeps me coming back for more. I actually think it's one of the most underrated pins ever. I've played everything from the classics to modern Sterns. Great content as always. I'll admit, I myself have to pass on this Led Zeppelin pin. Keep up the awesome work Cary!

I bought my first new pin back in 2010, it was a Dark Knight. I paid 4300 Euro for it. I bought an HUO POTC not much later. If you see how packed that pin was, i don't think i ever seen a pin after it, that had more, or even the same amount of toys etc... on a pro. Recently i checked for a TMNT pro, it was 6300 euro. That's crazy when you think i bought my first LE (called just premium back then) which was a TRON for 5900 euro. Now Stern asks 10.400 euro for an LE. I stopped buying pins after the Star Trek LE. Which blew me away after seeing it's total package. Still costed me 7950 euro. Now i on occasion rent a flipper or buy a used on, to sell it back down the road when i'm tired of it. Pinball has been a big piece of my life, started when i first played a TAF on location, but ended when Stern got way to expensive, and worst of all, the quality dropped over time on too many pins from them. Still wondering how long this can go on? To be honest i thought this would be unsustainable by now. But i was wrong. Still think it has to give sometime.
Once you get a chance to play the LZ-Premium...I'll be looking forward to your video on RANKING (from Bad to Best) the Stern Music Pins - AC/DC, KISS, GNR, Beatles, Metallica, LZ, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden (?) and Rolling Stones.
When you look at an Avengers Pro, Jurrassic Park Pro, TMNT pro and then look at LZ there is no comparison on value for the dollar..look how packed those games are compared to LZ, same feeling for Black Knight Pro, its a fun game but it feels bare
After seeing all the time and effort that went into the collaboration between JJP and GnR on that machine, it makes me wish that JJP had done Led Zeppelin as well. I bet we'd have gotten a 1,000 times better machine.
Stern is just phoning it in anymore. so sad. I guess accessible means the ball can touch it? Idk. Im so disappointed in stern. They need to up their game. JJP GNR on the other hand looks well worth it. By removing that wireform its like they are testing how stripped they can make a game and people will still buy it.
Could you buy a replacement wireform from a premium and just install it onto the pro? Then, connect the switch from that lame standup target to activate when you hit the ramp. I still don't get the partitioning of actual playfield features. The playfield should be modular so you don't have to upgrade the entire pin. Premium/LE should focus on superficial stuff like powder-coating, mirrored BG, extra illumination, larger display. The current trifecta of pro/prem/LE feels like it needs a category where it's a pro model without compromise. Any arcade that is getting new releases ain't going to settle for a pro model. If they do, it's with the thought of upgrading. I don't understand why they didn't use the old time Hurricane spinning backglass if they wanted to go with the Zeppelin III theme. These old time stadium bands would actually benefit from true DMD displays. The attract screen could have custom stuff that says "Led Zeppelin performing (your location) TODAY!". One of the ramps should go to the Misty Mountains, a fully sculpted toy like on Getaway which would return the ball on a Whitewater swooping insanity falls ramp. Where the hell is a Bron-Yr-Aur cottage toy somewhere in the northeastern part of the playfield? Don't even get me going on these modern games having such wimpy and unmemorable callouts JJP is one of the biggest culprits too. Those games all have these low intensity callouts and zany sounds. In fact why do most modern games sound like Pinball FX? Hell, they also cherrypick other things from them as well. Look at any table from FX3 that got a Stern version later. Marvel/Jurrasic Park/Star Wars.
I love this game. My local game does have the upper flipper ramp though. Great video. Couldn’t you strip any game and you wouldn’t know what the game is about, lol. I do like how you can have multi balls ready and almost stay in multi ball the entire time. I like how you can have the song mode and tour multi ball mode working at the same time.Subscribed today👊🏼

I went out and bought a Premium. Beautiful pin, terrible "quality" control. Sold it, picked up a pro, added a few mods to my liking, and LOVE it! No where near the problems the LE/Premiums have.
I agree totally with this review. i got a chance to play it for a while last week, and Cary nailed it with what he said at the beginning "you are just going though the motions". Music is good, of course, but the playfield lacks things i would call interesting. Best i could say is that it felt like i was playing a much older pinball (maybe cause of the layout), but i never felt that satisfaction of accomplishment (and i did get the top 3rd score on it, and a couple of achievements).
With all the code updates, Stranger Things is actually a great pin and I own the pro and the family and I love it. Early code killed it unfortunately, but people are finding out that STh is actually a really good game. Won’t leave my collection anytime soon. Wife and kids won’t let me.
Played a pro on location and now I'm buying a Premium for the exact reasons Cary stated. The 3rd flipper shot is ass and easily drains which SHOULDN"T happen. You should not get penalized for hitting the hardest shot in the game. Imagine if you hit the SNIKT in Deadpool and you bounced off it and drained most of the time. The really GOOD thing about Zep is there's no "OH THATS BULLSHIT" moments. Like hitting a standup that just shoots the ball straight down the middle, or hitting a post that shoots the ball perfectly at the outlane at light speed on purpose. This game flows very well, is fun to play, and has the best music in pinball.
It would prove that stern has a sense of humor if when you made the shot w/o the wire it played "can't get no satisfaction" from the rolling stones when you hit it!!!
Careful Cary, you're giving Stern ideas. 1. Select your basic layout. 2. Select your theme. 3. Select your financing level. Honestly, that would be pretty cool. Say you love the layout of Deadpool Pro, but you're not a Deadpool fan. You just select the bare wood playfield/cabinet and then select Led Zeppelin as the theme that slapped onto it. I know this is not realistic because the code would not match the shots, but maybe they could make a generic pin, with multiple themes you could choose from. 1 layout, 3 different themes and code to match. Stern saves on R&D. They just code it 3 times and theme it 3 times.
You can shoot the middle ramp with the upper flipper! I bought the pro a month ago... actually I like how it plays. But yes the artwork on the cabinet is absolutely boring and terrible.
Love my Stern pinball machines and I'm a huge fan of Led Zepplin. I figure when I get to play a premium maybe we will see what I think but I was underwhelmed with the theme integration (none) and the pro playfield is bare like the home star wars pin and it looks boring IMO. Look at the Pro series pins like Deadpool, Jurassic Park, Star Trek, AC/DC, Metallica, Iron Maiden, all much better theme integrations with a lot more on the playfield. I get that Stern doesn't have competition YET and so they think they can lower that bill of materials and raise prices exponentially because they can only build so many and demand is high but Gary Stern is being GREEDY AF here. Look at the quality of JJP and prices of the basically "premium" models and you can see Stern is being greedy here. If Gary said hey, I increased all my employee's salaries and gave them good vacation and leave which is why my prices are going up OKAY... but he's not and prices are insane compared to when a Lord of the Rings came out.... crazy packed for like $3700 today a Pro delivered in cali new with tax is just shy of $7k /rant

Played the new Led Zep locally twice and wasnt impressed. went right back to JJP GnR. JJP GnR is like being at a rockshow vs Sterns LZ is like watching a youtube rockshow. Iron Maiden wass way better in theme integration and gameply than LZ.

I am consistently confused why licensed games are always the most popular in pinball. It's like remaking TV and Movies: why not an original theme? It's cheaper! Make uo your own theme and add 5 extra wireforms or whatever. Look at classic pins: medieval madness, whitewater, circus Voltaire etc...

Stern is #1, so they get the most hate. They also tend to give us bare bones when it comes to mechs. Some games are better than others.

Game is absolutely Phenomenal, wow i was way wrong, Its just incredible if set up correctly with larger flipper coils and extra fan cooling

Agreed Led Zep is a fairly bad effort all around , i wanted it to be great . ( seems very very stripped down and way to basic for a modern pin )
So yes, the pro is garbage. The premium and LE are great. Better than GnR. But I’m still out on music pins.

I’m a huge Zepp fan and Stairway being their best song is highly debatable. Most mainstream popularity, sure.

But i totally agree with the led Zeppelin opinion & pretty much all the band based pins to me are unappealing I don't want a foo fighters, or guns & roses - elton John or queen pin in my game room they would look terrible in there lmao! those pins belong in a record store or a big fanboys music room imo! we could listen to that music whenever if we wanted to! no reason to buy a whole pin based off of just led Zeppelin! not saying anything bad abt their music btw jimmy page is a insane guitarist!

Still don't understand why people buy these absolute crappy stern pins, especially the pro's. And we don't need more music themed pins, actually any licensed themed pins at all. And some of these pins are the same as other sterns. What a ripoff.
This feels like music today, sounds like the same thing over and over. Cookie cutter. Stop giving these people money and they'll wise up.
I am consistently confused why licensed games are always the most popular in pinball. It's like remaking TV and Movies: why not an original theme? It's cheaper! Make uo your own theme and add 5 extra wireforms or whatever. Look at classic pins: medieval madness, whitewater, circus Voltaire etc...
