Lived in Sebastian for 2 years, 1992-1994. Moved back to NY for various reasons. Planned to return when retired. Well, retirement is a little over a year away. While there are a couple of other towns on our list for retirement, every time we drive through, Sebastian still feels like home.
im from california and im thinking to move to sebastian, the insurance i don’t think is a problem, here in california is too much , we pay almost for the air we breath and now they are thinking to regulate pools in houses because the poor resource of water we have here , so thats fine for me if insurance is about 3k a year

How much would say insurance is going for nowadays? Flood insurance here in Montana in the Yellowstone region is getting costly, almost as much as the property taxes which are high in this area. Considering coastal Florida in next 2 or 3 years.
Flood insurance is about $600-$900 year. Regular home insurance is running about $1,300 on the low end and goes up from there depending on the condition of the home and age of roof/ electrical.

I hope to move this coming Oct. any further advise would be awesome. Thanks and keep the videos coming. maybe lower the background music a touch, seems to overpower some of your worlds. but awesome awesome content.

Sebastian is hard to beat! I travel around the state pretty often, and love that I get to call Indian River County my home!

What about real estate taxes for Sebastian compared to Vero Beach?
The assessed valuations tended to be lower in Sebastian when compared to Vero. Also, we are both paying the same county taxes to Indian River County.
