Universities do not need to be near industry. I had a university across the map from my industry zones and all the industry buildings had a high tech level. It matters about the educated sims working at the industry buildings.
He said, just to have one in the region, meaning just one of the cities. This was an awesome point since I was having trouble getting students in the beginning.
Yes, the zone of effect that shows up is for the improved land value, effecting density. I was unaware that the college and university competed and that the one takes students from the other.
If you have bus stops on the same side of every road, the bus needs to do a full lap just to get to the next street... you need to alternate the side of the road the bus stops are on to entice that zig-zag pattern of the buses.
Thanks. Very helpful. It's wild to have such a complex game with no real instructions. It's great to learn by trial and error... If you have the time and patience. I was going broke with my college. Now I know why.
Can two different cities contribute to the same great works project? Like for example if you had a city specialised in oil and plastics, and another with alot of ore, metal and alloys, could they send those resources seperately? Or do i have to import anything i don't have in my one city, and export it all together?
His wrong about wher to place you eduction buildings. it doesn't matter wher to place them! you can even lace them on the opposite side of the map and it will still work. it all has to do with the people who go to school there and then go working after they are gruaded.
Question: I'm extremely new to the game (I've been playing SimCity for only a couple of days) and I set my first community college down in my town and now my industry tech level is rising. What sort of trade depot do I need to establish for these buildings?
I think it only apply to community college. When you plop down the college the industrial zone gets happy but not for the university. So college in industrial zone and uni in residential zone.
In reality Universities gain scientific understanding because of grants given to professors that work at them. It has nothing to do with students learning about science. While the game portraits the reality accurately some people (like this IGN editor) don't seem to realise how it works
Can anyone tell me how to freaking supply the processor factory with alloy and plastic? I got multiple trade depots importing alloy and plastic along with multiple coal and ore mines along and smelting factories yet the processor factories can't get enough material!
If you check my channel, i try to make this work by using the education facilities of another city instead of putting everything in the same city. It's still a bit bugged right now though !
my electronics city is weird. i have to import all the alloy and plastic for the tvs and computers and processors, which costs like 65,000 per 1000 crates of each. then i lose 61,000 in hour in revenue, due to all my services. but i make around 2.5 million a day, so i make 1M in profit. if anyone has a suggestion on how to alleviate my hourly wage hemorrhaging, i would like to know what it is.
It's funny how we laugh at other languages not knowing how they really think. Like to the Chinese when we say, "two men are walking" makes no sense to them and when they say it, "two man are walking" is because the number of men are already given so why say, men? I mean, our language is complicating even to ourselves. Other languages seem funny to us because they've been around longer and are more simple, no need to waste time with extra words and such.
I don't understand something about the techlevel, I don't have an university (2nd-city) but all my industry is at max techlevel - but I don't know how I did that ... Now I'm trying to do that with my first city and I don't even get 1 star techlevel :-( does anybody has an idea ??
To all of you guys: the location of the education buildings (university, cc) is irrelevant to the tech level of the industry. You can even put it at the other side of the map, what matters is that all residents get access to the university and cc and that the population's IQ increases. Besides, if I would go to study at a university, I'd be like "Why the f*ck is my dorm next to a factory?" (if you know what I mean haha)
Easiest and cheapest way to get alloy and plastic: Recycling Center. Make sure to collect from cities outside of yours too!
Were you not listening?
It gives off a radius-effect that improves the industry, turning a greater profit!

Does watching joy bring you joy? Tears are in my eyes, bro
"EssayThinker"
Parks that say 3$ in the menu. Place those around your city and the land value will raise. hope this helped :D
These ones are pretty good, I don't understand why people don't appreciate them, IGN has absolutely nothing to do with EA failing with their servers.

Importing thier Students
sounds like they the bought them boxed them and shipped them to the Region

I really enjoyed that! Please keep them going

How do you decide the distance between streets? I noticed that sometime you use the grid, and sometimes you don't.

Yes, thank you! I made the mistake to go for the arcology though. Don't really see the point in it but too late to back out now

I have to say your road layout is the reason why you cannot put out a fire in time. The fire cars spend too much getting through all the jam traffic.
IGN didn't fail him. He failed IGN!
do i only need to build one Bus Terminal per region? or does every city gotta have one Bus Terminal so the buses can travel to each city?

I appreciate your time and work.
Best thing I've seen all day!

Thanks IGN.
Looks like someone needs to go to one of these schools! How does one 'gruaded'?

does anybody know how to increase land value of ur city
If anything, it makes the videos better, as they managed to make a good video out of a terribly bugged game.
Can anyone tell me how to freaking supply the processor factory with alloy and plastic? I got multiple trade depots importing alloy and plastic along with multiple coal and ore mines along and smelting factories yet the processor factories can't get enough material!
Recycling plants
Have your recycling plants make alloy then import plastic this is the cheapest way
I have a lil question... what screen recorder do you use!? haha.. I want to do my own videos but all the recorders I find suck.. :(
hey michael i think u must probably make a video on how to solve the traffic on road in simcity.
Do you really have to place the university INSIDE the factory zones? It really doesn't look good in any city
it doesn't look good, no, but they develop faster.
If you check my channel, i try to make this work by using the education facilities of another city instead of putting everything in the same city. It's still a bit bugged right now though !
What region is this? and the name of the city?
Seems like you didn't pay ATTENTION on why he placed it there.
To all the noobs. Putting a university near your industry improves the industries. Read the tooltip.
Where is part 2??
A university in the middle of factories? Seems legit^^
How did you get denser residential and comercial buildings so fast? I
Lower taxes

He said doable...

I did actually, guess I'm just misunderstood. I'll remove my comment just in case someone else makes the same remark.
No way i'd put my uni near industry.
IGN apparently.
Is he playing multiplayer??
I hate those fucking monster attacks...
Thanks for education me ign
