      Hill 16 holds 13,000 so minus this from 82,500 = 69,500 plus the capacity of the Davin Stand (27,000) = 96,500. However this would only be possible if the railway line was built to run through an underground tunnel but even at that there is still not enough space or land to mirror the Davin Stand so the capacity would be less than 96,500. Nonetheless our Páirc an Crocaigh is a special place ☺️

      @@endagriffin2530 That's sort-of true, but that figure presumed standing being allowed on the walkways, which would never have been permitted (even in those days). As you say, the highest number of tickets they were ever allowed to sell was 150,000.
      I grew up a 5 minute walk from Hampden, and when I was a kid the capacity was 74,000 (pre-Hillsborough). The ground was barely smaller then than in the heyday of the 1930s-1960s, so I can't imagine how cramped it must have been with so many people in it.

One thing I will say though, I do understand the need for all seaters from a safety point of view, but there was a certain atmosphere from a terrace that you can't get in an all seated stand and that's been lost forever.

    England did an otherworldly job with hosting Euro 2020 games. There was no violence or xenophobia towards foreign fans, no attacks, no near-death experiences; security was adequate; hosts were extremely welcoming and graceful in defeat even as England lost the final. UEFA's President can be sure that with this bid we will see more of the same in 2028. And do not doubt for a second that Ireland, NI, Wales and Scotland will host a lot of games thanks to the "collaborative" nature of the bid. There is no way a magnanimous co-host like England would want to keep most of the action for itself and leave just scraps for everybody else.

      I hear the media having a go at OT... but they forget that when it comes to viewing lines Old Trafford is the best stadium anywhere. The stands are close to the pitch and steep on 3 sides. The shallow bottom tiers at Arsenal, the Council House and West Ham give dreadful views. The roof at OT is a disgrace and needs sorting and it would be great to build up the South Stand. Worst condition in the Premier League? Sellhurst Park? Elland Road? Fulham? What a mess Wolves have + all the boring boxes at Southampton and Leicester..... Yeah OT is in the worst condition!

    Why can’t they just expand the amount of host stadiums like we should be using like 10 stadiums which would include Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, Emirates Stadium, Celtic Park, Ibrox Stadium, Anfield, St Mary’s Stadium, City Ground (Nottingham), King Power Staduim, London (Olympic) Stadium, Windsor Park, as well as Cork and Galway! So why not? Like come on! If the Euros is hosted all over the U.K. and Ireland then you would have a whole nation engaged in the tournament rather than just 4 cities. Encourage growth in places that need it- I would include north Wales on here as well but it would have to be Bangor, Aberystwyth or TNS (and they’re in Shropshire not Wales and they all would need huge infrastructure renovations- maybe having Swansea and Cardiff would have been good but they you’re limiting growth to south Wales). Why limit the amount of stadiums when we will have enough games?

    Very doubtful casement park in belfast will be ready,it needs to have construction start no later than the summer which is unlikely due to ongoing political logjam.Very much doubt the political impasse will be solved by the summer since its now nearly april.Even if it is built there still could be issues,because it will have a standing section that will need to converted to seating and from what i read UEFA have there doubts as to the feasibility of that.

      You can, but it hugely reduces capacity - eg Dortmund will be reduced from 81k to 66k for Euro 2024. If they did that at the planned Casement Park it would probably pull capacity below the minimum 30k threshold. In any case, unless the UK government step in and promise to underwrite it, I don't think it's going to be built.

    London stadium needs some sort of technological upgrade that will allow the stands to move properly close to the pitch. The issue is currently the upper stands on one side that when the lower one's move forward, have this wierd looking gap created. It kills the atmosphere and it just looks awful.

    • @aes1373
      @aes1373 Год назад

      @JimBob the problem isn't the running track pal. I don't mind it at all. In fact I'd rather they keep it like that rather than what they're doing now. As the video said, they bring the lower tiers on three stands forward to be closer to the pitch. The issue I'm talking about is that when those lower tiers get pushed forward, for those three stands between the upper and lower tiers there's so much free space. The two tiers aren't continuous like anywhere normal stadium, or how it would be if they kept the track. It looks like crap and kills the atmosphere. Only the east stand has the correct shape since its continuous from upper to lower tier.

    • @aes1373
      @aes1373 Год назад

      @JimBob I'm not a West Ham fan, but that empty space you mentioned isn't strong to hold enough ppl on it. Also let's say it could hold ppl, it's a flat surface. Ppl have to jump over each other to see what's going on on the pitch. There's a reason stadium tiers are angled bro. Also the Frankfurt fans are there for one match. If they had to play there as a home team every time, I'm not sure they'd be very happy.

    Cardiff Airport isn't super close, but the transport links are good.
    Certainly Cardiff is the only place I'd go to for a matchday just to soak up the atmosphere in the city (unless Ireland was playing at Croke or Scotland in Glasgow - doesn't matter who's playing in Cardiff, though on a Wales day it will beat em all!)

Expansion from 52,888 to 65,000 can be done within 18 months if needed as the foundations have already been piledriven. And the side/wing roofing they are now installing is removable. Hello, there is a lot of development in Saudi football. I hope you will talk about it. There are stadiums that will be built for the 2027 Asian Cup, as well as stadiums for clubs such as Al-Ettifaq Club and Al-Shabab Club, which will be opened next season.
