      I recently bought the same laptop and like it a lot for the most part. However, I have noticed that my camera quality on zoom and the regular camera application is horrible. The picture quality is very grainy, and just bad overall. Have you encountered any issues with your camera?

    I like the 1080p better because the colours look more natural.
    The built-in mic is a little weak, but the web cam is ok... Good review. Idea: you could review the web-cams on the inside and the outside. Different light conditions...
    And, it happens to everyone...😂😂😂 Good detail on the end of the video.

    YAY! Been eagerly waiting for this review! This was awesome! ONE thing I think you forgot to mention, though, is that the Lift and Lock/Wave keyboard from the last three generations is gone on this one (I THINK in order to make it thinner, but not entirely sure). That's kind of important. (That's a big part of why I'm going with the 3rd gen instead, haha.)

    Great review. Overall, I like the 3rd gen better. I prefer carbon fiber over aluminum. I also like the mag-lift keyboard, which the 4th gen doesn't have. I'm hoping this means the 3rd gen will go on sale. Although, I wish either version had dedicated graphics, even a lower powered one, like a MX250. The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme is still my top pick.

  • @niconico6229

    I like this laptop but would be perfect with a 3:2 screen form factor, a dedicated GPU (eg. NVidia MX 250), 4096 pen pressure sensitivity, the same number of speakers as the Thinkpad X1 Carbon 7th gen and a 1024 pixel camera! Thank you Lenovo!

    According to Mathew Moniz's video, he stated that the Yoga performed noticeably worse(not that much, but noticeable) than the Carbon. It would be nice if in a video that has a product that is extremely similar to other products that you would compare them so the customer knows as much as they can about their considered products.

    I wish Lenovo (and other OEMs) would put dedicated graphics in their smaller convertible laptops. If ASUS could put the MX150 gpu in the Zenbook Flip 14, Lenovo could do the same here. And while they are not particularly powerful gpu’s, an MX150 or MX250 is still much better than integrated graphics.

    • @ashs3380
      @ashs3380 5 лет назад +1

      Intel doesn't know how to make integrated graphics. AMD's integrated are great

    • @2011Kestrel
      @2011Kestrel 5 лет назад +1

      Ash S
      I like AMD. If I build a desktop AMD is my first choice for the CPU - I think it would serve my needs better than an Intel one would.
      Unfortunately OEMs keep using so-so AMD mobile CPUs in crap budget laptops, instead of doing something really good with AMD’s better hardware. I was very interested when Asus paired AMD CPU’s with Nvidia GPU’s in a couple of laptops, but apparently the performance didn’t live up to the hype.
      And still no Thunderbolt 3 on them - a must have for those thinking of using an eGPU or who routinely transfer large amounts of data.

    I am considering this one as an upgrade from my Microsoft surface book 1 i5. I basically only use Office apps but a lot of those. I fancy battery life more but am a bit afraid of losing out if I choose FHD as it is a dégradation compared to surface book screen. Is there any benefit in the 4k screen from a productivity point if view e.g. having the option to run multiple apps next to each other or will it be too small to read? Also does it make sense to buy 16Gb instead of 8Gb for this type of use? I suppose an i5 is the better choice for cost and battery reasons as well.

    Full HD for me, because of the better battery life. Also like the 2 in 1 and the pen. I would have preferred to have a larger pen that would pair with the laptop instead of the smaller one housed in the unit. Old, arthritic hands require something easier to hold when using. I would prefer to have a designated holder on my desk for a larger pen, both of which I might be able to find in Best Buy or on line somewhere. However, I am still a bit wary of the Lenovo brand. I have only had experience with them from their lineup of tablets and I haven't been won over by the slow to connect to the internet with every tablet of theirs I have used. If I'm going to shell out double plus the cash for a laptop, I need to be sure it will boot up without the excruciatingly long wait. Any way you can start including start up times for the products you review? Of course, I might be the only one interested in that.

    • @7Write4This9Heart7
      @7Write4This9Heart7 5 лет назад +1

      Lenovo actually sells a separate full-sized pen that takes batteries and connects to the comp via Bluetooth! As long as the laptop has a good quality SSD (and this one does), it should only take seconds to boot up! As for the wariness, if it helps at all, I've had a Lenovo Thinkpad T440s for 5 years (typing on it now), and I've never had a problem! The internet has never been unreliable or slow! It's been amazing!

    AMD, when you display price as tested, write down how much it is on sale, because no one buys lenovo products when they aren't on sale, because there is a sale every other week on lenovo's website. Because the model that you're testing in this video can be bought for like $2400 with cash back. Also take into discount into account when grading the product for its price.

    Hey, @Andrew Marc David - weird question, but not sure where else to turn. On your review machine, did you see a half cm border around the edge of your screen that is a darker color than the rest of your screen? The rest of the screen is a shade or so brighter. I don't think it's a software issue since it's still clearly there when the computer is off, but it's really noticeable (to me; in reality, it's quite subtle), especially with dark colors, and I'm really worried it's a ghosting/image retention issue (I have the low-power 1080p version). Have you or anyone else seen this issue/know what it is/how to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated!

    I don't understand why many premium notebooks have hdmi1.4 instead of hdmi2.0.

      Probably due to HDMI 2.0 not being that popular or seen as necessary, yet. It seems that most output devices above FHD favour DisplayPort and with two TB3/USB-C ports, with DisplayPort 1.4 support, on devices such as this, it's heaps easy just to use them for UHD monitors/displays. The majority of the UHD displays I've used only supported 60hz @ 3840x2160 via DisplayPort.

    Disappointed since I JUST had to finally return my dream comp, the Thinkpad X1 Yoga 3rd gen, because I couldn't stand the keyboard. The travel was just too damn low for me (coming from an 5+ year old T440s). My fingers literally hurt after a few MINUTES of typing. I can go all day on my old one. Granted, that wasn't the ONLY reason, there were quite a few, but that was the biggest. I tried for over a week, but nope. T__T And if this keyboard has LESS travel, that sucks for me. :/ The fact that they'd mess with the keyboard depresses me.

    Does this generation’s keyboard go down when we fold it to another side?

      No, it does not. This feature was removed to make it more thin. If you're looking for one that makes the keyboard go down, you should consider the Thinkpad Yoga X1 , 3rd generation

      Bought this and returned it within a week, very disappointed in the 4k version battery. Also had screen flickering issues and extremely annoying coil whine.

    Or with any of the 2019 z990 family to compare with others xps, Lenovo ,since the spec are pretty similars, and lg are light and touch?
