Not a single wasted lyric. As I get older, the line "Planting trees I'll never climb" brings mixed emotions. Time runs out eventually but the things we do can live on.

My wife and I have been living full-time in an RV since August of 2020. Working around my speaking and book signing schedule, we travel throughout the country with our faithful golden retriever.
We also do quite a bit of volunteer work throughout our travels (planting trees we'll never climb).
This song really resonated with me from the very first time that I heard it. People need to get on the move. The people who we've met and places that we've seen so far have been beyond amazing.
Get out and see the world! It's the best preventive medicine there is!

Song reminds me of my dad. He encouraged me to join the Navy and see the world. The lyrics bring back to me the conversations I had with him in pay phones across the world. There were indeed kids with war paint on. Sadly we lost him due to COVID in December. He planted so many trees he would never climb. One of those songs where lyrics are up to interpretation, based on how they hit you.

Really a perfect song for all the tweens and teens who would rather keep their head buried in their phones and iPads. It's amazing how my tween son will resist doing something but once he's in the middle of it, he so glad we're there. Just get out and see the world.
