Scrubs is the best MODERN sitcom. The old ones have a different style that is really off-putting to lots of people under like, 35... lol Most newer sitcoms aren't to great though. Except How I Met Your Mother, but scrubs has a lot more laughs and a lot more emotional parts!
honestly the way i think scrubs dealt with complex emotional issues puts it at the top of modern sitcoms for me, though the way himym dealt with uplifting moments was fucking awesome. but no other sitcom dealt with raw emotion like scrubs
I found this song in juvenile hall. Must of been back 2005. Had a hard life in a county of no foster beds. Because of that I spent two years out of three in a pod full of troubled teens. One of the guards felt bad for me and would bring me his iPod and ihome to let me listen to music at night. Thank you Chris. I found my freedom

I don't think there's ever been a musician like Brett, who tells the truth and spreads love with every single word, song, action, and video. His heart is true. His skills are mental. That's why I love him
I found myself finding this song back in old youtube and adding it to my favorite, then many years later forgetting about it and hearing it on House MD again

Genuinely one of my current favorite songs. Learning it on guitar and Brett has written the perfect blend of approachability and nuance in the notes. He let the guitar compliment, yet not dominate the song and I just love it.
this really puts into perspective how much as americans we just think about the american dream and striving to be the best we can be for the betterment of our live styles. to be so privalledged to live in a country where we can do just about anything is beyond amazing so really next think about the people that are not blessed with the privalledge of living here.
Every single word in this song is so beautiful and true. Its been a while since I've cried like I did right now, Thank you for letting me experience this profound sadness.
Powerful. Pain and suffering everywhere we look. This video really strikes a nerve. We literally do these things everyday. Be the change you want to see, there are many things you can do, be creative about it if you want. Let others find reason and forgiveness in their own time. Grassroots movements have the power to change the world. We all have a voice. Those who underestimate our generation, will regret it.

In 2020, I think this song has become more relevant than ever. As we become more aware to the evils within the world, those evils have dug in their claws with intent to not be uprooted. This coming decade will be one of the most important in human history I imagine. I just hope it's for the right reasons.
Man this song is so real. Started tearing up listening to the live version hits hard everthing he said is a fact. Hurts that much more when you listen with your heart its a damn shame and there aint no reason thing are this way.
now its 2021 and still these words ring true. This world is changing fast as people demand their respect and freedom. It will happen, it's been building to this for 50 years or more. It's why we chose to live here now, to come back and spread the love.

The Last Face... is why I'm here... Brett's words hauntingly close out one of the most 'must see' movies that you've never heard of. If you have Internet, to access RUclips, to watch Brett's music video… you are privileged. This movie will bring to light a vast majority of humans that don't have any of the above. Not a roof over their head, not food in their bellies, not peace amongst their families and neighborhoods and communities. Brett's words bring to light the fallacy of westernized mentalities of an over indulgent, privileged existence that we all too often take for granted, and think it is the norm. Thank you Brett… for the words.. for the sentiment… The Last Face... Charlize Theron Sean Penn Director
I think I was ten or eleven when I heard this song for the first time, at High Sierra Music Festival in Northern CA. I have always loved this red-headed hippie man who showed me it was okay to be myself and love things and people who weren't considered cool in the mainstream media. The holidays are rough and there are many nights I just sit and listen to sad music to try and make sense of it all.

Part of the song is gone where did it go? there is a missing verse it goes "working your fingers bare to the bone break ya back make ya sell your soul like a lung that is filled with coal suffocating slow" thumbs this up so people can see it.

Great, classic, conscious song.
I hope you're still alive.
I was just introducing a friend to him and was saying the same thing about Brett. 😊❤
Havent heard this song in like 10 years. I still know the lyrics to it. Great song by a talented artist who deserves way more love than he ever got.
Facts also this video needs more pixels 😂

And I swear “Let Her Go” by Passenger was “inspired” by Brett, if not kinda stolen.
“You’ll save more people than I will, but I’ll settle for killing less. Consider this my two weeks notice.”

I played this once in our tent in Oman. It soon became an anthem for our little Navy crew.
Here from scrubs. Loved that show and song. Brings back so many memories

I have listened to this song 3 times today,
this songs is the reality of EVERYTHING!
I cry when I hear it,
but if I didn't cry, I would have no heart
There ain't no reason things are this way
It's how they've always been and they intend to stay
I can't explain why we live this way
We do it every day
Preachers on the podiums speaking of saints
Prophets on the sidewalk begging for change
Old ladies laughing from the fire escape
Cursing my name
I got a basket full of lemons and they all taste the same
A window and a pigeon with a broken wing
You could spend your whole life working for something
Just to have it taken away
People walk around pushing back their debts
Wearing paychecks like necklaces and bracelets
Talking about nothing, not thinking 'bout death
Every little heartbeat, every little breath
People walk a tight rope on a razor's edge
Carrying their hurt and hatred and weapons
It could be a bomb, or a bullet or a pen
Or thought, or a word or a sentence
There ain't no reason things are this way
It's how they always been and they intend to stay
I don't know why I say the things I say
But I say them anyway
But love will come, set me free
Love will come, set me free, I do believe
Love will come, set me free, I know it will
Love will come, set me free, yes
Prison walls still standing tall
Some things never change at all
Keep on building prisons, gonna fill them all
Keep on building bombs, gonna drop them all
Working your fingers bare to the bone
Breaking your back, make you sell your soul
Like a lung, it's filled with cold
Suffocating slow
The wind blows wild and I may move
The politicians lie and I am not fooled
You don't need no razor or a three piece suit
To argue the truth
They air on my skin in the world under my toes
Slavery stitched to the fabric of my clothes
Chaos and commotion wherever I go
Love I try to follow
Love will come, set me free
Love will come, set me free, I do believe
Love will come, set me free, I know it will
Love will come, set me free, yes
There ain't no reason things are this way
It's how they've always been and they intend to stay

We do it every day
Preachers on the podiums speaking of saints
Prophets on the sidewalk begging for change
Old ladies laughing from the fire escape
Cursing my name
I got a basket full of lemons and they all taste the same
A window and a pigeon with a broken wing
You could spend your whole life working for something
Just to have it taken away
People walk around pushing back their debts
Wearing paychecks like necklaces and bracelets
Talking about nothing, not thinking 'bout death
Every little heartbeat, every little breath
People walk a tight rope on a razor's edge
Carrying their hurt and hatred and weapons
It could be a bomb, or a bullet or a pen
Or thought, or a word or a sentence
There ain't no reason things are this way
It's how they always been and they intend to stay
I don't know why I say the things I say
But I say them anyway
But love will come, set me free
Love will come, set me free, I do believe
Love will come, set me free, I know it will
Love will come, set me free, yes
Prison walls still standing tall
Some things never change at all
Keep on building prisons, gonna fill them all
Keep on building bombs, gonna drop them all
Working your fingers bare to the bone
Breaking your back, make you sell your soul
Like a lung, it's filled with cold
Suffocating slow
The wind blows wild and I may move
The politicians lie and I am not fooled
You don't need no razor or a three piece suit
To argue the truth
They air on my skin in the world under my toes
Slavery stitched to the fabric of my clothes
Chaos and commotion wherever I go
Love I try to follow
Love will come, set me free
Love will come, set me free, I do believe
Love will come, set me free, I know it will
Love will come, set me free, yes
There ain't no reason things are this way
It's how they've always been and they intend to stay
I can't explain why we live this way
We do it every day
Thank you 💕
