Oh, it's so gloriously evocative! A soldier who has lost his composure-- they don't mean just a soldier who is caught of guard, I think. But a soldier who has seen battle and come out of it emotionally scarred.
Brings back 2006 memories of my longing to see the world after grad school and getting stuck in a dead end corporate job I really hated. Finally took the plunge to travel and see the world a few years later. I ended up doing 6 out of 7 continents. Some of the best times of my life. Funnily enough I have no desire to travel much at present. Travel is a phase. Enjoy it while you are young!
This is just one of the happiest tunes in the world, always makes me feel good.
Absolutely love this! When I'll have my own house, i'll just get a glass of fine red wine, sit on the couch and listen to this song, after a day of hard work... amazing.

My son is coming back from travelling in South America on Tuesday and I sent him this song on whatsapp. So emotional and wonderful. Gomez was my friend on my travels and now I've passed them on to my beautiful son. Love you Gomez. x

I'd say I love this song, but that would understate the impulse I feel for the simple pleasures this song evokes.

I've had the experience of seeing these guys live eight times now. And I don't proclaim to be a musucal genius, but, I've been there at Smiths and new order gigs and The Jesus and Mary chain and Big Audio Dynamite and living colour and possibly more I've forgot to mention, but, These guys are unique, the best night out of my life = GOMEZ JD and friends. Mostly the line "its the things that are given, not won are the things that you earned" that resonate with me in the song. And I always thought "earned" was "want" until I looked up the lyrics. Whatever the case I really like what it says. I listened to this everyday for about two months before I left the country for the first time. It was a period when I decided I would release material wealth as a top aspiration in my life. So I left my finance program at USU, went to China and never looked back.

I heard this song in my work at sports authority. I was like wow these guys are pretty good. I actually thought it was Mumford and Sons at first. I had to shazam it and it pulled them up. I can't believe it's over 7 years old, wow. Sometimes great songs don't get the recognition they deserve. Awesome tune and I love the video!

Makes me excited to travel again. And I love the striking dress shoes. I once travelled around the US and Canada in a pair of white bucks. Great part about traveling is expressing yourself through what you wear and starting conversations with new friends because of it.
