    As a former Adventist, I look forward to seeing what you have prepared. What I found lacking in Adventism was the law of Christ. So much focus on some of the old covenant that faded away. Galatians was an eye opener as well as Hebrews. I get asked by current SDA, how do I view the 3 Angels msg and Revelation now. All I can say is that Adventism has missed the mark, not having the one and only Gospel that the Apostles taught. There is no “present truth” for a last day generation that Adventism teaches.
    I think you’re doing the right thing, we have to weed the garden of our minds and take out the trash.
    You are also correct about watching too much of certain channels. After learning and weeding, I no longer desire to hear what’s wrong with Adventism. I’ve moved on to the true gospel and non of that even resonates with me anymore. No more false proof texting, I read scripture in the Greek now, what an eye opener that is.

    I grew up a Lutheran and did read the Bible back than . When I adopt ed adventism it was through marriage . I never heard about it and fully embraced it . I trusted church leadership as many others did . After years of doing that and EGW teachings I went back to the Bible that I once read without outside influence . I realized that this is crazy , to put this woman in front of Jesus , telling me how to interpret scripture . Hebrews tells us there are no prophets like in the Old Testament days . That Jesus is the fulfillment and teacher . That there is only one atonement and not to ad or remove from Gods word , under severe punishment btw . I understood that I had to leave based on scripture . I have family that is stuck in this and is not reachable, even though they have no true argument . I pray for them and all other no e Bible based “Christians “ that their eyes are opened . I watch your ministry, and I agree with your position, it is not really for me but for all who are stuck in none biblical doctrine. Not only Adventist . If you lead one to the unadulterated word of God it was and is all worth it !

    Praise the Lord! Thank you Dr. Davis for the great therapeutic advice you've shared here. I also agree with you, we need to let go and to be free is to allow God to work in our hearts and give us strength from being bogged down from some of the beliefs we formerly held, so we can begin to heal and be at a better place in our lives to be the witness for God as He would have us be 🙏❤

    For seven years after leaving Adventism, I hosted a Former Adventist Discussions on Facebook. We had hundreds of former Adventists and current Adventists come daily and discuss and debate. I saw it as my ministry to help formers assess Adventism and move forward into a healthier Christianity--a pitstop to vent to former Adventists who have been down that road and heal before they moved on.
    While many, if not most, moved on, there was a core that stayed for years (even some for the full seven years) and among these there were some that just cycled through the same questions and anger about Adventism. They seemed to never be able to let go of the anger. It was frustrating for me to understand why this occurred.
    Would love to read your thoughts on why this happens or even watching a video if you have time. God bless you. Teresa Beem

    When you eluded to your channel focus changing I was genuinely excited and now that you're following through I'm even more so because conversation is the only way to have meaningful growth!
    I look forward to hearing your position, understanding what you find most important and why. I've found in my own experience that many many times the "gospel" people espouse might be good news for the individual but have terrible implications for God! They blindly turn God into a demanding tyrant who says "do what I say or I'll kill you" which isn't good news in the long term. Since looking for myself, reading the Bible as a whole in different versions more than 8 times since 2021 my picture of who God is and what He's asking has fundamentally and irreversibly changed for the better! Not only do I follow God and the Bible but I actually LIKE God and admire Him!
    Looking forward to actual conversation with you in the future!

    HI all...I have been studying Catholicism and SDA. They are both similar and works driven. I recently left my "non denomination" church after digging and reading in the word. They had some theology that we couldn't Biblically agree on. I want to encourage everyone no matter what church you go to...Read the Word with an open mind and no hidden agenda. I love to query topics in Bible apps. It is amazing how many man made theologies and hidden agendas are out there. The church as a whole has evolved into a business and may think they are doing God's will, but ultimately are making money. I don't think my Father is digging a beautiful building, nice seats, smoke, low lights, free coffee(i really like this). I believe what God is desiring us to be as His church is small gatherings where there is teaching, but also sharing. I heard so many people say " i enjoy the praise and worship and the charismatic teaching and "series" but i don't really get to share or fellowship. Of course "small groups" are sold but rarely have much oversite. I believe smaller gatherings(less corporate money making) would please our Father and would bless new converts and grow us together as a body. Just and example of something I don't see in scripture...I hear people praying to the Holy Spirit...no where i could find in the Word that teaches that. Jesus teaches us through His finished work that we pray directly to our Father in the name of Jesus. Praying that God's gift of His Spirit will open our eyes and hearts to the Truth...He promised that His Spirit would teach us :) :)

I have gone in and out of these discussions and find for the most part my peace is better out. I don't want to binge on the error and begging people to study the subjects only gets me(messenger) shot and there seems to be no real benefit.

    I have to say that I am excited to see what you have coming up. And applying what we learn is a sure way to grow- my experience. It also goes so well with the Hanukkah celebration (putting one’s faith into practice. I was just considering giving my testimony to a group and thinking about all that I have learned over the past three years, and it really does have to do with applying it all. That is also a test of our faith because most of the truth goes contrary to the mainstream. Shalom

    I am a former Adventist. I left in my twenties, thirty years ago and left Christianity. Was called back 4 years ago to follow Christ but have not been able to know how to worship God. I know Adventism is not the right way but up until recently I have not been sure what the right way is. I am not part of a denomination, I read and study at home and worship on line with various churches. There is something about being bought up an Adventist that makes me reluctant to commit to another denomination, and I find that every now and again Adventist dogma raises its head and I become critical of whatever denomination I am following and yearn for the “simplicity” of being told this is doctrine and this is not. However I am fully convinced that E G White is not a prophet of God and that Jesus saves not keeping the Sabbath or not eating meat etc. However I am not sure about your belief about the trinity (having spent 4 years studying that this is the Godhead) and that the Holy Spirit is not a person. I want to follow Jesus and I want to know the truth. So I will keep watching you, studying and praying because I don’t think it’s by accident that I found your channel.

    Throwing myself across the finish line! REAL QUESTION: My father was an aviator in the Navy. (and remains a staunch SDA) He was sucked into this group, in the mid-to-late 1980s. Do you think there's something about military personnel, or military officers... that causes them to gravitate towards this group? -just a passing thought

      @@DiscipleAcademy I am a military veteran myself. Your feedback isn't bad. Conversely perhaps, the military requires you to suspend your personal questions & convictions. As a military officer who spent 27 years in uniform, I can tell you, we commit and we commit with purpose. We remain single-minded until we see something that doesn't smell right.
      For me, it began with changing my diet to vegetarianism-veganism after the death of my parents, thinking it was a better choice. We didn't have all the research we have today re: the deleterious effects of this eating disorder. Sadly, I was ripe for the SDA poison because of this diet.
      On the back end, it was diet reform (i.e., getting back to a proper biblical diet) that brought me out of the cult. My body and mind were healing, and I was able to see the erroneous teachings SDAs call the Gospel. With the same purpose and dedication I entered, I also exited. That said, it's been a very thorough and intense deconstruction of the deceit of SDA-ism.
      During my military career, I was committed to Sabbath-keeping and all the "rules" SDAs taught, I thought were biblical. And because I was an officer, it was easier for me to ensure I was able to keep the rules. At times when I did run into obstacles, I went the extra mile to work around them. There was one instance (when I was a young major) where I was nearly punished with court-martial for purportedly disobeying an order. However, once the brass sifted thru the muck, not to mention examined my stellar record, I was exonerated of all wrong-doing. You can read about it in Liberty Magazine, the Jan/Feb 2002 edition.
      Anyway, suffice it to say, military members set their hand to the plow of faith just as strongly as they do their profession. They're committed to God more than they are their country.

    Hello Dr. Davis! Is tithe for ministers salary use only? In the new testament time, did they tithed? Tnx so much. God bless.

    • @DrAD767
      @DrAD767  9 месяцев назад +2

      We don't have any record of tithe in the New Testament. The concept never arises, although the spirit of charity and giving appear to be much greater than in the Old Testament canon.
      As for the tithe in the SDA church, it's used for ministers, teachers, church employees, etc.

    • @DrAD767
      @DrAD767  9 месяцев назад +4

      Short answer: tithe isn’t a requirement. What we read of tithe in the Gospels is, technically, Old Testament. The topic in Hebrews is to make a point about Melchizedek’s superiority to Aaron.
      That said, generosity and giving of one’s means and time is of a greater requirement. However, to think one needs to tithe so to fund a minister, who’s unwilling to work a real job, has no biblical basis.

      Christians are to follow the spirit of Christ and to live, love, and give as the spirit inspires them. Giving is what our Lord taught us by giving his own precious life. But whether it's 10% or 100%, it's as your heart is moved by the spirit.So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or out of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:7
