The one you have in the shop is not a Cooper S, its either a Mini Cooper or Mini One, which are the two base models. It has the B38 engine found in many BMW's. The Cooper S has the B48. It's not common for the clutch to go on these F55/F56/F57 generation models though. So either this one is super high mileage, or the owner rides the clutch too much.

Just be careful with the oil changes. You need to it within ten minutes otherwise your oil pump won't prime. But if you take it to Mumbo Repairs for services you won't have to worry about such things.

Expensive is one word that is open to interpretation, for one it might be an expensive car for someone else it could be within their budget. If you come from Toyota into a mini or a German car it will look expensive because of what you used to paying for😂😂

I found the SACHS to be of alot better quality than the LUK...I had a VR6 Golf and had my gearbox and clutch replaced, the clutch was LUK...brand new it was grinding,i struggled with gears...took it back got refund and got me SACHS which was slightly cheaper...problems gone drove several years before I sadly sold the car...I even spoke to some guys at the VR6 owners club I belonged to then and they all had the same sentiment about SACHS being better oh and my mechanic at the time also vouches for SACHS being better for the car...but each to its own.
@ozzi4627 you can't fit a LUK clutch only a Sachs flywheel. It will grind and won't let you ingage 1st. So maybe you had a Sachs flywheel and the LUK clutch didn't fit.
