Honestly though, I feel like these types of videos are just as important as your tutorial videos. You engage in nice conversation, which is great to listen to (thanks for being a human being with us; hard to find with artist sometimes), while we can look at how you draw and really get a grasp on the process. I've learned quite a lot just just from watching you sketch and it's been so helpful to see how I may be able to apply some techniques you use in my own work, now that I have time to get back into 2d drawing after having to be absorbed in 3d for so long. So thank you for these and stay awesome :3
Thank you for your continued effort on making these videis, always good to see a notification pop up from you. Keep making videos and i'll be coming back til the end of times.
Really enjoying your channel. I found it searching for advice on painting more efficiently with the use of light and shadow. I found much more than that and I really appreciate what you're doing. Plus that British accent was money.
I'll have arguments with myself while I'm driving in multiple voices. You know, to give myself more than one view of a particular subject. You're very good at making learning easy! Like I said before, I figured out a lot from just a couple of vids, so I am really looking forward to seeing more painting ones. Curly hair for sure...all I know is the 'Jim Lee' style and that is a little dated now. I've got french braids down, so curly hair is next. Also I would like to see a tutorial on veils and multi layer crinoline; that whole see-through but textured thing. My last piece was supposed to have it, but I had to omit it as I couldn't figure it out. Thanks again! Great work!
Hey man, loving your channel more and more. Thank you for sharing so much stuff! Just wanted to ask what are your influences, who are your favorite masters that you studied from while learning and maybe a video showing how you approach your pencil sketches, mainly talking about technique and rendering. I've been trying to study old master sketches and understand how they hatched and used the stroke direction to make the sketches more interesting. Keep up producing awesome content man!
Where do you pull inspiration from? I'm an aspiring artist looking to graduate soon and break into the industry. I just recently found your channel and I can't stop watching! You're pencil sketches are truly incredible! Keep up the awesome work and keep inspiring!
Awesome video keep making them!!! DEFENATELY the highlight of my week. Your art is epic weather it's digital or traditional and your commentary is so fun to listen to while I'm drawing. Videos have been a great help thank you for your awesomeness☺
loving the orcs designs they are very interesting, can't wait for the hair tutorial the last one you did about coloring hair helped me a lot. handsome احمد looks pretty accurate btw
Love your videos as always, Ahmed. I saw that you had plans for hairstyle tutorials - if I may suggest some content for future vids, it'd be actually really helpful if you could share tips on drawing different traits of certain ethnicities in a tutorial!
Dear Ahmed Aldoori, Wow, those kid paintings really are cute! Thanks for not only teaching us how you do things, but also exposing us to other artists like your concept lead's LMDYK and Sycra. With that pencil stroke thing, is that why in art classes they have you pretty much cut chunks of wood out of the pencil and have you even smooth the graphite down with sandpaper? So you can get those big wide strokes? Also, since you love elves so much, maybe you can do a short quick tip video on how you approach drawing elves. Like what things should we consider outside of the ears? Are they typically seen as more slender or can there be fat elves? Do your proportions for elves differ significantly from that of just regular human? and idk if its just me or something but your commentary seems to be a few seconds before what's happening in the video. Like you're shading the feather headdress thing as you're saying "Oh! Oh! Look at that skull thing I'm doing!", and then in the video you don't actually draw the skull until like 5 seconds after you say it. I feel like every time I comment, it's always write these big ol' bloggy posts :c Like I'm writing letters. Sincerely, Cadenza. P.S. Don't do Wonderwall
I've been using mechanical pencils since I was 8 or 9. My favorite is one that dad gave to me many, many years ago (I got my passion for drawing from him). I don't know what I'd do if I lost it. What leads are those?
Hey Ahmed, I'm a third year Illustration student who's pretty confident in my abilities with traditional media, but find that my digital work just lacks the same quality to it, I've tried on and off for several years to get back into the digital art (with a wacom pen and tablet.) do you know any low pressure exercises which would help make digital art seem less imposing? I worry my short attention span stops me from making any real digital work. Thanks for your videos! :)
So would the hair tutorial be like a part 2 of the one you did 4 months ago? Or would it be more in depth in terms of drawing styles in from angles or imagination? That elf girl looks awesome btw
sorry for this stupid question but, i have downloaded your burshes, and when i use the brush the you often sketch with, it's not as dark as yours. Pls tell me why, thanks! btw i love your vids
mechanical pencils dont have a wide line variety. it has a fixed line width. it is harder to cover a bigger shadow with a mechanical pencil although you could use crosshatching techniques for that
Hello :) Please do more gesture/figure drawing, I really struggle with the gesture and my figure are always stiff even after trying the methods you already showed us :/ I just start draw with the head or action line then I don't know what to do after that...... BTW FADE TO BLACK - METALLICA xD
for now your tutorials are quite helpful and some vids like this make your channel more interesting because you do not show only something about art theory but also about your personality ;)
Hey Ahmed, I was wondering what your opinion was on skill-based contests (i.e. You give us a theme and pick the best drawing) rather than raffles. I know a lot of people who say that they prefer these because they're more fun and less tedious than copy-pasting usernames, but I was wondering what you think?
Hey Ahmed! Random request: Maybe a another vid on painting with a heavy focus on lighting, and the different elements of light, and how to utilize it best in your paintings? I'm studying light and color right now, so any more tips and techniques you have to share would be awesome :D Cool vids so far heeh :)
+Ahmed Aldoori Good! You're a popular teacher! I don't know how you do it with all the other work you have to do. I'm good! Had to postpone my Art Center app to Fall Quarter, but I've almost got the whole thing finished! I'm excited....
Ahaha, my name on IG is pronounced pandster, you almost got it right c: And mechanical pencil is awesome, I have been using them since I stole some from my dad when I was younger (I don't steal them anymore!!), but in school my art teacher pretty much didn't allow us to use them. However I think it really helped practicing my line because it's more like drawing with a pen. Which is also pretty fun. Your british accent is awesome, I'm always so impressed by people who can do that... o:
something just popping out from my mind.. can you please make one armours and weapons tutorial? well, if can't it's okay.. just a random question and favour to ask 😆
Ha I do the same thing with accents and voices, I think it's a common trait of crazy people. I'd love to hear your take on voicing some of the characters you draw
How do you draw I notice sometimes it's with your wrist ( like I usually do) but most "seasoned" artists say you should draw with your shoulder... If you know what I'm saying.
+isaiah harris I definitely know what you're talking about. I'll bring this up in another video but; I draw from both depending on the content. ARM - When I'm drawing perspective lines or ellipses, I use my arm. WRIST -When I'm scribbling and sketching details/faces, I'm using my wrist.
+isaiah harris To add to that, when I'm life drawing on big paper, I lay in big shapes/forms with the arm...I guess in general if I'm drawing big it's the arm. That way you don't get caught up in details and lose focus.
are you ever gonna do those art challenge things haha? like the 3 marker/color challenge , no sketch pen only challenge, etc ? I'm curious to see your version if you ever decide to do those kind of things haha
+Ahmed Aldoori I you can just search it on youtube! Its a pretty fun idea if you ever ran out of ideas for a video but seeing the recommendations in the comments, i guess its gonna take some time before that happens haha
we have a bunch of confusing letters :) И, З, Ч, Я. I remember those hilarious credits in the Red Heat movie that looked like AЯИОLD SCHШAЯZEИЕGGEЯ or something like this and were supposed to somewhat imitate Russian letters xD
Do you ever draw girl orcs, though? They're so not traditionally pretty girls, which is what you usually do when you draw girls. I'd love to see you draw some bonier, non-traditional women. And y'know... love some buff orc girls.

My up coming contest to win a sketchbook full of my drawings will certainly not be a raffle - I'll just leave it at that ;)
Hey Ahmed!

I have a question Ahmed and any artist here, how do you practice line weight and line quality, or make lines look pretty so to say?

What microphone are you using, Ahmed?
Blue snowball!
Ah! Thanks for the answer, that was pretty quick.
What do you think about Kim Jung Gi have you Steen him before?
we have a bunch of confusing letters :) И, З, Ч, Я. I remember those hilarious credits in the Red Heat movie that looked like AЯИОLD SCHШAЯZEИЕGGEЯ or something like this and were supposed to somewhat imitate Russian letters xD
:) your Brit accent is a cross between Scouse and Essex. Scouse = From Liverpool.
I am here for the orcs
Weird how your English accent reminded me of Gollum and then you actually did an impression of him.
Take a drink everytime he says "Um"/"Uhm".... oh gosh o_o
Great tips and drawing as usual tho!
Don’t be rude
sort of a weird request but i'd like to see your drawing station lol
Brushes link anyone?
I've heard that when drawimg something you shouldn't starts with the head. Why is that?
also how do you draw/color scars digitally? Scars from cuts, burns, etc.
I have wanted to check out audio books, but I feel they would be distracting?
You can easily be a voice actor
Spain Galicia Here ^^
nice :)
i used mechanical pencils my whole life until i got a note 5 then no more pencils for me. Mechanical is the only traditional medium I ever used.
YAYYYY YOU READ MY COMMENT

lol, that dress shoe
I think the video and the smaller video (your cam) are not synced well *-*
that english accent must have swapped between at least three different english accents
Do you ever draw girl orcs, though? They're so not traditionally pretty girls, which is what you usually do when you draw girls. I'd love to see you draw some bonier, non-traditional women. And y'know... love some buff orc girls.
Your English accent is like eighteen different parts of England in one.
lol in America it'd be called a Midwestern accent
+T R Λ D Ξ S they're referring to when I was doing a British/English accent lol
I'm actually quite impressed you can combine so many into one flowing accent in all honesty.
CLICKK.
u don't really see a lot of female orcs
Could you show us yours equipment and software you use?
And cloth tutorial plz
+Fukou da I use a PC and sometimes MAC, Adobe Photoshop CS6, and a Wacom Intuos PRO medium
