I have a k9 gsx-r1000 and I LOVE it. I have watched a crapton of reviews and read a bunch before I bought it...(was getting it no matter what 'cause gixxer's rule) but it seems across the board they are loving the Honda so my list would be Honda, Suzuki, Ducati, Yamaha, and Kawi...imho Kawasaki is a forerunner in looks and in style, but where I have always felt they lacked was in functionality and performance. I'd still ride one though
@riderpoet so would u say that the gsxr 750 would be more fun and still easy to handle on the street over a 600? im thinkin bout gettin the 750, just not sure if a 600 would be more practical
any recommendations on that bike? problems, things to change, thoughts? I was really thinking about buying one 03 blue, white, black with 26k miles. I don't have enough money for a new bike, but I def. need to upgrade after 3 years @ 600-650cc. I do a ton of highway miles in the average day (not weekends).
How do you mean? I'd be interested in knowing what makes you think the Honda is more for "the average guy". Do you mean style wise or the fact that Hondas are kinda conservative?
alright thanks. & yah about the power I'm not really concerned. im more just looking for a comfortable bike. @ 6'2'' those 600's hurt quickly & I figure i need to try a 1000cc inline at least once before i move to the more comfortable street fighter twins - which sometimes don't have the same level of wind protection. Thanks
well i have an 04 cbr1000rr and i love it but i was always interested in gsxr 1000 ,i have one friend with this bike and it is hella fast but he only gets me on top end.does anybody think i should sell my bike and buy a new gsxr or stick with honda .
No I have the 1000 not the 750 and it's electronically limited to 300kph it would go faster than that stock but it's limited.. Like I said, I was approved for the Kawasaki zx10 which i believe is what you have right? I really liked the bike and I almost got it cause of the price, but honestly I wanted the gsx-r since I was a kid. Also like I said before Kawi's are great looking bikes, but I think maybe on the lower end of performance...still waaaay more than I can handle.
i have no doubt in the mechanics, but the design is simplified, the lines arent agressive the fornt light is completly diffrent and the mufler is just bad, since 2007 it just took a turn for bad, did anyone took over the drawings board?
I was approved for the Ninja ZX10 black on black and 'almost' got it cause of the price......what is the top speed on it? Mine has 156hp and is electronically limited to 187.6 mph....I have only had it up to 167 cause at 160 it started to accel super hard again and my ballz just weren't big enough to go faster :D
@xxstfubmx I rode a v-twin 750 cruiser first for a year and a half, then i ended up with a gsxr 750. I've been riding the 750 for more than a year now and I'm just starting to push my bike. I'd check out a 750 dude, I've ridden the 600, 750, and 1000 and the 600 is really light and easy to throw around corners, but it never really threw me back into the seat. The 750 totally does but retains the maneuverability which imo makes it the best bike. I'd start off on a cruiser though
Like I said before, they all rock!!! I don't know man the gixxer has bridgestone battleaxes 195/50's stock and they are pretty damn sticky. I got my bike on sept 5th and what is today? Nov 11th. I have 3500 miles and already used up a back tire. ( I got a nail) I tried to film it but the cam pic sucked. I smoked the tires for like 3 straight minutes and clouded the whole neighborhood.
@FerrariFloency depends how long youv been riding and where your riding a r6 wouldnt get near this in a race it has way more power but a r6 is a road bike for like around town but this one is way faster
oh and i had a cbr600rr be for ,that was the best riding experience of my life.but wen u compare a 600 and a 1000 it depends on da rider ,for example i live in miami,fl so we have alot space to top out our bikes ,so wen i went out with my friends on bike nights they had to tell me where they were going so i could catch up to them later(yeah we ride hard not reckless )later so thats why i upgraded to a 1000rr.
@kasiorazz the 90's GSXR's looked better , I think the best looking GSXR was the 98 GSXR 750 blue and white, I wish they would do something to make the nose and headlights look better
I wonder if what he means is that the Honda is so precision and dialed in that it is almost boring to ride, but the gsx-r doesn't have some of the finer details of the cbr. The Suzuki doesn't have the abs and it's a little heavier and more wicked in the high end acceleration, and you can feel the corners more. Honda also kind of screams "Reliability" where gsx-r screams "Demonic POWER!!!"
The GSXR 1000 has lost its grunt, went downhill after 2006 and haven't yet to recover, and i love suzuki's and have a k4 gsxr 1000, sorry but they have got alot of catching up to do compared to the BMW S1000RR
The GSXR1000 has always been the bench-mark for 1000cc and/or all open class bikes. GSXR1000/750s are awesome bikes. I presently own a Hayabusa K8, but am about to trade for the 2011 Kawasaki ZX10. As far as the comment goes that men buy open class sportbikes to compensate for penis size, if that were true then I would be riding a Ninja 250. I like the horsepower and torque of a man's bike. 600cc sportbikes are fun, sort of like a Mazda Miata is fun. Real men like real horsepower, no fear!
@Lindholmer5k , Yes, real men ride on twisty curvy roads. To answer the selfexplanitory question, yes, I do ride on twisty curvy roads...after all, I am a real man. I guess you have not read my profile. Why did I chose a Hayabusa? Because the Hayabusa is a very fast sportbike, and it handles quite well. Okay, here is a surprise for my fans...I will be buying a 2011 ZX10 in the next few months, but will be keeping the Hayabusa also. Please, no more requests and offers for my Hayabusa.
@riderpoet pretty funny comment but not much else. This has been brought up too many times. So should i say people in 600s just don't have the balls for a 1000?? A sport-bike is a sport-bike. they all have a lot of power and it takes time to get used to regardless of where it is ridden, especially for beginners. Its a personal choice. My choice, R1 baby!!
I like the R1 alot but the engine doesn't feel as powerful as the other 1000cc's I've ridden. It's cool, but the damn thing puts out so much heat too it's crazy. I'd love to ride the new GSXR...
@89powerup Bikes may be weak my good sir, but the power to weight ratio is something that you won't find on most cars unless you put a pretty penny into them. Another thing is cars are extremely safe compared to bikes because of the same reason.. Weight. 2500lb vs 600lb. Plus the rider is exposed. So your argument is not all wrong just needs a bit of re wording. ;)
The late 90's GSXR's were the best looking, the headlights and upper fairings on this bike are not very good looking. Ducati and aprilia are making the best looking bikes these days
I would like to own each japanese liter bike, they are all so so sick. I've only experienced kawi and that I'm stickin to it, but had I got somethin else first I would probably say the same about it.
@weezy5611 very good point my friend....besides, there's nothing like pulling the front wheel off the ground effortlessly at 130mph on a 1000.....unlike the 600's where you have to slow down to 50mph just to attempt to get the front wheel off the ground only to have it come down just as fast. 1000's were built for men, 600's were built for squids and beginners. Don't get me wrong though, they're all a super good time....it just erks me when 600 riders talk trash about us 1000 riders. God Bless
im happy wit my 600 on the streets, gear changes are fun for me,lol. and i usually stay in gears 1-4....probably the fact im 5'9 127lbs, dont take much to move me. hehe
@AdamNeisler nobody comparing a super car to a stock bike..Either way,car would win..Period..Whats the point in even buying a bike when it cant go past 180?? I've read about the old school bikes, they'd kill the bikes that are being made today but lets understand something, still nothing when it comes to cars..Its like a bicycle trying to race a go-kart..
@89powerup lol motorcycles are the easiest way to go fast. For 13 grand one can buy themselves a hayabusa, that will hit 186, the speed it is limited to electronically. Just face dude, bikes are fast. Faster than any car you can buy for 13 grand off the lot, and also faster than a 50 grand car. Then you can spend the money you saved by buying a bike on upgrades so you go even faster.
@thekkl by the way, there is a technique used to discredit legitimate information, the private corporations would hire an AGENT to write articles and make up facts / research to discredit the actual facts bout chemtrails, or another controversial issue. that way those who seek to learn more, get quickly discouraged because they land on bullshit. u got to be clever, bro. There is so much you don’t know and all of it is more important then which bike performs better then the other.
i bought an 08 gsxr-1000, took it out for a ride and holy fuck i almost shat myself.after 10k on the rpm's i thought i was going to go into hyper space and end up back in the 50's chillin with michael j fox and the dock.
ALL the litre bikes are vertually the same as each other so unless you are a pro superbike racer then you will never get to see these bikes at there limit and there slight differenes. They are ALL "loon" machines. I think it`s just the style that each rider preferes and i personally like GIXERS. Great vid!!!
@CorruptArsenal213 and obviously you know me, because i have been riding since i was 8, mostly dirtbikes, and shifting on a dirtbike 5-7 hours on a dirtbike = about 15 hours of shifting on a 600, and i ride a ninja 500r daily (1st gear top speed = 35 mph), i've tested a 600 and a harley, honestly the 600s feel more compact, but their is less shifting compared to my ninja... for being a pro seriously treat others with respect and respect will be given, calling everyone a idiot isnt gonna cut it
Sad that this bike it rated last in the 1000 cc bike class! Even behind the Ducati! 1.BMW 1,000 2. Yamaha R1 3.Kawasaki ZX-10 4.Ducati 1198S 5.Honda CBR 1000 Fire blade 6. Suzuki GSX-R 1000 The Suzuki looks good, but it fails to the others!
@maximus10463 there completely common where i live i see atleast 10 liter bikes and busas every day im not tryin to start i fight over it im just sayin around here no one really has 600s my first bike is a 1000 i dont ride it on the street i only race it but alot of people ride them on the street
@fm2h3 all you really saying is I'm right..You get thumbs up..Cause you know bikes are weak also..Finally somebody on my side that knows the real deal.
you talkin about the Z1000? its theoretically unlimited coz the technology of electronical gauges tends to infiniti bla bla but yea Z1000 MAX. speed : 300 KM/H YES thats Y ITS MINE BUT MAN AM IN A FUKKN twirl (Z1000 '09 or GSX-750r)?!?
I've had mine sense April 28 2009 and I've had no problems with my GSX-R 1000, I can truly say they out did them selfs, and to the idiots that " blew the engines " stop lieing it's almost impossable to blow a engine unless u drive it dry, so go and trash talk on another bike don't be upset that GSX -R once again beat out the competition lmao, VROoOOM
Honda is better, scratch that Honda is best!, i test rode the new gixxer 1K and it's an amazing bike, he aint kidding when he says that it pulls hard in the top end, it's a MASSIVE kick in the ass. BUT! the honda can do it to, and the Honda just flat out handles better and feels lighter to me.
@CorruptArsenal213 honestly i don't even know why you are calling me a idiot or a punk or saying i disrespected you, too bad i was dragging my knee within the first months of riding, please read through my comments and find me where i disrespected you, or called you a name even, and tell me why i should respect you when you treat me like shit
@VWRabbit2008 I hear all 1000cc bikes are pretty powerful but, they no match for cars like the zonda, audi r8,ferrari enzo, lamborghini reventon etc..They'd eat them moto gp bikes up also..Bikes just fast for a few feet or so..After that, they nothing...600cc,750 and up..All slow and no match for these cars.
@thekkl just look at subliminal advertisement and why it works. i have been studing and research for most of my life...u dont get this knoweldge in high school and other institutions...because knowledge is power and control and it is not intended for the common man. u have a lot to learn and i do not mean it in a derogatory way...but u got to be aware that u know very little..that is how u expand and discover how little we actually know.
@CorruptArsenal213 now there may not be a track near my home, but i'm surrounded by twisties and i understand the concept of lean and look, weight transfers and lines through a turn, i understand it and apply it to my ability, i commented on your wrists getting cramped from shifting a extra gear or two, and you get all offended and start talking about how rich you are, well i'm rich too i got a bank full of pride
To Me The best Year They Make The Suzuki GXsr 1000 Was 03 and 04 .Runs Good and Looks Great.
K5 and k6 are the stuff of legend's
Awe, I was hoping for an updated gas cap, lol.
Suzuki REALLY know how to make a bike. absolutely gorgeous
I absolutely love the way these new Suzukis look, they're exciting just staring at them.
Why are there no clicks on the fork adjusters?
@riderpoet so would u say that the gsxr 750 would be more fun and still easy to handle on the street over a 600? im thinkin bout gettin the 750, just not sure if a 600 would be more practical

whats up with the BS PR rear braking into turn 3?? looks like a little show boating hey.
How do you mean? I'd be interested in knowing what makes you think the Honda is more for "the average guy". Do you mean style wise or the fact that Hondas are kinda conservative?

Little late for a 2009 bike review.
And didn't moto usa already do a liter bike shootout earlier this year?
@sonicboomracing They are called supersports and they are race bikes replicas for the street, so they aren't common street or road bikes
I just got the same exact bike.i sold my 07 600 and was lucky enough to get my hands on one of these.HOLY SHIT,what a difference
nice demo on the 09' stack, bike seems to perform well.
2:11 how do people do that? Swing the back end around like that.
is the new gsxr 1000 the same size as the 600?
what is the top speed in mph for this bike i am looking for a 1000cc bike?
well i have an 04 cbr1000rr and i love it but i was always interested in gsxr 1000 ,i have one friend with this bike and it is hella fast but he only gets me on top end.does anybody think i should sell my bike and buy a new gsxr or stick with honda .

@riderpoet What about the SV1000?
@sonicboomracing thanks bro i was wondering for a 1st bike havent been riding at long... how bout the 2005 r6 or gsxr??
@eaglez1177
what about the other bikes?
@LuckyLe13 Breaking drift mate. Just semi locks the rear and breaks hard with the front
@bigbad1000do7a is it faster than an r1?
i hearg that actualy the k9 model is weaker than the k8 regarding horsepower/torque
yes but the yami r1 is showing promis with its 09
what makes the 05 gsxr better than this one?
@VWRabbit2008 super cars is what I'm talking about but you've got some regular type cars that would beat a bike..
@maximus10463 i like the r6 and gsxr 600 and heard thought they were equally matched....
@xxstfubmx
I rode a v-twin 750 cruiser first for a year and a half, then i ended up with a gsxr 750. I've been riding the 750 for more than a year now and I'm just starting to push my bike. oil filter and fuel cap is the same
Is this faster than a cbr1000rr??
How much is it plz?
@riderpoet Just cause you like smaller engine size bikes doesn't mean you should rant on people who like bikes with the "Extra kick"
Those were good bikes. The golden era of the Gixxer Thou.
I just realized watching this, that i hear this very same sales pitch every single goddamn year.
@89powerup Dude what are you 5?
Awesome bike, can't wait to test drive it???
The GSXR 1000 has lost its grunt, went downhill after 2006 and haven't yet to recover, and i love suzuki's and have a k4 gsxr 1000, sorry but they have got alot of catching up to do compared to the BMW S1000RR
@fm2h3 dumb question..Are you 5?
@89powerup right on man, to each their own, either way stay safe man. take it easy.
@CorruptArsenal213 if you get sore from shifting maybe riding isn't for you
@riderpoet pretty funny comment but not much else. This has been brought up too many times. So should i say people in 600s just don't have the balls for a 1000?? @89powerup Bikes may be weak my good sir, but the power to weight ratio is something that you won't find on most cars unless you put a pretty penny into them.

@thekkl My friends are pilots, they brought it to my attention.
Ive got a boulevard M50Z right now, I gotta get me one of these!
@maximus10463 what? alot of people do it there street bikes for a reason
much? just 5kg
wow so many bike experts here, lol,are those ninja bike made in north america??
i have a longterm review of my gixxer 6 if anyone wants to see it.
@thekkl anyway we are here for the bikes
IS THIS BETTER THEN A R6!!! HONEST ANSWERS
ive got the gsxr 600 09 and my friend has the gsxr 750 07 theres not much diffrence ive drove both of them the 600 is better on the corners

Z1000 MAX. speed : 300 KM/H YES thats Y ITS MINE BUT MAN AM IN A FUKKN twirl (Z1000 '09 or GSX-750r)?!?

@benoitcaron period
@13tomabram my mistake..I meant aero..Either way bitch,it'll still smoke a bike with no problem..
K6 FTW 💎
Honda is better, scratch that Honda is best!, i test rode the new gixxer 1K and it's an amazing bike, he aint kidding when he says that it pulls hard in the top end, it's a MASSIVE kick in the ass.
BUT! the honda can do it to, and the Honda just flat out handles better and feels lighter to me.
want one...
the mirrors look the same =p
sick bike
@Tophairybutt Real men ride on twisty curvy roads, do you? And if so, why the hell are you on a bigbike? o.0
How cool!
@thekkl just look at subliminal advertisement and why it works. i have been studing and research for most of my life...u dont get this knoweldge in high school and other institutions...because knowledge is power and control and it is not intended for the common man. u have a lot to learn and i do not mean it in a derogatory way...but u got to be aware that u know very little..that is how u expand and discover how little we actually know.
have one...
