- Diana Ankudinova was born on May 31, 2003, in the far eastern Primorsky Territory of Russia in an area north of the city of Vladivostok. Diana's biological mother physically abused her.[3]
At the age of three, Diana was left at a bus stop in the winter with a broken collarbone.[3] Diana's biological aunt rescued Diana from the street, but was unable to care for the traumatized child. Diana's aunt made a statement about the abuse of Diana to the local prosecutor, and it was agreed that the young Diana should be turned over to the care of an orphanage in Primorsky Territory which provided for the care of abandoned young children in the general area.
Children from the orphanage were periodically sent to a sanatorium in Arsenyev to help them regain and maintain their physical and mental health. A massage therapist, Irina Anatolyevna Ponik, who worked at the sanatorium developed a special affection for Diana. The daughter of Irina Ponik, who sometimes visited her mother at work, was the one who first began to insist that her mother adopt Diana.[3]
In 2008, Irina Ponik filed the necessary paperwork to assume formal legal guardianship of Diana Ankudinova with the territorial department of guardianship and trusteeship. The new family lived in Arsenyev.] In 2012, the family moved far away to the city of Tolyatti in the Samara Oblast of southwestern Russia. The move to Tolyatti was mostly due to Diana's fears that her biological mother might try to find and abuse Diana or even attempt to regain custody of Diana. These fears were so intense that they had been significantly affecting young Diana's mental health.

Among Diana's several dozens of earlier song pearls there's the double performance as a guest at Moscow karaoke championship when she was just shy of her 14th birthday. Maybe somebody can provide a link for that ? 😮❤❤❤
Sorry it took me so long to find this reaction. You enjoy Diana's voice the way i do, and often with a smoke. It matched this video perfectly. At 15, she already had a reputation in the Russia and some of its neighbors, including China. But her performances in "You Are Super" proved what a wonderful talent she possesses. Please do more of her work from those shows, even if you do not do reaction vids. You will not be disappointed. "Rechenka", "Derniere Danse, and :Wicked Game" are outstanding, and, along with "It's A Man's World" prove she is a true stage personality who should enthrall us for a long time. Just a heads up she never done anything together with Dimash what you probably saw is a "virtual" duet that someone just mashed up both of their voices.
Other than that it is very cool that you finally discovered Diana, you will not believe the things she can do with her voice, she is easily the best female vocalist right now.
In the video you just saw she was only 15 years old in the competition that the article you read mentioned that she was the winner twice in a row.
This is only a small fraction of her powers you should watch more and you will understand that she is not "Human" after all.

Diana is a natural Contralto, which is rare and the lowest of female vocalists' registers.....she is also polyphonic ( able to sing multiple notes simultaneously ).......she reminds us that there are so many talented performers from the "world music" genre,.....but she is unique among them, as you noted,.......she was abused and abandoned as a child, was MUTE.....raised in a Russian orphanage ........Her adoptive Mum used singing and voice lessons to help Diana overcome the trauma of her earliest years.......
