Some people look, some people see, and some people have vision. Considering how iconic most of Edward Nortons parts have been and the fact that he is directly or indirectly responsible for the outcomes i would say he deserves to make changes.
He played iconic roles in other peoples projects. He is an actor that is too big for his own boots. His most recent project was a flop. His most recent project made 18 million on a 26 million budget. People do not want to work with him as he is too much effort and his own films are a flop. Maybe he will mellow with age but that is unlikely.
bighand69 How many flops has he made compared to how much money he has made for other major huge movies is what it comes down to though? What actor/actress hasn’t starred in a flop or two here and there? Just the amount of money he made for his role in Fight Club alone would make up for him being in flops for all his other roles tbh.
"Hollywood" just doesn't have the vision that Norton has. It all happens for the best as Norton can put all his talent to work now! Much to the dismay of "Hollywood"...Rock on Ed!!!
Ang Lee's Hulk was better than Nortons Hulk, if only marginally. Not really Norton's fault, I just couldn't take Ted the Bell Boy seriously as a convincing villain.
Edwards is an extraordinary actor. Perhaps he’s like the Steve Jobs of theatre. That version of Incredible Hulk got me totally interested in Edwards. I totally loved him in Birdman, incredible performance. Yes I believe he has the capacity for becoming a great director.
He's an infinitely better actor than the vast majority of Hollywood, Bollywood or any other place. He has several movies that are classic performances and all time greats.
Edward Norton is one of the best actors of the last 50 years, easily. I could see where he might be a bit of a pain to work with, but a lot of the best in the business seem to have a bit of that reputation. I hope he does make movies on his own terms. There's plenty of crappy movies being constantly pumped out of Hollywood, so I'm all for someone with some standards to give us something else.
Hollywood is seriously lacking talent! The junk they spit out as “movies” is beyond me. Yes sounds like a difficult actor to work with, but what about his point of view? I’d love to see him in more roles as a leading man.
Ive heard that his character in Birdman was pretty accurate of how he is in real life lol. Arrogant and always trying to control the set(telling people how to act, demanding script rewrites etc). @@jodie3950 you are a fool,he was hired to act not to direct or show how he want the movie to go...it's like hiring a builder to build a two small houses for you but the builder says "no i will build one big house, that will look perfect' like bro i hired you to build two small houses for me not one big house same apply to his shitty situation as hulk, marvel hired him to play hulk not to direct it,he was hired to act not to direct...i hate it when people think they are too much or too high and fools like you praise people like that.
@@jodie3950 obviously marvel is just making superhero movies for teenagers
At this point it's pretty clear Hollywood is just hindering Norton, rather than the other way.
I agree with him about American history x, I can't see over 30 minutes cut from that movie. Should have won best picture
Ramsay Bolton- Thogh I have Amarican History on as second best, I still think his role in that first movie as him being a psycho altar boy, Is his absolutely best role EVER! I SOOOO bought that. I sat with my jaws on my knees at the end, there ; )
Personally, I think he’s an amazing actor. However, if he’s as difficult to work with as they say, I can understand why he’s being blacklisted. It’s a shame though. He has so much talent to share.
They can't take the fact that he's one of the best actors EVER
saleem mumo I could tell you at least 50 who were/are much better

Norton’s ground breaking debut in primal fear was no accident. His performance must have been seen as a brand new gold mine in the eyes of the movie makers.
Why this man never won an Oscar?
Right!
funkymara93 read the title
@Fly by night Couldn't agree more!
@Joe Me 😂stop!😂
because he sucks
Primal fear, fight club, American history. Oscar to this guy.
He was underrated in rounders
Birdman
The Red Dragon

I think Norton is a genius. That about covers it. I miss him in my movies.
Norton, for all his over zealous efforts, is a national treasure.
Ed presents like an artist. Eccentric, intense and captivating. Hope to see him on screen more.
Freaking adore Ed. If he's in it, I'll watch it. He's rarely made me regret this approach.
Edward Norton is truly talented and always gives captivating performances. He is so polished at his craft, I am always so convinced by his character I forget I am watching Edward Norton. Hollywood's barometer has malfunctioned for years. Give us more Edward Norton!
I love him and appreciate that he has the courage to piss off people in Hollywood because he’s not willing to stay within the framework of normality. Although I do wish he would play nice more often so that us the audience may have the pleasure of seeing him in more work
Normality and a bunch of Censorship to many realities.
except they HIRED HIM to stay within the framework. If I hire you to make burgers and you make green beans I'm going to fire you.
@@GreenEnvy. It's more like you hired him to make Big Mac's and then he invented his own hamburger that outsold it and you went all pissy about it.
@@mikaelandersson1288 Think from a producers perspective. You hired a man to ACT. You didn't hire him to re-write a script, only ACT. Now imagine how pissed you'd be if the man you hired to ACT showed up with a re-written script you hired another man for to write. You would be pissed. This was not part of the acting deal you hired him for. Please think logically.
@@GreenEnvy. He improved on the movie it's just too bad that the cry baby director couldn't handle it.
He's committed to his craft and vision. He aims to be among the stars.
I agree 👍
He aims to become a new Galaxy 😁
The world of "Instant Gratification" Celebrates Mediocrity! Look at the past and see how much talent had been wasted by so called "Raise of Hands" Decision Making process! Anyway I am a Edward Norton Fan And And Would Love To See Him Work With Nolan Sometime in Future!
Sounds like Norton is doing fine. The tone of this review isn't really justified by the facts presented.
I like Norton’s movies. That’s all that matters from a moviegoer’s perspective. I don’t have to work with him.
I’d rather watch a movie I enjoy than one I don’t but in which everyone got along great.
"I thought we should try to make one Marvel movie that was as good as the worst Chris Nolan movie" LOL
LOL!
The guy should just be a director.
Brandon Condon
It’s as simple as that.
But he seem to usually right so. Ha
He's right up there with the likes of Daniel Day-Lewis. A truly great actor. I wish he didn't piss people off so much though because I'd like to have seen more of him.
Nowhere near Lewis...that's crazy. He's an over rated above average actor at best...
Nah he’s really good, actually liked his acting on Red dragon and a far better Hulk
@Gloria Vargo No that literally validates my point about being overrated.
@@acomaslip5212 Gotta disagree with you there. While Norton is a fine actor, he is in no way in DDL's class. Not too many actors are.
@@markdominick3511 Yeah, you mean you agree then...
Wes Anderson doesn’t seem to have a problem with Ed.
Wes Andersen isn't good. Motherless Brooklyn was an abortion.
Because they’re both perfectionists.
No love for ROUNDERS? It's one of his best movies.
Hell yeah.... He played "the ass hole friend" part to the point in the movie....loved Malkovich as teddy KGB too.... "pey thait man hiis maaniy".

Norton is a genius and brilliant actor. He may have “quirks” but most supreme intellectuals do. He proved he is better than most all Hollywood idiots time after time. Now no one will hire him. He doesn’t fit the mold. Huge fan of yours Mr. Norton, keep being you.
He is an exceptional Actor! Big fan!
He’s one of the best actors in a current lame industry that is riddled with sci fi and less reality of true life..
Wake up, go out, talk to people, watch the news, live your life. There you go, reality and true life every day.
Jeff Jeff lol i don’t know anyone who knows any Norton movies lmao
@@jleonn8651 Then you clearly need to exit your cave and look his movies up. Dude is beyond phenomenal.
Jonathan
According to whom? Who considers him to be a world class actor?
@@jleonn8651 You're right, its really funny that you and your social environment are too dumb and narrowminded to watch a movie that provokes reflection about yourself and society. Pls tell me ur favourite movies. I want to laugh more.
Maybe he will mellow with age but that is unlikely.
bighand69
How many flops has he made compared to how much money he has made for other major huge movies is what it comes down to though? What actor/actress hasn’t starred in a flop or two here and there? Just the amount of money he made for his role in Fight Club alone would make up for him being in flops for all his other roles tbh.
"Hollywood" just doesn't have the vision that Norton has. It all happens for the best as Norton can put all his talent to work now! Much to the dismay of "Hollywood"...Rock on Ed!!!
Amazing actor - and now knowing that he writes and 'fixes' scripts he's shown to be even better :)
Best hulk
Marshall Mathers the 4th 😎
@Marshall Mathers the 4th agreed
Ang Lee's Hulk was better than Nortons Hulk, if only marginally. Not really Norton's fault, I just couldn't take Ted the Bell Boy seriously as a convincing villain.
Truong GameZ
Even the look of his Hulk was the best looking.
He is a great actor. I agree he should make his own movies.
He's always been one of my favorite actors! If he's in it, you know it's going to be good.
"If you want to make enemies try to change something"
I was thinking throughout the video that he should make his own movies! Good decision, I love him
I’d rather have edward norton withOut hollyweird.
Check him out in "The Prestige."
TheMercilessEye Dude the Prestige is with Jackman and Bale. I believe you meant the Illusionist? Nice.
@@UNGETABLE7 Oh frack... thanks. Durr on me... xP
I just watched a great movie with him and Jessica Beil.. It was fantastic.
“The Illusionist”.
Not as good as The Prestige
kevincarter2020 Both bloody good though.
No movie with Jessica Beil is good.
Anthony Warren I actually believed that too.. Until I saw it
He’s one of my fave actors!! All this information tells me it’s that he’s serious about his art.
Ive heard that his character in Birdman was pretty accurate of how he is in real life lol. Arrogant and always trying to control the set(telling people how to act, demanding script rewrites etc). Still my boy though. He’s always a reason for me seeing a film, just seems working with him is a nightmare.
Edit: damn i commented before I even watched the video and they touched on everything I said lol
Not only should he have won the Oscar for American History X without doubt one of the most memorable performance in film
1st rule of fight club
Don’t talk about American history x’s edit
2nd rule of fight club
Don’t talk about American history x’s edit
The final scene in Primal Fear. Chilling! And all down to close-up acting.
