- Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your TOSHIBA L655 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
Have fun and good luck!!

Almost 8 years later, but still helped me a lot . Thanks!
I wasn't unable to fix the laptop, but at least I was able to test everything I needed to test.
When I made these videos like 8-9 years ago, I didn't know someone will still need them in a freaking 2021:-)
Thank you for watching and please subscribe, like, share etc etc :-)
Have a nice day!
Dude, thanks for putting this vid on the net, I could not figure out the part to pull the strip off just above the keyboard to access the remaining screws
there are some kind of hooks, just bend it a little and they should pop out. If you will brake it don't worry, screws should keep them in place any way. start from that side where screws comes out and everything should be fine.
wow, did he really have to Manhandle the Keyboard to get it out? I've taken my L655D-S5050 apart at least Twice (I'm actually typing this Comment on it!) and I always used Hand Tools, Took my Time, and was careful to not Break anything!
Yep, my first videos are quit brutal. :)
I need to change the CMOS battery on my L655 but it look to complicated on this model.
Thank you so much. Got stuck at 3:05 lol, no idea that piece came out.
You are welcome! I hope you figure that out.
You are welcome!
Have a nice day!
Great video! Good idea to use power tools in the video to keep things moving along!
Hi, it depends how dirty your fan is. If you will need to lift up a motherboard then usually you need to remove a hard drive. To take exactly, to remove a memory and hard drive (together with hard drive caddy) will take maybe one minute and you will not damage anything...
depend on a situation, if they just stuck and not rotate - you may try a screw extruder bit with a drill.
If nothing changed in a laptop performance no need to worry about. If something is changed - you will notice that.
Hope nothing is wrong...
You probably need to buy this tiny part from somewhere where you will be able to find it and replace it... maybe unscrew from the back, can't tell exactly. Usually that part goes together with palmrest, but you may google for it...
I noticed that the anti-static wrist strap is not actually GROUNDED, which makes it perfectly useless.... But I did get the info I needed, thanks to you, and NO thanks to Toshiba...
I love the video. That's all lot of work.
Same comment as another video. Power tools are not for laptop disassembly - especially like this. I know you have screwdrivers, I see them in the video. What's worse, this is #2 on Google on how to disassemble this model. The other person also used power tools - he thankfully left off the sound of all the grinding and stripping of screws. I wouldn't let you near my laptop.
Yes, you will need to remove a motherboard. You probably can leave LCD screen in place, but this is not a big deal comparable to whole project.
I have that same problem hence why i am here. There should of been a plastic cube-like thing around it that broke on mine so i have to replace that might be the same for you as well. Goodluck.
one like from Brazil
Thanks!
Where is the microphone located on these things so I can break or remove it?
it is in a webcam
Thanks for this. I have one of these, planning on upgrading the screen to 1440p ips, and ram to 8gb,and new battery. Any tips? Thanks.
You need to flip the motherboard to be able to get to it. It is close to a card reader.
You are very welcome!
There can be some damage on the case bottom or dc jack by it self, did you inspected it?
Upgraded the cpu on my laptop, thanks!
I did this to reset the bios battery and left just a few marks and keyboard got dented just a bit on the escape key in the corner. I usually work on desktops the most. Laptops are more delicate.
I have a question regarding the charger port. My laptop suddenly stopped working with the charger and when I opened it up the metal end piece that you plug in to wasn't held down by anything, and wiggled right up. I was curious as to whether or not it has to be soldered down? because yours seemed to be rather secure
Stanley 66-052 should be enough + wired anti static band.
Have a good luck!
Where is the serial number for the motherboard? I have the same laptop so does it matter if I just shop around for a Toshiba L655 motherboard?
the bottom plates(first few things you take off) feel like there held in by something besides screws, do you have to just pull them off?
You are welcome!
I have to change my fan, and i was just wondering what sized tools you used?
thanks
Look for some hidden screws, did you remove hdd, dvd ?
Oh god I'm panicking. Is the black thing supposed to come off with the keyboard input? Did I just break it?
Mitchell Stuart Oh, no panic on titanic! :))) If you didn't broke it completely, you should be able to lock the Keyboard Cable back.
Hey I have a Toshiba Satellite l675d s7052
And a few days ago I tried to turn it on and my screen stayed black and my fan and HDD ran for about 2-3 seconds and then completely stopped and I keep getting all these different answers on how to fix it can I get one solid answer PLEASE! And the troubleshooting doesn't work btw.
Question. Where do I get a replacement fan for a L655-s5112rd?
hey i have a toshiba L655 and i want it to perform better. now i have 4gbram intel pentium and 500HDD. you think i can upgrade my ram to 8gb my CPU to like an i3
Can't tell exactly. Depend on what numbers do you have after L665 ... besides it is L655
Hey mate, i wanna clean only the fan, Do i need take apart the HDD and memory Ram and all those stuffs?
Hi there, I have a toshiba L655-1EM. I can't seem to take off the casing, I've taken all the screws out and detached all the ribbons but there seems to be a rivet in the middle of the laptop that you can't unscrew. Any advice? Thanks!
So many screws ... it takes forever to take apart!
Did you reset it and what happened?
how can i look for this s number behind the L655?
if something is broken in replacement - maybe will be better to ask a replacement of this replacement :)
I have 3 stubborn screws that just will not budge. Do you know any tricks to loosen them up?
if I wanna get access to the Fan I just remove the cover and that is?. I mean I dont wanna remove any hard drive to clean the fan (I'm scary about that) it is possible?
Is this the old or newer l665? I have 4gb of ram and want to upgrade to 8gb if possible?
You need to remove a palmrest at least and if it will be very dirty remove motherboard... be sure you know how...
Thanks im trying to fix the "an unexpected i/o error has occured" "0xc00000e9" issue. I am pretty sure its the hard drive is there any way to test without having to boot up the computer i can only do it from a cd/dvd.
Once in a while all laptops having some problems, so ...
Heat sink can be dirty.
glad that aimy laptop he iabusing with that electric screwdriver .
i have to replace the cooler fan,can you tell me if the little round protrusion on the side is very relevant(i ordered a replacment and thats the only thing broken)..
Hey do you know where the jumpers are on the L655D S5109
Brandon Foster Nope, I would just carefully inspect a motherboard for jumpers.
There are differences between this and my 655 just to remove the optical drive
Is it safe to remove the clear plastic adhesive sheet on top of the circuit board(?)?
+Thanh On should be , but why do you need to remove it?
+Thanh On should be , but why do you need to remove it?
Thanks a lot !
Upgraded my toshiba from the p6200 to a i5 480m. Runs exactly the same, no faster...oh and ALL videos play slightly faster then they should. And there seems to be no permanent fix. Looks like im swapping back to the p6200....oh well
Hey reg where can I buy spare parts

Thanks
Thanks!
You are welcome!

una pregunta le corre fortnite si la repontencio
help...help!
and reset the bios from mother board
if you flip motherboard - you will see it on the right side of a memory card slot
I dont see the BIOS battery anywhere!!!
Any one knows about the cooler system error: *"A problem with the cooler system has been detected. Please turn off your computer immediately, and return it for service"*
My fan is not broken or dust filled, and it works fine after y get this message it stops, but then i restart my laptop and gets working again. This happens to me after i update to Windows 10, so i think is most a software problem than a hardware one.
+LightMusicK i got the same thing , seemed hot so im taking it apart now
WalterWalkie I just replaced the fan bro, seems like it was the one who was causing the problem
nice
You are weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelcom! :))
sure be careful good luck on ever getting that laptop to work again seeing is how rough you were at taking it apart my thought plus the charging connector will never work again you will need to replace it you're sure not a professional
+angela prestwood ahahaha, I am very close to the best. You just didn't got the purpose of this video.
way to go idaho..
ytmm9055 actually Nevada :)
I apologize, it was inappropriate.
+Rob Jennings hey man, it's all cool. Sorry I wasn't polite either. You have a nice day!
Why so aggressive?😂
Needed to make it quick I guess.
+regazzz hey btw I tried to clean the fan and I took everything out and I did and cleaned the fan cuz my laptop kept shutting off by itself so when I finished cleaning it I put everything back and turned it on and it did it again like 5 minutes later, you have any suggestions?
maybe there is still some dust inside between fan and sink (unless you took apart fan and sink)
did you used a fresh thermal compound?
+regazzz i don't know really I just clean where ever I saw dirtyness in the fan
sometimes, the amount of dust that is build in between fan and heatsink is so huge that even blowing it with a blower will not remove it.
Wifi card.
Все винты посрывал
Да не, все норм. Ну может парочку, ноут всеравно на разборку а не починку.
Well this was awkward-
What exactly? :-)
He was so careless in handling the laptop. He even used the electric drill for the screws. It could have been helpful to viewers but the way he did it was really disappointing. Another thing the video shots were too far to be seen, you would never know how to remove some delicate parts especially the data cable was swiftly pulled from the connections carelessly. It's a total wrecked.
I know this is suppose to be impressive, but it's just the opposite. Any idiot can turn a screwdriver and any idiot can take something apart. NO purpose, no rime or reason behind video. Just blind ... whatever.
+Rob Jennings hey, no offense, but show me what you did that is so impressive, that you can call other people idiots?
Thanks!
