When a client gives you a very very old laptop to dispose of it and you need to take out the hard drive first before you can >.< Thank you very much for this video :D
thanks for this.. I just used it to get down to the processor fan which was completely caked in dust. Found out that it was the culprit for my wife's laptop suddenly working at a snail's pace. I read that the processor can be dumbed down in power if it's getting too hot and apparently the fan could hardly work with all that dust in there. If only I'd known that before I spent 2 days reinstalling the OS and drivers and programs!!!
Gunna do this now. Thanks for the vid..this laptop wasn't very straight-forward on how to take it apart. My gf spilled coffee on her laptop and the keyboard sticks like crazy, I hope I can take that apart as well (it looks like the keyboard is all one piece in your video), also it needs a RAM upgrade. Thanks for the tutorial
I will certainly use this video when I clean out the fan. I can't believe they didn't put an intake vent, who the hell designs a laptop without that? Thanks!
cool vid my daughter as this laptop and the dc jack is playing up you have to position the charger in a certain way b4 it charges am i right in thinking its a strip down just to change that dc cable wire, think i'll let the shop sort it to many screws for my liking.
I can't believe you have to go through this much work if you want to just open this notebook in order to clean the fan! Most laptops just have a convenient panel covering the fan that's easy to open.
It depends how this nylon protective is attached to a keyboard. If it is glued very well than probably yes, you will destroy it. If you will be able to detach this protection and keyboard will look fine and work well except Ctrl button than take out key and look what is broken, if it is fixable - (buy part somewhere on eBay) and fix it, if not than buy a keyboard and change it.
Yeah I agree, its only for pros who repair many laptops a day, maybe a cheaper solution for enthusiasts would be Solderquik or Chipquik, which is a low melting point solder alloy, that could help in removing those SMD's or IC's, but also a heat gun is a helpful solution, besides some better 60w soldering iron + Solderquik :)
It most likely will be a combined cable for screen and webcam. Probably, technically it can be a separate cable, but I am not sure you will be able to find this...
To clean laptop you pretty much have to do the same what I did on this video, you probably don't have to take out monitor. Unfortunately this laptop is not build for heavy gaming. And if you need some multitask laptop than better look for some laptop equipped with i7 processor. It is completely up to you. For me it was not super easy to open up this laptop. I did it, since this video is here :) Make sure you will make notes where all screws came from. Make few pictures or something. Good luck!
I have exactly this laptop. It shuts down due to overheating when i play games. I was looking for some tutorial for cleaning vents and replace the heat sink, and then I saw this video. I just can't believe all the stuff you have to remove to reach the CPU cooling system. And then it is that the laptop it's COMPLETELY CLOSED. Now i understood why it shuts down when playing games. The laptop barely can breath. I looked the BIOS too, and there is no temperature sensor option for enable/disable.
I have watched your video about how to open probook 4510s. And I have one question. Do you know is it possible to change a video card in this laptop? I guess all of the 4510s are the same.
Thanks! It all depend on what exactly is happening with this two keys... But if you can push them like any other key, means that keyboard needs to be change.
Oh yeah, the design of this laptop is hilarious! Please not that this is not a fan cleaning video, but taking it apart video, but over all you will be able to figure out how to get to a fan by watching that video.
Blowing into in some cases will not help, because if there dust build up dramatically you will just push it on fan and it can even stop rotating. There is no easy way. But it is ok to give up. I, for example, don't fix my car, I go to a friend. Friend don't fix his computer :) Any way, this laptop is pretty hard to take apart, and put back together. You must understand that you need to remember where to put screws and all parts and cables. If you are not sure - don't do that!
Some motherboards can be with soldered/glued CPU also... but it all depend on a motherboard number... Ram is 4 gb max, if I am not wrong... You can also upgrade HDD...
Oh, do you mean that thing that just clicks right out if you push it? And this video did help, actually fixed another problem that I did not even notice (Fan blade was hitting against it's chamber) thanks!
Hello Regazzz this video is great, but I have a slight problem. I was removing the top cover and I got to the part where you pull the top cover off at an angle. A little piece that looks like some kinda switch component popped out. Its not the wifi switch, that is still intact. It is about an inch long and has rectangle body with what looks like latches. It has a long skinny round piece sticking out of one of the sides. Please let me know if you can help.
Thanks for the answer, mate. Just one more question: If I want to remove the screen, do I need to take whole laptop apart? or just take screws of the bezel, remove the bezel out, than 2 x4 screws on the side of the lcd holders and that is it? cheers, Pav
Hi thanks for the video. my laptop runs up to 80c temperature. should i open it and try to vacuum clean cooler or i shouldnt do that? is there a better way to do it? i am afraid that my laptop will boil :s
You already changed motherboard and now it is still not working? You know, it can be pretty much everything... Does any lights blink or something when you plug it to power source?
If I will put mariachi's music - someone will ask for sure why not Dub Step. If I will use Dub Step - someone will ask better off without music. And with my videos anybody can turn on whatever he or she like or want and it will be ok :)))))))))))))
A very strange design, Worst part is getting the top back on. You have to grab it from behind and force the plugs in while holding the LCD level with the ground. Not the easiest thing to do. Thanks for the Video bro.
Hey my laptop's looks pretty similar to yours. The fan is making a weird noise and the problem could simply be dust build up. I tried blowing compressed air into the heat duct but still didn't work. How can I take mine apart to fix this problem?
ruthless mode to disassemble...but efficient :) Can you help me with something? I have 2 keys that doesn't work, "n" and "b". It's something I could do to repair it or I have to buy a new keyboard because of these 2 keys? to write them I use ASCII code and it's uncomfortable to use like this. Thanks you!
What ey work just to change harddrive! They where not made consumer disable those days. Today you need one hangrip and the whole plate on the back is loose.
Yeah. Thats what i've been thinking about. To buy an external one (but found plenty of them from older devices):) Thanks again, for good video. Have fun disassebling more laptops:)
hello there , i am having a problem with my ctrl button... it keeps staying pressed... When i opened it my keyboard had a naylon style... something like protective... but inside that there is a lot of dust and some hair... if i remove it and then clean it , will the keyboard be destroyed? Or you have anny explanation how to fix this? thank you...
hey. thanks for this video. i just want to ask you something. is there some easier way how to get to the vent or do i have to dismantle everything like you did? thank you
Well, it isn't really about what "works for you" but rather about basic physics. If it isn't connected to a grounded object there is nowhere for the static charge to go, hence it does not actually do anything to protect your sensitive electronics.
And how can i clean fan and heat sink? I have a huge problem, my laptop (this in the vid) some times goes off when i am playing or doing many things at same time :s Can i do it or it's better go to a pro?
My 4510p will shut down with power cut suddenly, and can't power on without the battery installed? Is it an adopter problem or chips/board problem? Thanks a lot!
@jflasson and @regazzz: for the esd setup to work the mat needs to be grounded and the wristband connected to either ground or the mat itself. Even better if the computer's system ground is also grounded, at least upon starting the dismantling.
Please, that peace of plastic that has holes in it, for speakers i guess, one that has power button on (you took it off around 2 min), what is it called? Mine is kinda warped, wavey and i would like to replace JUST that piece, but i have no idea where to search or what to search. Thank you in advance
Do you know what single cable from LCD matrix do? That connects near Battery? Because when i've tried to disconnect it, the connector just broke. But everything works fine as i see.
Help.. I got this exact laptop and it stopped working i switched out the charging port, the mother board and hard drive and it still won't work plz help!?
@regazzz do you know what's the function of cable from 7:08 ? Because I accidently broke the plug at the end of it and despite that my laptop works fine...
hi buddy i getting a error message 601 on my hp 4510s saying replace my internal batter were can i locate this and were can i buy a replacment from thankd mike
This is one of the worst laptop designs I had a "pleasure" to deal with. Thank you for the video, it saved me tons of time and frustration!
Jeden z trudniejszych laptopów jakie rozbierałem, Twoje wideo bardzo mi pomogło
Thxx very much, even 10 years later thus video can be helpful!
When a client gives you a very very old laptop to dispose of it and you need to take out the hard drive first before you can >.<
Thank you very much for this video :D
Hi, clean a fan and heat sink, take out all dust and you can also use ARCTIC SILVER for CPU.
thanks for this.. I just used it to get down to the processor fan which was completely caked in dust. Found out that it was the culprit for my wife's laptop suddenly working at a snail's pace. I read that the processor can be dumbed down in power if it's getting too hot and apparently the fan could hardly work with all that dust in there. Yep, I am very glad that my videos help! :) Thank you!

7:11 to 7:15. Also thanks for good video. It helped a lot.

Be careful with screws. Make some kind of map of screws on a regular paper, where you pulled what. I hope an HD video will help you!
Thank you...I'm diagnosing one of these and I was CLUELESS on how to dismantle it.😅
You are welcome!

I am not sure what cable exactly are you talking about. Can you point at some timing in a video if this cable is visible there?
Thanks!
It all depend on what exactly is happening with this two keys...
But if you can push them like any other key, means that keyboard needs to be change.
Should work, just don't forget to turn external LCD thru keyboard Fn+F8 or what is there :)
Thx. So there are only possible to change a processor, and RAM to 8 gb? Am I right?
Oh yeah, the design of this laptop is hilarious! Please not that this is not a fan cleaning video, but taking it apart video, but over all you will be able to figure out how to get to a fan by watching that video.
yes got a new battery buddy working great just need to know the screw driver to take the cpu and heat sink off as over heating and dusting
Blowing into in some cases will not help, because if there dust build up dramatically you will just push it on fan and it can even stop rotating. There is no easy way. But it is ok to give up. I, for example, don't fix my car, I go to a friend. Friend don't fix his computer :)

I think it is microphone cable ... try to call someone and see if it is works
You already changed motherboard and now it is still not working? You know, it can be pretty much everything...

Je je je .. No, no I just joking , but thanks
Great! You are welcome!
I'm pretty sure the intake is through small slits in the keyboard located directly above the blower, but don't worry, that's ridiculous in itself.
You are very welcome!
Does it powers with battery but only on power cord it doesn't powers on?
A very strange design, Worst part is getting the top back on.
You have to grab it from behind and force the plugs in while holding the LCD level with the ground.
Not the easiest thing to do. Thanks for the Video bro.
You are 100% right!
I think 601 is because of your accumulator, battery not a CMOS battery ...
Yes it is. Thanks. It seems cheaper to buy a new one, than fixing motherboard connector.
yeah, it's look's like dc jack is going bad, on my personal laptop same thing, not very bad tough but still annoying.
Hey my laptop's looks pretty similar to yours. The fan is making a weird noise and the problem could simply be dust build up. I tried blowing compressed air into the heat duct but still didn't work. How can I take mine apart to fix this problem?

What ey work just to change harddrive! They where not made consumer disable those days. Today you need one hangrip and the whole plate on the back is loose.
(sorry for such a huge delay in for answer!)
YES, you are right! It is a CMOS!
Yeah. Thats what i've been thinking about. To buy an external one (but found plenty of them from older devices):) Thanks again, for good video. Have fun disassebling more laptops:)

Buen trabajo, me suscribo. Saludos desde Perú.
Nice work, im subscribing. Greetings from Peru.
Try a working battery and see if message will still appear.
was the battery all sweet now
Shouldn't you hook up the ESD-bracelet to a grounded object, such as a radiator?
Well, it isn't really about what "works for you" but rather about basic physics. If it isn't connected to a grounded object there is nowhere for the static charge to go, hence it does not actually do anything to protect your sensitive electronics.
Can i know why is fps in games on that laptop soo low am i need to open laptop and clear it or wth i need to do i tryed all
wow, 10x, its useful!
You are welcome!
Thank you very much for your professional advice!!!
You are welcome!!!
But what if you use Bga Rework machine, could it do the job, or its not worth repairing this chip ?
Bundle of Thanks bro, it help me alot
And how can i clean fan and heat sink? I have a huge problem, my laptop (this in the vid) some times goes off when i am playing or doing many things at same time :s
Can i do it or it's better go to a pro?
Great! You are welcome!
My screen isn't working after desassembly. Any tips regazzz?
Thanks, going to use this when I clean the fan later today. Holy shit there are alot of screws to keep track on.
My 4510p will shut down with power cut suddenly, and can't power on without the battery installed? Is it an adopter problem or chips/board problem? Thanks a lot!
On the other hand this microphone can be skipped by using external mic, but you will need to get a microphone first :))
I am not sure, you need to check this processor and motherboard chip set specs.
@jflasson and @regazzz: for the esd setup to work the mat needs to be grounded and the wristband connected to either ground or the mat itself. Even better if the computer's system ground is also grounded, at least upon starting the dismantling.
Thank you! This one was a pain!
This type of anti-static device works for me. And I don't have a radiator :)
Hi, I hope this video will help you out!
(I also hope that I made note about palmrest part that slides out to the right, If I am not wrong)
thanks very helpful guide video. Thanks for your effort
I have a little problem..BT cable in ur notebook isn't plugged...i haveremoved it and i forgot the place where its situated

But everything works fine as i see.
did you fixed it?
Whoever decided that HPs would be unnecessarily complicated can burn in hell.
Hi, this is not possible, GPU is soldered glued to motherboard.
Thank you very much!
Help.. I got this exact laptop and it stopped working i switched out the charging port, the mother board and hard drive and it still won't work plz help!?
I hope it helped.
You are welcome!!! :)
@regazzz do you know what's the function of cable from 7:08 ? Because I accidently broke the plug at the end of it and despite that my laptop works fine...
Hi guys. Do you know if I remove completely the screen including joints, will this laptop still works when connected to the table monitor? cheers, Pav
If you have this machine - you can try it - but to buy it only for fixing one laptop will be too expensive.
non system disk or disk error
How do I fix that on this model
yes brought one will let you know thanks
Merci beaucoup! Thank you very much!
hi buddy i getting a error message 601 on my hp 4510s saying replace my internal batter were can i locate this and were can i buy a replacment from thankd mike
