- Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your TOSHIBA Satellite L300 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
This video is like insurance for your laptop. With this video and some skills you will be always sure that at least you can try to repair your laptop. If it's broken you don't have to sell it or throw it away. You can find some new or used parts somewhere and change it. It maybe will be your new job or hobby. And if it didn't worked out you still will be able to ask somebody else to fix it.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
Have fun and good luck!!

Thanks, this was useful. For anyone doing this, 13 x F6 Screws on the underside have to be removed first and 3 x F3 from the battery bay in order to remove the keyboard surround on the upperside.
That is brilliant, regazz - how I wish there were more "how to" presentations in your style - you make completely clear what needs to be done without annoying music or irritating 'cool' vocals. Bravo! This the best video of its kind that I have seen online.
I applaud him for not putting in music etc.
Thanks a brilliant video, helped me repair an old L300 that I was ready to bin.
Thanks again.
Thank you I fixed my friends laptop, without you I would have broken it!
Luc Chene hey, that's a great news!
Thanks regazzz. Really appreciate the info here. Also much appreciate no music.
Don't forget to watch a first part of the video, there should be a link to it
In the first part I am taking all screws out. So, if you take all necessary screws out and unplug cable without damaging latch (on the motherboard) than you will be able to put it back, Be very gentle with all this connectors.
Thanks for the 2 part video , I had to replace the fan in my Toshiba L300. Your video showed me what I had to do. Thanks!
Thank you. That was enormously helpful. I was able to fix my own laptop and save myself a bloody fortune.
i have the same laptop as you same model same everything i accidentally pushed the screen to hard and you know the rest the screen got damage and i want to replace the screen this is the perfect video to do that thanks for uploading this video
On some laptops you need, on other not, all depend on construction.
Thanks for advice for people who will watch that video later!
There,s no option to change battery cr without full dissambly??
Thanks for this (great) video. Very very helpful, without annoying music or noise.
And with the HD resolution even better. Thanks to this video i was able to clean my girlfriend´s PC. Sorry for any mistake i might´ve written, my english is a bit rusty. Thanks.
You are welcome!
Make sure you didn't miss first part of this video, A was greedy to re upload this one because it had 5k views and first two minutes was frozen. Now I will anyway don't do that since there are 34k views :)
No problem with English.
i couldnt tell from the video but is the processor soldered in? or was that what you pulled out just before you started on the screen. or was that the video card?
Awesome but im having some trouble inserting the thingy that you remove at 1:30. Is there a technique or something to put it in. Im worried that I might damage the strap.
Thanks man, really helpful!
You are welcome!!!
GPU is next to CPU on motherboard. But it is soldered/glued to motherboard.
what was that, broken power jack or broken case bottom?
Worth bearing in mind if you follow this, is that what he doesn't show you is that there are a lot of screws underneath (including 3 in the battery bay) that need to be removed before the main top cover with mouse pad etc can be taken off. Unscrew every screw you can see under there.
This video saved some money for me. Thank you!
I am not sure what is medion laptop... Best what you can do is to remove lcd, and find an exact number on a back of it and buy same one. That will work for sure.
I have one of these, only need to change the CMOS battery, total stripdown to access the battery...madness ...might just cut a hole in the case.
Thanks for responding. Wait for you to upload the video, but how long it will take to upload?.
me watching the video on my laptop while disassemble at the same time ',)
Funny huh :-)
HI, thanks for your videos. They are very useful. I have a toshiba L300 but the monitor lose the backlight. I could see the screen but without light and then I can't read nothing. If I connect the laptop to my TV, I can see perfect the images (in the tv). COuld you help me to fix it? Thank you very much!
Hello, it is probably LCD is bad.
when you take the keyboard out, are you able to connect it back if youre looking to clean it ?
Which one is the graphics card? Can I change my g card with a better one? What does it support (the L300 I mean...)? In a PC there are AGP, PCI-E...and so on, but what type of format does a laptop have?
Thanks! ... Now How do I put it back together?
You don't need to remove wifi, but it is not a big deal to remove it. Don't forget to watch a first part of this video, there should be a link somewhere...
processor is not soldered, you can pulled it out
Can you tell me what is on the motherboard on bottom left of machine as when I tap there the couple of lines I get on my screen disappear..so wonder if it's fixable? Cheers
Hi, what type of problem do you experience?
this little thing goes parallel to a motherboard. Better to use two little screwdrivers.
Be gentle, they can break.
(This video is missing a first part, you may need it. The link is in the video)
Cheers, great help!
It should work, unless there is a lock that preventing to do that. Watch a help video that appear on the left lower part of this video (maybe you will get an idea on how to unlock it)
hi, i have the toshiba satellite l300-20z , the dc power jacket needs to be substituted , how can i find one compatible to place?
im not getting power to laptop before it totally stop working said i needed to replace battery so do you have to have battery in for it to work? if so do you think if i ordered new battery would fix the problem? thank you..
Good day! Can I ask? If the ram w/ 2666 mhz is compatible on the toshiba satilite pro s300 if not what mhz and gb are compatible on it? Thank you in advance!
I think it should be on the motherboard 5.32 on the left side of card reader...
Hey in thinking of fixing my sisters laptop. Any suggestions on memory or video upgrades for this model. I just want a few little improvements in functionality. Thanks
I have this kind of laptop and it doesn't have power...what do you think is the problem..i already brought it to the technician and he fixed it but after a month it shut down agian and don't have power again..
just to let you know if you open the keyboard pannel at one end the rest pops of much quicker.
***** Hey, I always encourage people to give such a useful advice like this one! Thanks for sharing!!!
True, i can attest t this via experience ;)
How did u took the plastic shroud?Mine seems stuck on top middle to be exat.. =(.
Not at that moment! As soon I will get this one, I will upload it. I have more other Toshiba's, you can search on my channel page
I don't think so. It is integrated.
is it possible to access the CPU fan without complete dissasembly or will the entire front end + motherboard ned to come out?
Where is the cmos battery
Should be visible in this video...
hi. I have Toshiba satellite L300 - 1AM, Model No. PSLBGE - 00500GRU. I need change matrix, what model of matrix i need?
my display is broken and i want to replace it. a friend has a used display from a medion laptop with the same size, do you think it is compatible with this one?
This sure helped me very much. Thanks!
On other note, I just disassembled my L300 and I'm selling all the pieces (except the LCD) so if anyone is interested just send an e-mail or something, and again, thanks for the video!
André Pinto :)
youu are from each country i need the motherboard
you cant get to the cpu by removing the back rather than completely disassembling the front?
i have a question. when i play videos or games on my laptop the sound keeps cutting off i tried everything to fix it,what do you think and how can i fix this problem or what to buy?
First, try to reinstall fresh drivers, to cover that part of troubleshooting.
Number on the back of actual LCD panel.
If battery is not working, but it should work without battery if plugged in to a power source... so, I would not tell it is possible that it will work with new battery...
L300 has an integrated gpu, you can not upgrade it. Sorry.
You probably can upgrade cpu, ram and hard drive (but you need to check specs for you motherboard)
isn't that only a cable?
You are welcome!
Where is the CMOS battery on this thing
I have a problem my laptop turns on but the screen is black and wont turn on it isn't the lcd do you know what it is ?
My laptop turns on but the screen won't it is
Not the lcd i tested it on a monitor and it still
Won't turn on do you know what it is ?
regazzz Maybe you can help me on this... I recently got this model and am thinking about replacing the CPU for an dual core. Is that even possible? Would it even boot up?
BlankFX hey, the way it should be done - you can check specs for your motherboard and "Google it" for what type of CPU can be used. It's a bit of a research, but anybody should be able to handle it.
First step is figuring out what model you have.. there is LOTS of L300's and many new CPU's won't work unless you update the BIOS first. A quick rule of thumb is as long as it's the same line of CPU's with the same socket it *should work but Google it.
Thanks! I had to take it apart just to get the freaking fan... Guess what? It's not compatible w/the other laptop... I just wasted 1 hour and 30 minutes of my life lol. Thank anyways... at least I learned how to take apart a laptop.
+regazzz what is the that small card next to wifi card?
I do not have it now, I just checked it was some p505. Sorry
I forget my password can you please help me somebody told me open your laptop take something and put it back it will be open automatically actually I don't know what I'm doing I open on my laptop please help
Do you have a video opening a Toshiba Satellite l845?, (Sorry for my bad english).
Thank you! Just do it!
Hello were is the bios pile bios?
Hey! Thanks!
Where is cmos battery please? Thks
How do i put the touchpad ribbon back in! omg its not working anymore:(
maybe u should make it clearer. here I was trying to open the top part by force. not realising that I had to unscrew the bottom first. thanks anyway lol
Look, this is my problem video. It is one of the first ones and for some reason first part was stuck for 2 minutes. I cut it off and placed a link in this video to the first part.
Yup.
Me sirvio de mucho, gracias por compartir.
I have the same model laptop how should I fix my noisy fan? Its always on and makes noise ....
It's getting too hot and dirty i bet.. probably too many background app;s running. Try blasting the 2 vents for the CPU fan with canned air (if you don't want to take it apart and clean it manually) I think your machine is running too many processes by the sounds of it though.. When it's idle at room temp the fan shouldn't be kicking on.. the CPU heats up because of usage..
Thanks, a great help
***** You are welcome!
Thanks, a great help :)
Can I change video card Toshiba Satellite l300 ?
Please help me :/
what number do you mean? thanks for your help!
where is the CMOS battery?
How can I change the CMOS Battery on Toshiba l300?
pretty much same as apart, but backwards :)
THANKS!
That's sad. But understandable. This laptop is pretty old and GTA 4 needs more power.
at 1:30 I am removing a wires from WiFi card. They go up.
Thanks!!!
good job
If there was nothing on external monitor - it is probably a bad gpu, so, with this one it means bad motherboard...
Great!
Pic don't open :(
I accidentally ripped off the yellow stickers on the screen part. Didn't think of taking the brackets off the side. My laptop's motherboard fried apparently but I don't see any visible damage after dismantling the laptop
No VGA output... No screen display! Busted Motherboard??
Nice video, but you are clumsy... you dropped the keyboard and when you unplugged it, you just pulled it. It has clips like the touchpad so why to pull hard?
Yup i could tell by the way he opened the plastic strip by jabbing a screw driver in the middle and prying it up etc.. i Take it carefully from the far side (either one) carefully so not to scratch or gouge it up. And his ignorance about the ribbon clips is not good.. if you don't undo them it's going to be hard getting the ribbon back in later.. but yeah sloppy amateur butcher job LOL
You don't need to dissamble all the computer just to acess the motherboard. I didn't took the screen off and dissambled my computer. Not to mention for a novice person, is better not to take the screen off, it's not my case but is less work xD
Can you put ssd in the toshiba satellite l300?
You can put ssd pretty much everywhere - the only question will it really benefit it?
That is not a question ..it's fact.
The fact is an SSD would make the PC waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay faster.. 100% guaranteed.
And there is different types of SSD's out there so just make sure to get one that fits.. shouldn't be hard to find.
No, not on this laptop.
Open up and change it :)
Or ask/pay a technician
Not a bad vid, I know some guys like to talk too much but pointing out a few things are OK, like what real super pain it is to replace the CMOS battery, pull the whole laptop apart and then desolder and resolder battery. Toshiba must have been real idiots to make a consumable item so difficult to replace. Should have been remove the cover on the bottom of the laptop, slip the battery out of the holder and place the new one.
