He who rocks a visor and fanny pack has found true self acceptance.
and bringing a shoe horn while visiting a friend! Now I want to be his friend; God bless his heart
You can tell the joy the these little things bring to this man’s life. It’s amazing as you get older how much you realize the aggregate benefit of these little things (like an easy shoe slide) that being you happiness.
It's because you take on more responsibility and these things make that easier hahaha
Here's some additional ideas:
-Electric kettle ($20) - fast tea/coffee
-Fan ($20) - helps sleep
-cordless electric vacuum ($20) - cleans up small messes quickly without having to get out broom/big vacuum
I got an electric tea kettle and it's great for so many things! I don't have to run buckets of water to get hot water, the hot water boiled water jumps starts cooking and im-sink dishwashing. I used to forget the boiling pan in the stove, and when I had a stovetop tea kettle was always boiling dry as I had other things to do than stay in the kitchen.
The fan I bought last year is so good. It’s Honey Well, a medium to small sized fan, I bought it from Target it’s less than $20. It really circulates the air well.
This is so funny as a British person, we all have kettles
@@Emma-ex8gx - they're not common here but are worth it.
Ridiculously amazing hair is all I can remember out of this 😂
You sre spy for KGB!!!
The moment i opened the video i commented out loud, damn he got some crazy hair😂 then i find this in the comments lol
Thanks for getting right into it without a long drawn out intro . . .
And no background "music".
Yess!! 🙌🏻 i was so ready to get the speed up because i thought he would have a long ass intro, but it was just the way i want it!
One item that is quite helpful to me - a whiteboard
I have it mounted next to my work desk and by a quick glance can see what items need to be taken care of
100 percent. I kept alot of whiteboards from my old job
I remember buying a whiteboard when I was around 12, to this day I have it hanging in my room, I still use it at least once a week. Great investment.

The boxes are useful as storage containers but shouldn’t be used for shoe storage, as without proper ventilation any odor will remain with the shoe. Cedar wood shoe trees are a must if you tend to wear the same shoes a lot. Removes odor, helps them keep their shape and makes the shoes last longer, on top of looking cool af 😊
Or you can buy a special UV light for your shoes that kills odor causing bacteria.
@@johndong7524 because that's normal
I would barely be exaggerating if I said no. 1 changed my life. I was going through some things in my early 20s and while I don’t know if it was emotional, hormonal, stress-related, or generally psychological, or All Of The Above™, I was STRUGGLING with sleep. I’d be in bed for hours, only getting more stressed because I knew I was losing precious hours of sleep. I live in Sweden, so our summers barely have any darkness at night and my blinds weren’t doing the trick. For some reason, I picked up a sleep mask and that first night I swear I fell asleep in 45 seconds flat and slept through the night. Have used them ever since.
A million times yes. Sometimes I sleep terribly and it's only til the next day that I realize my sleep mask was in the laundry or I just forgot it.
Roligt att höra, får prova det också nån gång 😊
About shoe horns - I have always struggled with them since they easily break (plastic) or bend (metal). A year ago I found out about wooden shoe horns, and I absolutely love them. No more bending or breaking :)
The cool dad on the fanny pack section broke me hard. Love this video. Hahaha.
I had to smile at the $10 Inbox paperwork tray. I use a cardboard tray I picked up at Costco for free among their discarded boxes. 😬And of course, we keep coming back to this channel for the ridiculously amazing hair! 👍🏼

Index cards…
My favorite way of marking moving or storage boxes involves index cards, a black Sharpie, and clear packing tape. Use the tape, not just to adhere, but to cover the entire card, making your labeling system somewhat water resistant.
I never knew about an under the pillow alarm clock! thats genius!
The visor is a MUST! Love it!
An obscure one I recommend for those who wear them is bra separators for drawers. Bras are one of the more expensive clothing investments and the cups can get warped if not stored properly.
One of my best investments was a write on wipe off board. I use it all the time for reminders. I don't find the reminders on my phone nearly as effective since I'm not physically writing things down. I always keep one near my bed since a lot of my ideas come at night when I ought to be sleeping.
I’m Dutch and we take our shoes off when entering our home or other’s homes. I think it is respectful as well as cleanly.
Mason jars are also great for storing produce. It lasts much longer! Add a paper towel inside. Last 2-3 times longer.
For earplugs, look up loop quiet earplugs. More expensive, but much more comfortable.
“Ridiculously amusing hair” insert Zoolander memes 😂❤️
❤these inexpensive suggestions-really useful , I had to get a few of them -thank you so much Tae! Your content is invaluable and spot on!
🎉Your channel is growing so much and so well done!
ty 💐 I searched for products (or more info on products) mentioned than I think I've ever done while watching similar videos; probably because of calm pace & believability. I look forward to watching more videos & sharing link with others.
I'm also a big fan of glass food prep dishes, my eye mask and visor that I wear for tennis, running, and vacation. 😊
Just ordered that cable organizer. Great recommendation. My cables are always a mess and I lose track of them.
Yes to all, except... mason jars. I love the shape of Victoria Tomato sauce jars.
I wash the label off and bang, the perfect storage jar.
Cost: $0
I love to reuse tall Kirkland olive jars. Free. And perfect size for sauces. Also huge pickle jars. Perfect when making large pots of soup and stew for good portion sizes.
These are great items! All these items are incredibly valuable and worth every penny. I especially like glass containers, sleep mask and inbox trays. I would also add post it notes, packing cubes, ninja blender and kitchen knives to this list.
I have a small storage closet , Whit a few shelves . And it’s true , those clear storage containers are briljant for storage use . I sorted out all my stuff , and put whatever I wanted to keep in storage in those containers and put the containers on the shelves in storage . Its sorted , looks neat , and easy to access and use . 👍
I love your videos. They are to the point and it helps that I’m quite the organizer too.
When I was younger, I definitely wouldn’t want these but now, that I’m older, I already have some of these and they’re “life changing”.
The fact that a visor, shoe horn and your fanny pack are part of your essentials made me subscribe. I think you have reached your peak now. I don’t know how you are going to out do this. A metaphor to explain your greatness is that you are like Dr Dre after he released the Chronic album.
Fanny packs are such a big thing here in SE Asia that it's weird to see any guy walking around without any beg of some sort. Messenger bag, fanny packs, backpacks, clutch bags. Murse basically.
That Lazy Susan rec is hella clutch!
One of those things I'd never have thought I'd need. Yet, it solves a tonne of problems for me.
Thanks for sharing. Good advice!
Love these. I have many of these. That shoe horn is a game changer! I always have a visor because I live in Florida and love to take walks. While carrying my Fanny pack. 😊
Show horns also help the backs of the shoes not warp.
I LOVE the under-pillow-alarm! ❤️♾️❤️
Thanks for the ideas. The shoe horns are great. We are older and have the extra long shoe horns. They make putting on our shoes so much easier.
A tip for the mason jars. Get the plastic permanent reusable lids. I have the lazy Susan organizer on my nightstand. It holds meds, pens, paper , hand lotion, and lip balm. I keep meds like melatonin, antacid, aspirin, chewable antihistamine so I don’t need to hunt stuff down when I’m having discomfort or need sleep aids. I can keep the light off and just use the night light. I keep a bottle of ice water nearby since I hot flash a lot. Helps get me back to sleep sooner.
This is great, Tae - thanks!👏👏
Tae, your videos always bring awesome information and wisdom to my life. Keep making more videos! 🎉
P.S. Your hair always looks great 😊
He is such a dork, love his videos
I live on the edge. I haven’t had a screen protector in over 10 years. Great list btw.
Lol
Those pencil boxes are really great too, I have more than a dozen but only one has pencils. Their small size can fit almost anywhere. Get them during back to school sales or on clearance after and they're easily worth the few pennies they cost. Plastic sweater boxes are also very versatile (choose shoe and sweater boxes that stack if you can) and so are the very small photo cases. Small containers are simply for smaller things or quantities.
Silicone putty earplugs are a necessity for my sleep. The foam ones don't sufficiently handle the city noise I live with but the silicone ones are really effective.
Been with you since the beginning, so glad your channel is taking off. You deserve it!!
Great video!! Thnx! 😁👍🏼
very good ideas you have. thanks for sharing
One of my best investion was a flip leather case for my phone. The times it saved my phone screen is unlimited. I work in the building industry...
Very nice! Thank you
Really love this video
this video is going to my "weird youtube recommendation i didn't know i needed" playlist
Great info 👍 👌
I'm sure you get into this in your expensive things that are worth it, but I have found that a REALLY good shoe (I like SAS) can last a decade, and SAS gives you a free shoehorn with your shoes! Not only does it make putting your shoes on easier, it can help the shoes last longer.
I’m kinda impressed with your book shelves behind you 😊
New to your channel and loving it. And yes, your hair IS ridiculously amazing 🤗! As is your content.
Thank you, well done and very useful, may I make one additional suggestion, washable house slippers for guests.
This is a great video!
Thank you, the PDF linked me to 18 expensive items - that is very helpful too! Do you have a link to the inexpensive ones listed here?
Updated. Please try the link again - www.financialtortoise.com/inexpensive-items-worth-every-penny
Thought there would be nothing useful on this list but nearly all of them are now on my shopping list, thanks
Lots of great ideas!
Great video Tae
What’s your recommendation for a high quality backpack? Love your videos!
Hi Tae, do you have any advice on choosing a brokerage account (i.e. Vanguard vs Fidelity), a bank (i.e. Ally vs SoFi), and a credit card (i.e. Amex vs Chase)? Or, should we not worry about choosing the optimal company, because the process is more important than the brand?
Can you share the greens pineapple recipe you use for best taste?
Thanks for being not too in the nose with product names/brands. Made the video much more enjoyable
Not agree on some of them but a nice and thoughtful list. Kudos
Thank you for the inspection.
Sadly a lot of things aren’t available in Germany like it looks like, just similar items.
Love this channel
I love this video!
Instead of earplugs, one can use free sleep sounds with the phone. Nowadays I personally have some sort of background sound while I sleep, most of the time some sort of fan sound, which blocks outside noises very effectively.
There's nothing uncool about the 90's 'fannypack around the waist'-dad aesthetic!😂
Thanks for the tips Tae, i found your channel yesterday and i really enjoy your videos.
Great video. Thank you for the tips. You forgot one important item for sleeping besides sleep masks and ear plugs, which is... a good mattress to sleep. It is worth every penny in my opinion, at least.
Tae - Thank you for this video. Can you do a video on organizing skills.
This video is a valuable dictionary🎉
I prefer crossbody sling bags rather than a fanny pack. They can get bigger than fanny packs to put more items in, and if you actually wear them crossbody like this guy suggests, the sling is in a better orientation IMO because it's actually designed to be worn that way. There are small er crossbody slings if you prefer as well.
Hi Tae, just found your channel. I greatly appreciate all the helpful info and your calming manner in all your videos. I have a question for you if you dont mind me asking pls. It's something that i just cant ask around due to cultural differences. As a korean american (moved here in my teens), i often feel anxious about my aging parents and how im going to support them financially. Now that they have officially reached their mid 60s, i am starting to feel overwhelmed since im the oldest child. Are you also "expected" to care for your parents financially and if so, what is your savings strategy for this? Thank you for reading 😊
just wanted to boost this question to help it get seen.
need a sequel to this video and more
Get ear plugs that are for construction or gun range. They keep way more noise out than the foam ones.
Awesome!
I love the thoughtful ideas in here that have a big impact!
I couldn’t stop watching! Subtle dad jokes were hilarious. Might have even picked up a few ideas. Thanks!
short crisp and to the point with great quality
subbed! this is what youtube was about + ur handsome
I also have a note card organizer case. I use note cards for notes and ideas and often I end up with notes I want to save (i.e. quotes, recipes).
great video
Wow. I really enjoy your voice.
Good suggestions and you are funny 😊
Apart from the lazy suzan all the items are spot on in my books. I put food and bottles into slim boxes that can be pulled out for easy access as a lazy suzan is convenient but too much dead space for my liking. An eye mask REALLY improves your sleep. Started using one two years ago, can't live without it.
Yep... I got old. I find these useful...
The fanny pack bit made me laugh out loud. I love your personality!
I'm not sure how convenient a cable organizer is but here's an even cheaper hack just use food storage bags, they'll fit within each other if you have small and big ones and you can label them with whatever you want
One tip I've learned is to focus on items that enhance productivity or bring joy to daily life without breaking the bank. For instance, investing in a durable water bottle might seem small, but it saves money on disposable bottles and encourages hydration, which impacts both health and productivity positively. Thanks for shedding light on the value of these seemingly mundane purchases!
I like these organizational videos. Keep them up, give me your secrets!!! Lol
I never grew out of Legos.... and I'm 23 😂
Thank you for the tips!
Though this video does remind me of a grandpa that you met at a bus stop and tells you all about his life and how this knife he bought 10 years ago changed his life xdd
Again, another great list. I fully expected you to include iPhone mount for your car. I’m still looking for the best one.
Besides the ruber band of a wedding ring, I agree with a lot of them 😂
Post-it notes are a good alternative to index cards too
Yes! We don’t have index cards in my country. I use cheap knock off Post-It notes instead.
Totally agree with the eye mask, ear plugs and fanny pack!!
SMART ways to stay practical. I too use a fanny pack for the daily $9 from Columbia , no need for an expensive purse.
What a wonderful man you are. My grand-son-in-law has ridiculously beautiful hair like yours except his is ginger. As an oldie it took me a while to get over his luscious hair. ❤
battery phone case! extends the battery life of your phone by keeping it almost always topped off. they’re very cheap and save you a ton of money in the long run.
