The issue is that we can't just go about shooting animals that look sick. We have to, at the very least, have a valid tag for that animal. Not to mention permission on the private land it's on. And while each state is different, most have rules about how far away from the centerline of the road a person must be to discharge a firearm. The warden could be called, but if the warden puts him down, it's very likely that the person reporting would not be able to harvest the meat, or the antlers, and even if they were allowed to do so, they may not want to feed their family with a CWD-infected animal, despite the science that shows it hasn't spread to humans, each person can and should make that decision for themselves.
@@hunt_trap_fishAll your yapping was proven nonsense when you mentioned eating a deer with CWD that was just put down by a warden. What kind of nasty person would eat a deer that had to be put out of its misery in this day?
@@ShiestyApe well, I didn’t say anything to that extent. I gave the reasons why a person cannot just pull off the road and shoot an animal. I tried to do so in a way that was educational and gave good reasons for why it would be a bad idea to pull over and shoot something, regardless of what kind of shape it’s in. I then pointed out - or tried to - that if a warden was called, they may take the whole animal. Meaning most of it goes to waste. Furthermore. There is no scientific evidence of CWD ever jumping from deer to people or transferring from deer to people. I certainly wouldn’t want to feed people something that looks raggedy and in bad shape

Brave individual would still be moving ears to keep alert, paying attention with at least some curious nervousness by either ears flipping back constantly or more. This is a really good video showing the fearless stage of CWD. Although CWD and rabies are extremely similar, there are slight differences.
If the deer could talk: “I feel really bad… Can you help me?”. Reading about Chronic Wasting Disease reminds me of a similar rare rare disease found in humans called CJD. Untreatable and a friend’s wife died quickly from it. Autopsy said the brain was like a sponge with large voids. Chronic Wasting describes similar spongy brain conditions. In human & deer both cause by Prions, a misfolded Protein in the brain. Though no large connection to eating animal meats, the article said avoid contact with the brain and spinal cord. Which tells me call DNR, Game Warden etc. Not worth the risk unless you are starving to death in the remote wilderness.
Sheep can get it too. It's called scrapie. There have been several incidences in Wyoming recently😮 where hunters have eaten deer who had CWD and died. The meat is not safe even if it's throughly cooked. These deer suffer immensely and die a horrible death
What you call CJD is KJD in humans. There were 3 cases in S. FL. The girls who had it were British. Their names were kept private. It was said they did not eat beef in the US.
@@JoyceHealy-z5lThat's exactly why we (USA) don't import beef. What you all are speaking about is what a layperson would know as Mad Cow Disease. You definitely do not eat any white matter or you will most likely be infected. I also would not eat any muscle tissue, as this is where many parasites like to burrow and hang out while they multiply and party like it's 1499.
This one doesn't look as bad as others I have seen. Its not as thin and seems like mind and behavior pretty normal. Its sad we see more deer on rd hit than in forests here during hunting season. We used to have a lot here and would expect more with all the building around us and we have land with forests and water sources. I dont know why people dont talk more about the wild life like hardly any birds any more. Im 41, my husband few years older and we remember tons of birds everywhere and on power lines and couldn't eat on beach for all birds but now go and there are none. I know the pole shift and magnetic field is partially to blame but know much more than that. I am military cbrn specialist and doctor in combat hospital with veterinarians in our group. I also have farm. But I think anyone over 35 remembers how different it was growing up and seeing wildlife and clouds and other things that now are so different.
A lot of the reduction of bird population is from changing agriculture practices and increased maintenance of the land around roads. A lot of the tall grasses are mowed down now, dead falls are cleared away, brush is eliminated, and this leaves fewer places for birds to hide. Not saying that's the entire problem, but is certainly a contributing factor where I'm from. We had a big hail storm here about a decade ago and populations have just seemed to never make it back yet.
One thing I've noticed more in the last 10 years then in my previous 33 is having rain clouds on a sunny day. It seems like we have them in Iowa 3 times a month, just the other day I woke up to a hailstorm by the time I got out of town ( 4 min drive) it was light rain by the time I got to work (14 mile drive) it was dry. It just seems so odd.

@@Tulip258 They didn't make it up but it is definitely misleading information. There were some articles reporting that claim which is where they got it from, so like I said they didn't make it up. But the deer were never even tested for CWD, there is no reason to believe that was the cause. CJD (the disorder they died of) is actually known to occur spontaneously. There was no actual link proven the only thing that claim came from is 'Oh, these two people died from CJD and (gasp!) they are hunters as well! Must mean CWD caused it!' and then the media ran with it as if them being hunters was proof in itself of a causal link. And then other people like this commenter take the articles at face value and assume the reporters did their due diligence so they try warning other people. Such is the spread of misinformation, which to be clear I don't blame this person for. I think the people who wrote the articles have a responsibility to truth and shouldn't write sensationalist stuff just for clicks. So you were right to be skeptical.
Its been happening for as long as they have existed. You just now seeing it because everyone has a recording device in their pockets. This is nothing new. There isnt a mass explosion of this disease. All B's.. no lie.. fear mongering... Texas billions dollars a yr deer hunting... Wildlife killing 1000s of healthy deers . Put conservatives outta business... Isn't that the Dems way??
Overpopulation of deer makes it worse. Really it's the overpopulation of humans and the fact hunting is less popular than ever. Hunting is a form of conservation regardless of anyone's opinions and feelings. Animals starve to death and spread these diseases when they are in abundance with no natural predators.
Hunting helps control animal populations and certainly keeps them at healthy numbers. Overpopulation will lead to sick and weak animals. There is no human overpopulation. We have no problem feeding the world. Wildlife can be kept at healthy numbers with hunting and that provides the states with money to manage parks and wildlife. Most of the hunters I know are very supportive of conservation and they also keep an eye on local willdlife issues.
CWD was never a issue until the last 15 to 20 years, it started in captive deer and slowly spread, but the last 15 year's it's really spread faster than ever across every state.
They’re putting stuff in our food and getting a monopoly in the food industry to control what we eat and they’re created something to reduce the game so people couldn’t be self sufficient
If not CWD, you wonder if he was hit and is dazed. We've found them within 50 yards of the road, back in the woods, died from vehicle strikes but make it out of sight.
Driving in Jackson, MI 2 days ago, I hit a small squirrel, ran over a possum on the freeway and saw a decapitated deer that had just got struck by a car off the side of the road on I-94. Also saw a large raccoon dead on the side of the road. I tried to stop/ swerve, etc to miss my 2 animals but to no avail. I felt really bad. I also called 911 after I passed that car/ deer on the side of the road to make sure it was reported as the driver could have been hurt badly as I knew it was a fresh accident.
I agree. Stuff like this. Disease fish are getting now, invasive species that you can’t eat. I wholeheartedly believe it’s a way to keep you from providing for yourself. Then you will have to rely on the government. No thanks
That same demonic power has his soldiers and most are political. They seem to forget destroying the population in their own countries will end up destroying them too. It's like domino's stacked it might start from the front but eventually even the powerful will fall
Prion diseases are terrifying. Like, true grimdark future, "time for an Exterminatus" stuff. I could just cry at watching such a beautiful animal waste away. 😢😢😢
No he doesn't. This deer probably has no fucking clue what's going on.
That disease is horrendous and hurts them deer. I’d have put the poor thing out of his misery. That way he don’t have to suffer and die slowly
@hunt_trap_fish may not want to? You absolutely should not feed that to yourself or anybody else.
Is it possible he recently got his bell rung? I've had deer haul off the side of the road and slam into the side of my rig and run off. I always wonder if they end up looking like this..
There’s something going on in Grand Coulee, WA. A bunch of the deer are too skinny - ribs very visible. There’s plenty of food & we had a mild winter. I wonder who is in charge of deer health around here?!

C please
Sheep can get it too. It's called scrapie. There have been several incidences in Wyoming recently😮 where hunters have eaten deer who had CWD and died. The meat is not safe even if it's throughly cooked. These deer suffer immensely and die a horrible death
What you call CJD is KJD in humans. There were 3 cases in S. FL. The girls who had it were British. Their names were kept private. It was said they did not eat beef in the US.
CJD in the UK is mad cows disease from feeding the animals offal, all the spine etc
Yes, so true
Even the sun looked different back then
I’m 32 and feel the same way man. Also Whenever it used to rain, snails and worms would come out. I haven’t even seen a snail in yearssss

They didn't make it up but it is definitely misleading information.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I’m pretty sure the deer is confused as hell. The disease has an effect somewhat like dementia.
Overpopulation of deer makes it worse. Really it's the overpopulation of humans and the fact hunting is less popular than ever. Hunting is a form of conservation regardless of anyone's opinions and feelings. Animals starve to death and spread these diseases when they are in abundance with no natural predators.
WHAT IS BEING DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM ?
So co-exist with natural predictors. It worked for 4 million years, untill we decided to forgo birthcontrol..
No the wildlife commission is poisoning the wildlife. That's a source of food. You will eat bugs and own nothing
Over population was caused by the hunting to extinction of their natural predators.
I hope no one is purposely infecting the deer population.
Captive breeding is intentional.🤡@@dawnsites4232
