I actually served in the Australian citizen military forces after WW2 in the LVTA4 The LVT4 was our supply vehicles , along with DUWK's. To my knowledge my unit the 15 th Northern River Lancers were the only Australian unit post war to use these amphibious tracked vehicles. The A4 had a crew of 6 , driver, bow gunner (30 cal Browning) radio operator (my station) on the top the crew commander, Gunner, loader, assistant loader. One or two 50 cal's on the turret, operated by commander and assistant loader ( he had to have some fun too) on beach assaults. I came to this site trying to find the 2 sights used on the 75 mil Howitzer, I thought it was the m12 a4 for the indirect fire and the M4 for direct fire, a long time ago now so not sure , can any one help ? A beach entry was not advised if the surf was 6 foot + (they could very quickly become a submarine if you got it wrong on bigger waves. At sea they had 17 inches of free board , the 7 cylinder aeroplane radial engine was bloody noisy and the bilge pumps sometime worked. But as a young lad it was one of the best times of my life.
I see the LVT-4 is in the Pacific Theme book, is there anywhere we could find the instructions to make the A version? Great job capturing those angles, on the vehicles and the tracks, good use of space... great kits Dan!
You know what, that is a unique Lego military creation, can you try to build the micro version of the Amtrack LVT 4? Because my Legos doesn't have track links and that creation have some rare pieces and I can't find it
The Amtracs were mainly sent to the Pacific where the landing beaches were typically ringed by coral reefs. The Amtracs could climb the coral reefs where the Higgins Boats would be stopped. There were no similar coral reefs in Europe so the LCVPs and LCMs were used instead. LCVPs (Higgins Boats) and larger LCM (Landing Craft Mechanical) could deposit 40 troops or one tank directly on the beach. These were much more efficient at delivering troops, firepower, and supply tonnage to the beaches than the slow moving Amtracs.
The commanders felt that the DD tanks which were developed by Percy Hobart, hence why it was one of the vehicles to be nicknamed: Hobart's Funnies was a better idea. The DD tanks (DD stands for Duplex Drive) were British Valentine tanks and American M4 Shermans that were watertight and had a canvas skirt raised by inflating rubber hoses that made up a frame. This allowed the tank to float in the water like a boat and had retractable propellers for moving through the water and its tracks for moving on land. Hence the name DD. They were mostly successful on the beaches the British landed on during the D-day June 6/1944 invasion of Gold and Sword beaches and Juno Beach the one the Canadians landed on because they were launched closer to the beach than originally planned so most of them made it ashore and provided fire support. Omaha Beach where the Americans landed almost none of the DD tanks made it ashore due to being launched too far out and the water was choppy. That and the DD tanks had been tested in 1-foot high waves but during the D-day landings the waves were 6 feet high and most of them were swamped. They were more successful at Utah Beach, the other beach the Americans landed on since they were launched closer and that landing was better coordinated. Personally, I think the LVTs should've been used instead of the Higgins boats since they could drive up onto the beaches and not have the troops wading through water that was up to their necks and having more cover. Many of the Higgins boats couldn't get right up to the beaches due to the shallow water but LVTs certainly didn't have that problem. That and LVT (A) 4s used at Omaha instead of DD tanks probably would've faired better since I've heard veterans say that they could literally fill with water and not sink. This happened many times in the Pacific and many still made it ashore.
When we produce our kits, we do them in limited batched runs. This creates a premium market for high quality Brickmania kits. We never say a kit will never come back, but when a kit doesn't sell well or the parts are hard to obtain, there is a real probability that the kit may not come back.
+brickmaniatoys So, does that mean that the WWII Jeep (2016 Edition) will be back? You showed it in the video. Or is it one you're just keeping for yourself? (Not trying to criticise you in any way) XD
We ship to everywhere in the world. We would prefer that you use a registered Paypal account to complete the order payment. You can do this in the shopping cart. Thanks
They have to buy their own pieces, make boxes, make instructions, make merchandise and other things (t shirts and stufff) host events, pay workers, as well as put in time, and also have to actually make a living.

Why were some Lego sets never able to come back
When we produce our kits, we do them in limited batched runs. This creates a premium market for high quality Brickmania kits. We never say a kit will never come back, but when a kit doesn't sell well or the parts are hard to obtain, there is a real probability that the kit may not come back.
will tiger 1 and easy eight tanks return?
Yes, at some point in the future we'll have more in the web store.. Both items are still available in our retails stores.
+brickmaniatoys So, does that mean that the WWII Jeep (2016 Edition) will be back? You showed it in the video. Or is it one you're just keeping for yourself? (Not trying to criticise you in any way) XD

Why are all of the kits so expensive? Just wondering .
That question has been answered dozens of times elsewhere.
They have to buy their own pieces, make boxes, make instructions, make merchandise and other things (t shirts and stufff) host events, pay workers, as well as put in time, and also have to actually make a living.
Why didn't I see this in brick mania.com
I don't know why you didn't see it back in August of 2016, but as of present, it is sold out.
You pay over $300 for these, gets one mini figure
