Yep the blue dial two tone submariner is the first expensive watch that I wanted in my life. Back in 2001. I can’t believe the prices of watches now. In 2001 the two tone sub was $7500 I believe. And the stainless sub was $2500. Those were the days!
Depends on your taste and the lighting conditions. In sunlight the brown dial flashes and overpowers the rose gold and apart from all the colours going on legibility suffers. The black dial is Matt to give maximum pop and legibility of hands and indices in all conditions. The chocolate and rose gold is an acquired taste for sure and in my opinion suits tanned or darker skin tones better.

I time a bunch of things - centrifuges, elution, taking vital signs, don’t even get me started on how much I use the bezel for cooking. I use it for basically everything except diving lol. I got ( homages of ) Rolex OP Orange ( Pagani Design) , DayDate Green Gold ( Pagani) , DayDate Blue ( Cadisen) . Day dates are the true classics. You can go have dinner with the King wearing one. OP orange just makes me so happy whenever I look at it.

I think they’re an important brand to the watch industry, certainly for British watch making and the two brothers are inspiring. They make some great watches and have made such a name for themselves on such a short period of time.
My first one was the sub, the time i saw robin van persie with the Daytona around the time of the World Cup in 2010, i felt in love with the Daytona. So I had that on my list as the perfect second Rolex. So i bought one, I got the 116520 i got this like 7 years ago and bought it for €10k. My friends were like “it’s a nice one but the daydate and even the sub are more likeable. 4 months ago i got a offer of 30k. I never thought it would increase that much of worth. So I will keep the Daytona to hopefully left it one day for my kids. My 3rd Rolex is a daily datejust with a jubilee bracelet, i bought it for 7.5 and could sell it as we speak for 12. Rolex will be the perfect investment move. My 4th one will be a GMT master 2 with gold and steel. I got three steel so I would like a gold one.

But their a good investment overall I'd say especially the rarer you go.

Beg to differ, the 126621 chocolate dial is by far the best out of the ym40 series. The stainless with blue dial is on par for me.
