Infectious enthusiasm, almost impeccable English (you don't lie something down, you lay it down), great ideas and attention to detail. That butcher block is fantastic. Bay area, educated, seemingly unlimited budget? Must have rich parents. That's RUclips. All kinds. Variety of people makes the world go round.

I love using neodymium magnets! I've just constructed solar panel mounts for holding the panels on van roof (past experiences made me paranoid about holes in my van roof). True creativity is an evolutionary process as seen by your many, various attempts to arrive at a successful shower curtain--a methodology I am very familiar with. Your van build videos have given me new ideas I may incorporate into my van remodel. Please don't edit out your trial-and-error process as this is essential to conveying to other the creative process. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to your videos.

Omg! I have been using magnets to attach wood strips to my van ceiling for nearly 3 years to temporarily put up my insulation plus a thin covering material.
It has stayed up securedly for almost 3 years now.
I have not tested using magnets with the panels yet. Thanks to you, I now know that it will work. Yippy!
You are the 1st person I have seen using magnets as well for the ceiling after viewing over 200 videos.
I also wanted to do a collapsable alluminum bed frame but I have not seen anyone doing this.
Your collapsable bed frame video is extremely helpful!!
    Thank you for sharing.

I would still hang the shower curtain out in the sun 🌞 to get extra assurance that the mold won't build on the curtain. The exposure to the sun will kill the spores. I like your idea for that shower, this would be my choice for my van build. Great job ! 😃👍

OMG. I have an MS in (elec) engineering and I am a (62yo) DIYer (to a fault!). This vid totally rocks. I'm going to totally copy your design. I hope you included your bud that built the pan; that seems to be the crux of success for everything else. But what really got my attention was the ceiling panels installed using the (neodymium I'm thinking). Brilliant!!!! I'm looking forward to watching your whole series. My current camper is a 24 yo E-150 I've had since its birth and turned into camper #1. It's great but I want to upgrade a bit now that I'm (2 months!!) away from retirement. I'm looking forward to watching all you other vids. Ciao!

Ingenious.. installing the shower system directly under a pot light/ skylight or vent will help with lighting. I don't particularly like climbing into or out of the shower curtain- cutting an opening with magnetic/Velcro strips along the seams to keep it closed while showering may work.

EXCELLENT Shower install ! Thank you for showing how you solved problems that would give many noobs major headaches, I really liked and learned much from the different uses of magnets, especially using them for an easier ceiling install ! Glad you put rubber padding on the top edges of the tub for safety, but you should also put rubber on the vertical edge of the corner so no one smashes against a stainless steel edge. Looking forward to the complete van tour.

    Working with ripstop nylon.
I was thinking of the same material and ordered some samples.
You can fold a hem then iron it for a really good crease, then open the fold, place a batten parallel to the fold and use that as a straight edge.
Use a hot glue gun to run a bead of glue onto the nylon,
    Let it cool.
Place magnets as required and run glue either side to make a pocket.
Fold the hem back over and iron to stick the material together.
If you want a really strong hem, repeat.
You can use this to join pieces together for a wider curtain.
Makes a good strong area for eyelets as well.
Much cheaper than getting it sewn and probably just as strong.

I want to congratulate you on your thinking and problem solving and the execution of your ideas. I have been working out and adapting my ideas for in van showering and just last week came across the Australian produced Evershower on RUclips and I’ve now found it available in USA and in UK. It has the advantage of being useable outside the van as well as inside and not using up my precious water and space in the van. All the ideas I had been working on came together in the Evershower .
I find your energy and enthusiasm to be engaging.
Best wishes for your van life
    Douglas

Look at what I did I got a hula hoop, a shower curtain with Rings. Tied five strings meeting to the center with another ring and hooked it above my ceiling hook.It cost me $20.00 total.

Magnets are a great solution to many things in Sprinter. I have been stocking up with varioys shapes sizes. Ceiling ...Scott Abrams ? Did ceiling with sections padded/upholstered then secured. I am using wood-colored foam- reflectix stuff in my van. Ultralight weight with extra insulation and "sheathing". 6'x6' squares to finish ceiling. Quick easy ultralight weight...

I've seen a collapsible shower rod on RVs and boats. It's kind of segmented and moves out of the way.
Don't know the name though. Btw, you can split the curtain open and sew pleads with magnetic strips along the edge
so they will "auto close". I've seen this being used in commercial dust systems for painters, drywall , etc. The magnetic
strip would be similar to the flat/bendable magnets used for business cards and flyers you attach to a fridge.

In trucks too just push it, twist the rod and it stayed in place and use a reg $10 plastic shower curtain w/ hooks. We just put water bottles on the windshield defroster to heat and they get super hot lol.

You should have turned that collapsable shower upside down, remove the mesh and use it with the narrow part on the bottom, since most of your movement will be in your arms. That's where you'd need the larger portion of that shower anyway. Could try that :) You could even leave the mesh on the narrower end, and it would help to catch longer hair.

Wonderful ideas for a can shower! Thank you for sharing. One thought about the shower curtain: I would buy more yardage so as to have one side overlap; in that way there wouldn’t be a need to crawl into the curtain from the bottom like a shirt. It’ll be a simple door-like entrance And since the one wall completely overlaps there wouldn’t be any water to escape out.
