You forget to mention the most important thing about MDF and HDF - don't ever get it wet, or it absorbs the water like a sponge and becomes a big soggy mess with no strength what-so-ever
With HDF the particles are smaller and the compression is greater to form a more contiguous and therefore better finish to prevent extra filling painting and sanding. MDF is cheep and strong enough to form the structure but does not machine as well.
well sven thanks amigo, it looks like our time just doing the whole thing materials and blueprint in hand at the jobsite is something best left for professionals aye?
@MrResentment Really?! The clue REALLY is in the name my friend!! Give it some thought and i'm sure the answer will come to you! Let me know when the penny drops! ;)

thanks for explaining what was MDF and HDF
Yep, I've never seen HDF, or never had the opportunity to buy some, can we only find it in factories and not in shops?
MDF stands for medium density fibreboard
did she say the mate is compressed to 1/40 of its original thickness? Does that mean a 1/2 thick MDF was originally 20 inches thick mat?
What a informative video, thanks!
My father regularly makes entertainment centres and window seats from MDF as a carpenter :)
amazing process!
HDF stans for high density fibreboard
One is high density fiber and the other is medium density.
thanks for the video... appreciate it
@MisterRolls lol i know that already i just thought that there was more behind it...... :'(
This is going to sound dumb but ive convinced myself that it is impossible to find HDF in the 4th biggest city in the U.S.
Amazing project
they are both used to make furniture
what is the difference between MDF and HDF? the density or strength?
