  • I explain it poorly in the first ten minutes or so, but basically, I am going to be recording for a lot longer and cutting out a lot more going forward so I can get a lot farther in each episode; let me know if you like this change in the comments below.
    This is my Rain World, Blind Playthrough, Episode 21 of the Let's Play.

    12:13 "casually makes the games most advanced and useful movement"

    Last time I was this early for a video, Unfortunate Development wasn't so Unfortunate yet.

    I think the extra editing is cool especially since you are backtracking through a lot of areas we've already seen although I'm not sure what the plan of action is now obviously you need to head west but there's also still a fair bit of optional stuff like the echoes and pearls.
    Depending on what you decide you want to do I can provide a list on how many echoes and pearls each region has to at least give you a checklist that you can cross off once you find them, otherwise you would wonder around forever.

      The game also gives you a checklist for unlockables but its not intutive. It doesn't give one for pearls or echoes though afair.

    Backtracking is fine. That's one thing Passages are good for. As you figure out how to unlock them, each one is worth a teleport and full karma refresh. While they're one use, this is more valuable than ever as you learn more about the game and fill out more of the map.
    As long as you keep learning more ahout the game, you are progressing. This game relies more heavily on the player gains experience side of progression over the character leveling up or unlocking new abilities. Between the mark and the glowing you haven't really unlocked anything "persistent" with your slugcat since the game doesn't offer much in this way.

      A good example of this is learning to spear walls or swim efficently. You can do this at anytime, but have to learn how as a player that its possible. Almost everything in Rain World works this way.

      @@TrueWolves I totally looked up the movement guide for swimming, I still haven't "mastered" it, but at least I know what I need to do.
      Nothing in the game even hints what you need to do to swim faster.
      I would hate for Koi to accidentally spoil something they really don't want to know, but at the same time, there are some really cool movement tech it could teach them that helps navigating the world, and makes backtracking more fun, they have a reason to practise new moves.
      Like, for example *Koi, stop reading if you do not want to know even a hint of a move you can do, not going to say how to do it, but will say something that can be done*
      Like backflipping and throwing a spear down, there's only a few examples where it can help you get ahead, but it can really open up some paths for you, or like you said, swimming, as well as rolling, and a few more useful techs that aren't requiring a god to pull off, I don't want to upset KOI telling them this stuff, I know how much they want to do this journey on their own, but at least for myself, I LOVED Learning these new moves.

      Good spoiler buffer. I think the DLC might also tell you in one of its tutorial pop ups, but I'm not sure. KoI has the DLC after Survivor at least.

    You started losing Chieftain progress because, well, for a lot of reasons actually:
    -At 7:36 You threw a pearl at them but if you look closely, none of them took it, sometimes they take it instantly, but sometimes that happens, and it's a bit annoying, you HAVE to wait for one of them to take it, and for one of them to do the "You can pass" sign.
    -At 7:38 That scavenger was actually demanding payment to pass the toll since you technically didn't pay yet, you then went and took his spear he was definitely not giving you haha.
    And the last thing, at 8:33 You just passed the toll without paying, and now they are like: "Man, this slug thing actually sucks, tell everyone they suck!"
    That was all quite funny hahaha.

    Seriously, when you started this game, I was preparing to accept you might not like the game after a few hours, but here we are at 100 hours, and I am constantly blown away at how quick you picked up stuff. i've only been here since outer wilds, and this rain world playthrough, but man, I really like these series, you put a lot of work into the videos with your editing, and I just want to say this has been a fun ride all the way through.

      Cycle 100; I think I still only have like 32 hours haha.

    Oh, damn, How did I forget you never rode one of those?
    Yeah, it was really hard not to out right say it xD
    (I believe I looked up what this creature does (I was close to giving up on the game, life was too chaotic, but I really fell in love with my first two hours, and looked up movement guide and some creatures when finding myself stuck for like 3 and a half hours.))

    i wasnt sure before but now i think youll definetly love the dlc! =v0
    also after you finish the game i suggest watch a lore video """!! but if your planning to play the dlc search for an old one, else ull get spoilered !!"""
    ((&&& i would really like to see you react to the game's lore and make comparisons with your current theories! ))

      There's still Hunter and Monk not including the DLC, not to mention unfound echoes and pearl hunting.

    • @mz_arc4213
      @mz_arc4213 2 дня назад +1

      @@TrueWolves i agree with the hunter even tho its short, but isnt monk same as survivor? its just the easy mode i dont think there is anything new (tho i could be wrong) also i think playing a easer mode after you beat survivur or hunter is just.... meh, u know

    • @TrueWolves
      @TrueWolves 2 дня назад +2

      @mz_arc4213 there are some interesting changes, but they are few and subtle. Mostly lore related, like how one part of the game is actually much harder as Monk and easier as Hunter due to the timeline of events, unlike almost every other area in the game. Nonetheless I encourage people to only play the other brother after unlocking their alternate ending in the DLC.

    Ok, it's about time that we tell you this since you seem invested in the lore. You can bring objects to moon and she will tell you about them, allowing you to learn more about this world. Some objects will give more information than others.

  • @ChristopherCraven
    @ChristopherCraven 3 дня назад +1

    Yeah, that's why I told you to eat the neurons in unfortunate development, after eating 2-3, you glow. Will help you in dark areas

  • @ChristopherCraven
    @ChristopherCraven 3 дня назад +1

    Honestly, i can imagine you being stuck in an area for 3 episodes, and getting a little bored, but that's from a selfish perspective, otherwise it would be totally dope to see you fly through an old area with your new experience.

    • @knightofiron
      @knightofiron  3 дня назад +3

      As long as nothing is happening I don’t think I’d keep a whole lot in; I might just spend multiple recording sessions getting enough content instead of just one or something.

    • @ChristopherCraven
      @ChristopherCraven 2 дня назад +1

      @@knightofiron No worries, I'll be able to adjust fine to the faster editing :) definitely keep new areas as least cut down as possible at first so we can enjoy seeing your reaction to learning new creatures and areas.
