Picking up my series 22 Friday and following your tips Saturday! I’m geeked up about it!!
Lets go ! Congrats. Enjoy the process.
Excellent, thank you for that.
Why the hell can't everybody just do a nice casual and thorough video like Mr. Neil here? Excellent. BTW, I have a helpful hint to all you Traeger lovers, but maybe you already know, I use my small shop vacuum to clean out the pellet heat chamber in the bottom as well as the whole inside to get the fine ash powder out before each use. I never vacuum it out after use as you might suck up a live charcoal into the vacuum.
Aloha, Paul
thank you for the very nice words ! hope you found the video entertaining and helpful. I clean the barrel out with a hand vacuum as well and have plans to make a video.
Looked very good great job
Great video! Definitely enjoyed watching and I am going to give this a try sometime soon. Would love to see more videos including the Traeger!
thank you, and happy to help. I just might make more Traeger vids if I start cooking something other than brisket lol.
Got one smoking for tomorrow. Keep up the videos!
thanks for the basic straight forward info .......
Yes next day it is delicious. It reheats really well also.
Sweet video bro! Thanx for info

Thanks for this vid.I am really thinking about pulling the trigger and getting a Traeger pellet smoker
Nice job the beer looked damn good to lol
Glad that time has passed and we are not in 2020 anymore, but looking to do my first brisket tomorrow.
4am beer! I gotta try that out.
thanks for making it simple and showing the vid, Neil. Well done. I need wheat beer!
Yeah man, happy to help. Cheers !
Great video, thanks
i have a traeger and smoked 5 briskets on it this summer so far and i love it. however, it's clear to me that i really need something bigger so i am going to get a YS640s and sell my traeger. Yoder's can do direct heat grilling so it offers the best of both worlds and they're built like a tank.
my favorite thing about this video is the 🍺😁
Great video!
Just bought a Pro 22 last weekend. Did a whole brisket today and was phenomenal.
How do you like the pro 22? I'm stuck on pro 22 vs 575
Cool video, thank you. Trying my first brisket today for the 4th. 🤞🏼
Nice ! You've been up pretty early then. Enjoy those beers and happy 4th !
I’m about to pull my first one out of the traegaer. It’s been 12 hours and I’m getting excited!
Yeah man ! Looking forward to hearing how it turned out. The leftovers are great also, if there are any left !
I like your approach and outlook......relax...be Happy.........and enjoy the cook.....may the Fork be with You.......Add Alcohol when thing start to dry out.........Thank You.
Outstanding (Cook) brother. Nice bark great smoke ring to thumbs up Homerun pitmaster
Awesome video. Super chill guy. Let’s have a beer!
Thanks for stopping by. Cheers !
I just won one as a saftey award at work. Cant wait to break it in
Right on my dude, nice win ! Thanks for stopping by.
What model traeger do you have?
Have a pit boss 6 hrs great brisket but I still like stick smoker 16 hrs 275 excellent smoke bark and moist
Spritz!! Obvs in a clean, dedicated, spray bottle! I didn't think it would make such a difference, as I'm typically a mopper.. but spraying makes a huge difference in the smoke ring and juicyness... I've converted! Spritz!!
Hi...have undone any more cooking on this smoker?
My in laws bought me one yesterday. Going to try it this weekend!😬😬😬🤘🏽
enjoy ! and don't be discouraged if the first one isn't the best. my first couple briskets came out tough. and even after making this video I've made briskets that have the texture of rubber. i say def cook to at least 200 (if not 204). when I've pulled it off earlier at 185 the meat was still tough.
themanofNeil Thanos for the top hermano! Researching all I can, all while getting hungry 😂. Looking forward to taking a page out of your book and enjoying some IPA’s and brisket of my own soon! 😂🤞🏽.
You can use the beginners brisket setting on the grill and it'll work ok it's own right?!
As a middle age father and husband myself who enjoys sipping IPA’s and yes surfing. I noticed the paddled board up there. I’m about to buy one of these machines myself.
I usually start and continue at 225 degrees, which is low compared to a lot that I've seen, which may be why it took yours so long to cook. Mine 10-12 pounders usually take about 12 hours, and I don't like it to get over 200, I usually pull it at around 195 actually and they turn out perfect. Not a fan of the Montreal because of all the pepper, but it didn't look like you put too much on it. I like some Lawrys seasoning and garlic powder. Looks like it turned out great!
Awesome how to video and cook man, wish I could find a flat like that! What kind of beer ya drinkin? 🍻🍻
Good stuff! I agree with you: refill the pellets!
I forgot to check when I made some ribs lol thought I broke the dang thang in my hank hill voice
Made my first brisket on my Traeger Timberline 850, came out great with nice smoke ring etc. but I felt that it was a little more dry than what I’ve seen from others. I guess I’ll have to play with it a bit.
Take advantage of the startup smoke. Start it with the brisket on a cold grill while it starts. Pellet grills are so efficient in burning, get all you can
Hey hey, thanks for the tip. Will def. give it a try on the next cook !
What did you use for the mop sauce I’m trying to figure what the green can is that you used so total cook time was 185 for 4 hours then 10 hours at 225
that green can was a leftover can of ginger ale just because it was open in the fridge, but I think any sugary carbonated liquid is fine. My preference is to use beer. Yes for this specific brisket it cooked for 14 hours.
We love Montreal Steak on all our beef and pork!
Link don't work for the recipe. Nice video !
2 years late but great video!
Thank you !
Does your traeger produce a lot of smoke or do see any smoke besides when you fire it up?
You should produce mostly clear throughout the session vs white smoke.
Well done video. This Traeger model's cook area seems small. Doesn't look like you can cook a full size brisket in it.
Damn, first time. Tender and a thick smoke ring.
I just got a traeger and looking forward to using it this year, would it be better to wrap it after a few hours? Idk I'm just guessing here
Man jokbaby, I don't know. There was a comment below about never wrapping it and I didn't wrap my most recent brisket for superbowl. I honestly couldn't tell much of a difference. I guess I'd say, it's not a bad idea to wrap after a few hours. Then try it the other way on your next brisket !
the reason you spray it is to not take any of the bark off of the brisket with a mop. future tip
A lot of middle aged fathers on this right now learning 🥩 😂
54 and change for just the flat? I paid that for the full prime last summer. Hopefully meat prices come down. Great video. I just picked up a Traeger the other day. Haven't used it yet. I will in a few days.
Price of meat went up since covid19
Do you mop sauce it on both sides?
Hey ! nope, just brushed the mop sauce on the top. I didn't move the brisket at all during the cook.
Great video! Which traeger pellet grill do you have?
Thanks ! We have the Eastwood 22.
Great video, most important question, which beer? 😎
Most likely an IPA. Thanks for rolling thru.
What beer were you drinking? Some sort of ipa?
def some type of pale ale 🍻
how much peelets did you use?
I'd say 1/2 to 3/4 of an entire bag. There's leftover in the hopper, but I didn't want to take the chance of running out.
what beer were you drinking?
Can't remember. Most likely a Pale Ale 🍻
Everyone's afraid of cooking brisket. Trim it Season it,smoke it, drink beer , pull it at 200, rest it and eat it
Did it smoke the whole time?
yep. It's in the smoker the entire time so you need to make sure you keep the pellet hopper doesn't run empty.
Thanks for not wearing black gloves ( like all the others ) and not touching the handle with meaty fingers.
I have a campchef pellet smoker for years and and what I did is remove the protective grill in the hopper where the pallets go makes it easier to clean the dust from pallets that can jam the auger Second thing I do is sift through The dust from pallets with Pasta calendar to keep things working properly without jamming up just an advice
Bro ! I am loving the ingenuity. Yeah I always noticed all the dust when filling the hopper but I just assumed it all got used as fuel.
I only had Jim up once and I had a very long time so it’s not a big deal but yeah great machine
Watching this guy drink makes me want to drink with him
What are u drinking bro?
Probably an IPA.
Middle aged!?! My guy looks like he got asked for ID to buy that beer
Haa ! Much love. Must be the genetics. I'll be 50 soon.
@@themanofNeil mother of god
Excellent review btw. I’m gonna be picking one up this weekend!
drinking ipa watching how to brisket videos
We could be friends!
But you babysit it all 16 hrs by feeding it wood but it's worth it😋
225 on my traeger is really 230-275 dont trust the built in probe
Thanks for the tip. I have spots for 3 more temp probes on my Weber i-grill3 thermometer. I might just use on to monitor the smoker temp.
@@themanofNeil no problem I love my traeger but once I got the wireless monitors I realized how much it actually fluctuates. I keep the smoke stack barley open and that seems to keep the fluctuations much tighter.
Your brisket looked awesome btw keep it up! Way better than my first brisket! Haha
good but def not "perfect". you gotta wrap it earlier while cooking
No foil ! Ever !
yeah ? I'll try no foil on my next brisket. Thanks !
This was a Traeger commercial not a brisket tutorial 👎
which grill do you have?
