I LOVED this. What a fantastic lesson! I remember watching a documentary about how Disney came up with this whole system for this. They essentially stacked up all these glass sheets several inches apart. On the back ones were the furthest away background, and on the front ones were the foreground. Then as they moved the camera around, it created all this depth without re-drawing it.

The only flipbooks I make are ones on packets of post-it notes when I’m bored in class. Also little stick figures running and doing tricks is the bottom right corner of my school notebooks.
I have most likely already commented on this brilliant video, but in case I haven't(as I'm too lazy to scroll) it was very good. I made flip books out of any regular book with a big enough margin on the pages I could find when I was a kid. I spent hours a day on this stuff. Wish I'd have know about the parallax effect then.
