I love the pink look and the white jacket next to it! I bought my two first vintage-style sewing patterns the other day! Butterick B6318 dress and McCalls 2947 aprons. Not sure that they are vintage or vintage-style.. Are vintage patterns that keep being released still vintage? And I'm a very big fan of Gertie and hoping to order my first pattern from her shop soon!
Yes they do count as vintage since they are reprints but made easier to use. Those are lovely patterns - I was tempted to pick up the Butterick B4790 fifties wrap dress during the sale..
I love vintage patterns !! This burda is amazing . The lobster is a classic 40 ‘s design from Schiaparelli , i was surprised to find it in a 70 ´magazine ! Thanks for the sharing ! I have a 12/ 1974 burda and I love it
HI Hila. I had the cutest pair of hot pants with like a shirt over jacket and crop top in a gorgeous blue floral print when I was 12 in 1971! Those patterns take me right back. I went through all my teenage years in the 70’s and went to so many discos in long maxi boho dresses from Laura Ashley or ones I made for myself. It was a very romantic time. Diana
There were so many insanely cute styles in this magazine! I loved the corset back dress and wide legged pants as well. Honestly so many of the dresses were just perfect and wearable for right now
Don't forget this is European styling and in 1971 I was 22 living and working in London and we wouldn't have been seen dead styled like that. Those coat suits were considered granny styles. This is why Burda magazines didn't sell very well over here at that time. Now they seem to style more for an international market.
That a great point! It feels like fashion is more international now in the age of glabalisation but I am guessing in the 70s there were more distinct regional variations in what women actually wore. It would have been interesting to compare a UK sewing magazine from the 70s with the Burda one.
Hello lovely peopl! These vintage patterns are so fascinating! Do you buy vintage patterns to sew with or just to admire their beauty?

Awesome! Thank for the info on the lobster Schiaparelli. I have 10/1974 and it's got an insane amount of coat patterns.
Saturday Night Stitch in the burda 06/2017 the model 104 is an original model from 10/1974 it will be interesting to compare both of them
Increidible the sexism in the ads at that time...

Очень раздражают руки и пальцы, которые везде тыкают
