I want to hear your thoughts/predictions on what comes after the Final Shape. They've hyped up the fact that this is the end of a "saga" not the end of destiny, so what could possibly come after?
Maybe a precuel tittle to the days before and after the collapse.
Destiny 3: Battle Royale
Not sure, but much like Forsaken, and Beyond Light, the last three expansions may change Destiny’s story, characters and universe forever. Funny enough, the recent lore, storylines and Elsie, remind me of the scene from Infinity War, where Dr Strange foresees only one future where we win. For Elizabeth’s sake, and that of the universe, hopefully our timeline is the one.
The vex are still around and will be around likely forever so there's a chance time travel and seeing different times in destiny could happen
What comes after "The Final Shape"? More patrol missions on the Cosmodrome....
Dunno if byf will see this but I wish he would talk about the stuff with scorn culture thats been developing this season. The fact that scorn are changing this season in terms of behavior is very interesting. I like the big plot videos but some of the side lore and evenys would be nice to talk about considering last season hw did it for the eliksni.

Perhaps this "Final Shape" is the shape most befitting symmetry, to explain what I mean, We can wield Darkness without a device or gifted splinter, why? I think it is because the gardener always intended Guardians to be this way. To prove to the winnower that both bomb logic and sword logic can exist simultaneously, that balance is necessary.
I would argue that when we use darkness we are still in the bomb logic, after all isn't it about being as complex as possible?
The Light is a circle (round). The Darkness is a pyramid (triangular). So the final shape will be the merger of the two....a roundish shape comprised of triangles. The final shape is an icosahedron!

I've always joked that at the end of the story we would kick the darks butt but reject both the light and darks philosophy and in the end the pyramids and traveller would begin to merge and transform into a giant Ghost (pyramids outside traveller in the middle) who would fly off spreading our new balanced idea of life though out the galaxy. Ridiculous I know but when you look at the shapes of the vanilla ghost you can't help but wonder... 😂

I just thought about this, what if the traveler was the Ghost and the Pyramids were the parts of it's shell and the Traveler's just running away from the Pyramids to stop the resurrection (and therefore end) of the Destiny universe?
Wait so... the Traveler released Ghosts to become a bigger Ghost with the Traveler inside it? My head hurts.
I’d love it after light fall and the final shape if the villains are now guardians corrupted by power and greed. Wielding both light and dark and basically being the balance in the universe. We will always be imperfect and be susceptible to selfishness and greed. I could definitely see some power hungry guardians rise up for us to face.
If we end up getting two other dark subclasses before the final shape, I have a feeling we'll be able to start making hybrid subclasses

Can we all agree that Bungie really knows how to tell a story? Because damn! Destiny has to be one of the best games for lore
They’ve had ten years to work on it. It better have deep lore. It’s nothing to reward seeing how surface level it was year one. We even knew more about halo in the first game. Which wasn’t even live service
I'd love to see the seasonal year of lightfall as a 'second dark age'. So characters like Lord Saladin and The Drifter can have really good story moments of them reliving their past with Saladin defending the weak and drifters plan to prepare for a collapse comes into fruition.
Imagine at the end of the final shape. Your guardian travels out of the solar system and finds a Ring in the distance
Can't wait for the architects to make their appearance
Another foreshadow of the city falling is a quote from saladin in iron banner. "there will come a day when hope dies. When the sky darkens and a shadow swallow the sun. When this city falls again - and it will - it may not rise again. Every generation faces a reckoning. When yours come, we'll need you... And what you can do."
"The Final Shape" will be a gigantic screaming exotic engram that we can't decrypt...

The final shape, has to be fluid even entropy/chaos by definition is constant.
We discovered that stasis, or darkness was actually inside us when fighting Eramis. We possibly are our own source of light and the Traveller is the conduit. The final shape is one where we are the force/tool of the balance putting the winnower and the traveller to rest.
Savathun has shown her hand and her error in believing that ghost is the means of our power what if ghost is training wheels for the combined strength of the a unified energy system of light and dark.
So close to a million… excited for you!
While the expansion is called "Lightfall", I'm confident it refers to both Light and Dark. As stated by Ulan-Tan. If the Entity, the Final Shape wants supreme reign...it can't have it while either of these forces exits. It needs to destroy both in the end.

I think that in lightfall the light will... fall. The exo stranger will help us learn how to go through timelines and channel darkness. Maybe in our attempt in saving the light we find the final shape and be trapped in a world of endless torment, and then we find a way out, restore the light and try to ignore what we saw. but in the next dlc, we find out we cant run from our problems.
The pyramid ships blast the last city knocking you unconscious.... You wake to hear Zavala's voice.... "Guardian you blacked out for a second there, anyway new intel has come in and whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon."
That sounds incredibly exciting if it pans out that way. I wonder if on the road to true paracausal duality we'll have to square off against Savathun because unlike us she will choose one side (after defecting to the other) instead of learning to wield both. It sounds like we are well on our way to become the arbiters of paracausal forces.
I think the solar system is going to be destroyed in some way.
The story seems to hint at it, and it would be a cool conclusion, regardless of how sad it may be. Even from a development standpoint, it would be the perfect excuse to clean the slate, wipe all the old off, and introduce more interesting locations to explore, and enemies to find.

if we are meant combine the ideas of sword and bomb logic in lightfall can we call it musket logic? a musket is a fundamentally simple firearm but also has the complex nature of gunpowder and launching a projectile however said projectile is very simple kinda works as a middle ground between the two
the final shape isn't just that when the final shape exists the darkness has won. The final shape is simply the ultimate shape of the universe. if a collective of humanity, cabal and eliksi were the last being in the universe, then that would be the final shape, and the light would've shown its philosophy as one just as real as the sword logic of the darkness.
Personally I really hope we don't get the darkness wins scenario because it's way too obvious. I think a much more realistic way could be that both the darkness and light could be somehow merged or removed from "the game"
I'd like to add that the shard in the EDZ might be used once more if the Traveller gets destroyed
Cool story thing that I'm not sure if anyone caught on to we learned in the season of the splicer that mercy is the defining variable that links us to the light, hence the opposite being merciless would be the defining factor for the darkness. In forsaken our guardian, along with petra, decided Uldren should not be given mercy for his crimes, after this the guardians were most likely set on a path for darkness. the force behind the pyramids must have sensed this and have taken interest in us, which would explain why we're able to commune with what we originally understood to be as our enemy. It's an interesting bit of storytelling that might be accidental but if done deliberately is a showcase of Bungies amazing storytelling capabilities.
If im not mistaken, in marathon, the hero travel to the end of time and the entity says that we have become more and we are the destiny or something like that
I’m putting my money on different timelines colliding. If light is life/rebirth and darkness is death/decay the final shape might be another universal constant, time itself and along with it enemies or an enemy who are/is able to use time as a weapon. Time is also the in between between birth and death. Your theory is pretty good and probably makes more sense as a conclusion to the light and dark story. Also unrelated but I want to see some of the leaders we’ve killed throughout D1 and D2 return as guardians of some sort (light or dark) for example Caital’s Chosen could return as the Travellers Chosen etc.

Ulan Tuan’s theory of Symmetry has much more weight with the revelations of Beyond Light. Guardians with a strong will have mastered using stasis and now wield light and dark in balance to fight for humanity. If the Last City has a social media, Ulan, Osiris, Drifter, or Eris would be posting stuff like: “I told you so” or “say I was right”.
@@garrettviewegh677 if the light and dark can truly coexist then maybe they aren’t true opposites, but two caged animals being driven by whips. Perhaps these are just two universal forces, like gravity, set into a destructive dance by the watcher. Maybe the darkness isn’t bad, just being used for evil. With all this stuff with the light not being good and the dark not being bad, I think this theory could hold some water.
@@12345abxdefghijk It's just life and death. Death is 'disbanding' beings, life creates them. If either of them would stop or fall out of balance, dominating the universe with their own function everything would fall apart very fast - if beings are endlessly created without ever going away room will run out and death reborns just from the situation/ If beings are endlessly terminated without new ones created the universe will be empty of life which is a fail state.
Death is only "evil" in the eyes of beings destined to die, since they themselves cease to exist and that's terrifying. I do not think however, that both functions need a "wielder" or some entity "using them", or that there should be a third party
This might be less lore but speculation, but Mara sov mentioned the tournament of scorn and how they are “shedding their skin” in last weeks mission. I was thinking awhile ago that the scorn kind of look like the veil, the darkness enemy the was “leaked” years ago and people have speculated long ago. I think the scorn might shed their form to be taken by the darkness and turn into the veil

I think the helm is a large ship and in lightfall everyone will end up there along with all of our vendors and the eliksni and other factions will all have rooms to represent them.
This whole video gave me chills. I love how epic guardians are. Literally became and still becoming more and more legendary
I fully expect a bunch of pyramids to latch onto the traveler and make it look like a ghost shell, I couldn’t tell you what will happen after that but that’s my guess
It’d be pretty sweet to start seeing decisions
No matter what happens I just hope the overall feel of the story/world is different by the time it comes out. Like rn we've lost a dozen planets but no one on the tower seems to be concerned, it's like nothings changed. I'd like the tone to be darker and more desperate, like we're actually approaching the endgame.
I predict that the traveller is a giant ghost. You'll see it when it combines with the pyramid ships.

I’m so glad Bungie isn’t stretching our current big baddies over unnecessarily long storylines (they’re getting Savathun out of the way for one. They couldve milked her and Xivu over multiple expansions if they wanted) and actually moving forward to new stuff, and to a conclusion of sorts. Also, I love that they’re building on top of the established mythos of Light V Dark, making revelations (such as the reveal of the Entity) and soft retcons when needed. These twists and elaborations will make the story feel like it’s unraveling over time (things such as Oryx being sent by the Entity, and the pyramid ships not actually being the Darkness itself.)
It only takes one counterexample to disprove a proof. The light has to win but once to render the darkness’s argument faulty.
See the problem with this idea of the traveler losing is it makes no sense from a gameplay perspective, unless there's some asspull about us being able to continue using the light without the traveler.
Because we've already seen how people reacted to the idea of Luke "Sunsetting" Smith wanting to get rid of non IP defining supers.
However the idea of the traveler and the pyramids potentially combining to make something new sounds more like what Bungie would do.
I believe that the final shape refers to the light eventually winning and wiping out the darkness but in doing so the guardians and the traveler and its light have now become the final shape and have now proved the darkness's point about how those with power will seek to destroy others and this realization will corrupt the traveler and its light heralding the darkness back and creating a new cycle

I love how hunters are “op” to people because their mobility yet they’re the slowest guardians. Look how fast byf is running while carrying an orb. My mobility is 9 and I still get out run by warlocks and Titans. Hunters have been merged into infinity.
He's using stormcaller bottom tree which has electrostatic charge that stacks movement speed buffs for how many teammates are near you, pretty busted ability in my mind (I'm a hunter main btw that's why I'm slightly salty)
Oh byf you have such high hopes and I'd hate to see you disappointed, I hope your temper some of your optimism, for you, and yet... You may be right. That would be the best timeline.

The thing I am also really interested in is, after The Final Shape, who or what will be our antagonist? If the Light and Dark saga of Destiny will end and the Darkness has been the antagonist since 2014, and if Byf is right and we are The Final Shape with no one, serving the Light or the Darkness, being able to stand against us, as the ultimate paracausal beings of the universe, what will be THAT threatening that would warrant making future expansions about? Destiny does need an antagonist. Will we maybe fight among ourselves out of hunger for more power? Will another eldritch power of the universe come to destroy us? One that is also not bound to the Light or the Darkness? From another dimension maybe? That could actually be cool. Another being or an army of beings capable of using both Light and Dark but bound to neither comes to claim it's place as the ultimate paracausal being or unit, not only in our universe, but the multiverse. Iunno maybe I'm watching too much Marvel and there isn't such a thing like a multiverse in Destiny. But could be interesting.
Aren’t we.. well, as a Guardians.. doing the Final Shape? Aren’t we killig everything and staying up on the top of everything? And it does not matter to us what we use as long as we have fun and get some nice loot..

Plot Twist: The Traveler is the Winnower, and The Entity is the Gardener. After all, it was the Gardener that got frustrated and through dirt on the flower, killing it. The Gardener was the one who wanted to be part of the 'game' and change things, forcing a new pattern. "Let us teach them our peaceful ways by force" kinda seems like the Gardener, imo. Afterall, we've seen countless examples that wielding the Light doesnt make you a good person, and wielding the Darkness doesnt make you a bad person

So we’re basically like the Avatar. A bridge between Light and Dark instead of Humans and Spirits. This all actually sounds similar to the whole Rava and Vaatu thing from legend of Korra.
I predict the final shape will be the ultimate exotic we make after defeating the Darkness.

What if the light and dark become one entity creating the final shape. Orbs of power are a combination of both we can freely wield both and it would make us question alot
If we are the ones maintaining balance in the universe, that means we have a lot of power. Power corrupts, so we might end up having to hunt down rogue guardians

A great hypothesis, made all the more plausible by the commercial reality that Bungie isn't going to kill its baby by ending everything with The Final Shape!
Also, as an aside, Lightfall is a double-entendre, inasmuch as Nightfall can mean the arrival of night, so Lightfall can mean the arrival of Light.
is it possible the traveler isn’t the only big orb imbued with light? They never explicitly said it was.

I'm almost certain this is either incorrect or just nonsense, but I had the idea. Do you know the 'symbol' of Destiny that nobody has known the meaning of for a while? Adding on to the "Guardians are the Final Shape", what if that was the Final Shape?
Crow is not worthy of hunter vanguard. He either is Uldren still and still needs judgement (and the fact that we killed him should also supersede the dare) or he's crow and the vanguard dare didn't apply to him. Him becoming a character in his own right or maybe even the speaker would be a lot better. Him being vanguard would be contradisctory writing.
So if the Traveler is defeated before the Darkness is, where would our Light come from, how would our ghosts resurrect us, etc? If we "defeat" the Darkness with only Darkness, doesn't the Darkness still win?
Typing this out made me wonder if we find out in Witch Queen the Traveler isn't the only source for the Light?

In the context of the “final shape”, might we consider Savathun is now the “good guy” of the overarching plot? Not so much that she is benevolent, but her actions are in direct contrast to the thesis of the Darkness, that all diversity must destroy each other, until only one shape remains.
In that sense, she has forced Cabal and Eliksni to seek coexistence with the Guardians, ensuring that more than one shape will remain.
Furthermore, the Darkness gives out stasis, not because it cares which faction or group will win, but because its ultimate goal is simply to encourage them to wipe each other out, until only one remains, the final shape. It doesn’t matter who or what that shape claims allegiance to.
In that sense, be it Hive, Cabal, Fallen, Scorned, Taken, or Vex, the more enemies we defeat, the more shapes we remove from the board. It doesn’t matter if we call them enemies of the Light. If we eliminate all threats so that only one shape remains unchallenged, the Darkness wins its bet with the Gardener.
Yeah we've pretty much become the living embodiments of the Sword Logic without realising it.
