I totally agree with your comment about it being all duracanvas. I love this jacket as well, but because of the stormstretch back it is somewhat limited in use for me during winter. When wearing a big ruck the breathable back is great, but the winter wind will often times blow through the exposed bits when wearing a day pack. That said I still wear it often year round.
Absolutely! The silent beginning says a lot, with the later narrative filling out the details. The side zips will become more and more useful the more you wear the anorak. The zips work great in warm to hot weather especially in weather that warms up during the day--zips closed to start, and then as you start to throw off heat, you start opening the zips. A very point is it is NOT waterproof and minimally water-resistant. An excellent outer cover--either over a base layer or, in cold weather over heavier under layers.
I forgive it’s waterproof boasting, it’s a really nice jacket great for outdoor use a really good piece of kit for being functional and protectional layer.

Really good rundown of this smock/anorak, thank you!
Importantly:
55% Polyester, 23% Cotton, 19% Nylon
NOT Waterproof.
meant to be waxed
I did try waxing it but the storm stretch material didn't hold the wax in its fibres to well.
By the sounds of it, it's like an alternative Fjallraven Keb jacket. Good video sir.
Thank you, The fjallraven gear is lovely stuff.
Love hate it , had one of those random UK summer rain storms , rained for around 6 minutes and l was soaked in this
An outer jacket should be waterproof what a faff having to take off a waterproof layer to get to your gear
Great honest review lad
Thanks mate!
It is. The Pilgrim is my favorit.
They’ve just brought a new one out the SAS smock it’s 100% Duro-canvas think I will have to get 😂

Can I ask how task you are and what size you went for? Thinking of picking one up for the spring
Good Jacket Helikon rules
They do, I really do like the Helikon stuff solid gear.
Imagine this jacket without this storm fabric on the back
Anorak doesn't mean waterproof. It denotes a pullover style jacket, that may or may not be waterproof.
