Jess, don't feel like you have to justify Ben's dirt bike. I agree with you - teaching kids how to be safe around all kinds of dangerous things is a big part of parenting. Especially when it comes to doing things they're interested in that are dangerous!
The problem is when you're on a public forum like this, there are so many people who feel they have the obligation or right to push their morals/life choices on you.
@@aimeejog I agree with you, and the bike is small and just the right size. But maybe pushing " fears" rather than morals, could be the case. My friends son, had a path going around the house. Every Saturaday morning he ate his cereal, put on his helmet and road that same path. He hit a tree. The only tree. The hospital staff and news stations were so evil, to the parents. Yes, little Johnny died, on arrival. He was 7 years old. Should this little boy be riding? Yes he should because most of the time it's better to learn that life has risks and that we don't know our fate.
My husband said to please adjust bens break levers on the handlebars they should be forward and down at a 40 degree angle so they don't hurt his wrists if he does happen to bump into somthing.
My Dad used to drag a stick across the tomato plants in the garden to toughen them up. So enjoyed seeing you brushing across the seedlings. Dads been gone since 1962. ❤️
The extent of damage from frost is partially based on the previous day’s humidity. So if the plant has a little more water, also known as “turbidity”, it will have the propensity to damage it more so, compared to a plant that might be slightly “flaccid“ (less water within its structure). This is not the only factor, but it’s certainly one of the larger and more frequent factors. *I am a plant biologist
I loved this too! Mia takes such good care of her. Jess has talked so much about not wanting to rush permanent infrastructure for the sake of one season, I really wanted her to have the right doors, too. She deserves it. :)
Everything is looking amazing. We have our raised beds almost ready and the chicken coops (which are very cheaply made but will hopefully hold up until we build a Chickasaw). Plus, my beginning Gardner book came in yesterday, and I’m excited about that. My 3yo granddaughter was “reading” it and pointing to the words. You convinced me! I recently had to move into town and leave behind 20 years of established gardens, my chickens, stream and huge wood shop/barn. I've been pretty broken hearted about it all. But today, your smile, honesty and enthusiasm convinced me that all was not lost. I've ordered my greenstalk and will begin again with a little garden. My landlord may just be next. 😊 Hugs and prayers!
Teaching kids to respect the danger is very important. Teach them to do things right and they’re less likely to get hurt because they know the limits. And always wear a helmet. Always.
Last year my local garden store was selling two different types of pineapple sage and only one was a frost hardy perennial in my zone of WI. Maybe that is why there is some confusion? Plus they recommended a sage perennial that wasn't edible. I definitely double check all my plants with my phone so I don't make mistakes again. 😅

So, watering my plants here in florida before a frost/freeze means I'm an executioner?! I thought they should be well hydrated! 🤒
I was told to water the plants good before a freeze in that they would do better that way
I'm sure it's a typo but it''s actually "turgidity" in case anyone wants to look it up and find out more. "Turbidity" is the cloudiness of water.

I wrapped deer netting around my indoor shelves year to keep my cats out of there. It's totally working!! I love your heart for people to be right where they are. I think a lotta lotta people will want a Jess start.
I appreciate what you had to say about small spaces and discouragement when things go wrong. I just did my very first vegetable seed planting and then got super sick and bedridden just as the seedlings started to germinate. I pretty much have to start over. I was overly ambitious with it anyway.
I hope God blesses you with health. I wish for you a bountiful harvest!
You are not a farm boy without a dirt bike to get about 😊Jess, that’s so cool that you have allowed him to have one.
This greenhouse is so dreamy. I'm absolutely in love!
Your nephew Aden is so precious. He reminds me of my son who has Autism. He doesn’t talk much either but is super smart and creative lol. I’m learning so much about autism and how healthy foods and growing our own foods will educate and help very picky eaters to enjoy trying different foods. Your channel is awesome for new gardeners. 🥰
I have star Ted watching your videos. I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying watching. I absolutely love where you live lol, keep up the great work.
WOW…. Sweet Miah and crew have done an outstanding job. I love it. ❤️
Oh what a joyful space your going to help so many people from that greenhouse. Blessings!!!!
