the ending is supposed to symbolize that humanity is slowly fading into the black while the light is shining on the apes, for it is their time now. sort of like in the first film at red wood, where the tree's Caeser was climbing were endless in the shot, while behind James Franco, there was a dead tree, half destroyed, that had come to it's end.
This is honestly my favourite film ever, the special effects in this are a good example that CGI can amazing when done right and the storytelling and tension between both species is the best we've seen it in the planet of the apes franchise.
I feel like you guys should watch the short video of Andy Serkis transforming into Caesar once you've finished the trilogy. It gives me goose bumps everytime!
I finally watched the whole trilogy for the first time last month and this might be one of my favourite movie trilogies of all time. I had heard so much about them about loved them. Some of, if not the best CGI I’ve seen in a movie and Andy Serkis deserves an Oscar for his performance. I just loved the experience of watching these for the first time and it’s another film series I’m so glad I have along with so many others.
The most tension moment for me was Caesar refusing to save Koba, telling him he is not an ape, which is practically implying that Koba turned "human". Great about this trilogy is the thing about evolution. While this happened and we all evolved from apes, seeing this process is something else. Also, the ALZ-112 Caesar got and also all the apes later in the first movie, was designed to activate human brain cells, so the humanity in the primates was pushed through this process. Koba is the perfect example of an animal turning human in the way it will harm his whole species, which means - feeling hate, rage, desire to rule and to enslave other species, that's how humanity goes on for ages (and still doesn't stop at the present, which is incredibly sad). Caesar remains one great character, the leader everyone needs, as I mentioned in the first part. I don't know if you will pick up also the old movies, that's why I don't want to spoil anything :D Also, if you haven't seen Everest (2015), give it a try, based on a true story, with Jason Clarke - again - not playing a villain :D
You missed the point man! In this movie caesar learned why some people are good and some bad. He thought that that can't be possible to apes and learned that the hard way. Remember how he said to the guy that he's a good man, like franco in the first movie? He now knows that in intelligent beings there are good and bad apples. Now the line to koba goes something like this,, apes don't kill apes, but you are not an ape, you're a monster! That's what he meant!
I would encourage you guys to watch the behind the scenes footage of how these movies were made! Incredible acting from Andy Serkis and all those who played the apes. Such an awesome trilogy.
This movie means a lot to me. I remember seeing this on my 14th birthday, not really knowing anything and being absolutely blown away. Since then its become still one of my top 20 fav movies of all time. Caesar is one of my fav movie characters and koba is one of my fav movie villains. Ive always loved this movie and it never gets old. Also, this movie is directed so fucking well
I used to be kinda disappointed that this franchise only kept our favorite human characters in one movie. James Franco (1st movie) and Malcolm's family (2nd movie). They never returned again. Then I remember that this franchise is about Caesar and the apes. The humans are just side characters and replaceable.
@@hazri8758 Malcolm goes to the Colonol in the third movie to ask for peace and he rejects Malcolm and kills him. It's in a deleted scene as well as the comic books. Malcolm's girl also dies but it isn't revealed how. His son is still alive and his fate is left ambiguous.
For someone who is afraid with the apes mason quinn really is concerned for caesar 😂....LOVE THE REACTION. But it's sad to see how koba and caesar's relationship goes downhill when the humans starts to show up, at the beginning when caesar and his son was up against the bear koba was the first to help. Koba really considers caesar as his brother, but humans filled him with so much hate so that's sad
It's easy to love one another when you all have a common enemy and things are somewhat peaceful. But once a real threat shows up and you two disagree on how it should be handled, is when the problems start to rise. Another example of this is Rick and Shane in TWD.

If you didn't catch it in the first film....They had a scene where the news was announcing the launch of astronauts for a deep space voyage. So you can imagine when they return from space to a Planet of Apes. Setting up the idea of the Charlton Heston movies from the 60's

She is the lead and carries the hell out of the film. It is so worth watching and I know none of you will regret it. You enjoyed her in hunger games and Winters Bone is just a stellar film.
I found you guys about a week ago, starting with the Twilight movies. I was expecting 3 guys to just bash the 💩 out of it. But I really enjoyed your reactions. Particularly enjoying your following this series. My son works for Weta Digital (FX) and one of the movies he worked on is the next one - War for the Planet of the Apes
For sure. The other films are technical marvels and are good stories, but Dawn has a significantly stronger antagonist to drive the conflict. Koba is one of the best villains of the entire decade, and more people should recognize that.
@@Tee_BDreyfus never really struck me as a villain tbh. Just a guy who wants to keep his community safe. You can't really blame him for thinking the way he does.
Yeeaaaahhhh boyyyyeeeeee!!! My personal favorite of three. Honestly, this may be the best trilogy ever. Only films that even compete as a trilogy are bttf, lotr, Captain America and John Wick.
This movie is about the interactions of intelligent, but flawed, beings more than anything else. As much as we like to think of ourselves as advance, wise, and domesticated we really aren't that far removed from animals. Both groups had the peacemakers, the philosophers, the politicians, etc.. But, both groups also had the bad apple that had nothing but fear, anger, and revenge in their heart. And, it only takes a one to destroy what many may build. In this case, the one that ultimately caused a resurgence of the strife and conflict was Koba-an ape that was basically tortured by man his entire life in a hundred lab experiment. Karma is a bitch, and she gets revenge with a shotgun spray toward groups of both the innocent and guilty.
I watched this movie when I was younger and my English wasn't that great before, so even though I have watched it, I never really understood the story, so I decided to rewatch them all last week while waiting for your channel's reaction and it was absolutely fantastic. I can't WAIT to re-watched it again with you guys. :) 😍😇🥰🥰🥰
I never pointed it out before put the reason they focus on the eyes so often is to show how much they’ve evolved and how smart they’re becoming. Remember the green flecks? Well Caesar’s eyes are pretty much entirely green now.
During the battle I kept thinking "Wait till he sees Koba on the horse!" You all know which scene I mean. o__o Definitely an incredible sequel, and the score gets me every time.
I guess Quinn wouldn't like the fact that there are actually modern apes in the wild who are learning to utilize tools, such as makeshift spears for fishing

She is the lead and carries the hell out of the film. It is so worth watching and I know none of you will regret it. You enjoyed her in hunger games and Winters Bone is just a stellar film.
i believe the ape koba threw off the balcony, ash, is also rockets son the ape Caesar made friends when he was at the shelter :/
Another great reaction! Seeing Quinn freak out is hilarious! Because "he no like the Ape! Lol
I found you guys about a week ago, starting with the Twilight movies. I was expecting 3 guys to just bash the 💩 out of it. But I really enjoyed your reactions. I've been binging every since, after twilight to Harry potter's and fantastic beasts, then pirates of the Caribbean to the divergent's. Avengers infinity war & Endgame to Spiderman 1and 2. Oh yea and all the maze runners. Now your first two planet of the apes. I guess it's time I suscribed lol. Loving your reactions to movies I love. Can't Waite for the next one, and I'm going to past ones of IT! THANKS GUYS.
That's awesome! We thank you!🙏🤜🤛
Let’s goooo!!!! One of the best trilogy’s
Idk if you guys have seen Lawless but I believe you’ll love it, seeing Jason Clarke in this movie reminded me.
Another great reaction!
Glad you are continuing these!
The woods grew around the gas station this was a town this wasn’t woods it just grew and spread in 10 years and covered all the land.
Mason Quinn being tense the whole 2 hours, same boi same
24:00 I don't live in SF, but I do remember us filling up our car at a gas station around Muir Woods when we went to visit the redwoods. There are the odd groupings of houses there so I'm assuming its mostly used by locals.
Particularly enjoying your following this series. My son works for Weta Digital (FX) and one of the movies he worked on is the next one - War for the Planet of the Apes
Really hope you guys decide to cover the original movies after these ones as well, I’d love to see your guys’ reactions to some of the stuff in those
Ahhh back in the fold for this. Forsee general enjoyment with some serious questions.
they say family, ape vin diesel swings by on vine making a low rumbling grunt like a car engine while nodding in approval
Out of all three of them, this one is my favorite
For sure. The other films are technical marvels and are good stories, but Dawn has a significantly stronger antagonist to drive the conflict. Koba is one of the best villains of the entire decade, and more people should recognize that.
@Matthew Mazzatto Oldman was a good villain too.
@@Tee_BDreyfus never really struck me as a villain tbh. Just a guy who wants to keep his community safe. You can't really blame him for thinking the way he does.
@Nic Name Yeah, he's I guess more antagonist than villain.
Been waiting for this to drop it’s a good day today let’s gooo 🔥
16:20 LOL them just patiently waiting.
I had something that I really needed to be doing, but then this pops up. Can't even be mad. Just gonna multitask now.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Multitask together STRONG
Yeeaaaahhhh boyyyyeeeeee!!! My personal favorite of three. Honestly, this may be the best trilogy ever. Only films that even compete as a trilogy are bttf, lotr, Captain America and John Wick.
Great to see you guys 👍
These movies are SO good
I’m with you Quinn! Also not a fan of apes and was hiding behind my blanket for most of this 😂
This is my favorite of the trilogy. Koba was insane in this movie 😂
YES! My favorite of the three
This movie is about the interactions of intelligent, but flawed, beings more than anything else.
Dreyfus: "They're animals!" So are humans.
First. Anyways, LOVE YOUR GUYS VIDEOS! I haven't seen this so I'd want to watch it first then come back for this one 💕🤘🏽
Would LOVE to see y’all react to The Ghost and the Darkness!
Johnny Knoxville on the thumbnail there 😂
Yes! Planet of the Apes with Badd Medicine!👍
I watched this movie when I was younger and my English wasn't that great before, so even though I have watched it, I never really understood the story, so I decided to rewatch them all last week while waiting for your channel's reaction and it was absolutely fantastic. I can't WAIT to re-watched it again with you guys. :) 😍😇🥰🥰🥰
Congrats on learning a new language. I know it's tough. Wouldn't know you weren't a native speaker from your post.
@@ct6852 oh, that's so sweet of you.☺ Thanks 🤗
This is my favorite of the trilogy
I never pointed it out before put the reason they focus on the eyes so often is to show how much they’ve evolved and how smart they’re becoming. Remember the green flecks? Well Caesar’s eyes are pretty much entirely green now.
You guys should watch, The Gray Man. Holy crap, did I underestimate how bad ass that movie was. I think it would make a great reaction from you guys.
9:05 :
Caesar : Family
Me : Vin Diesel ? Is that you!
Koba is a pos but you gotta love that epic rifle range scene.
Shows how humans are egoistical, condescending creatures.
PS: i love maurice.
Matt Reeves directs the shit out of this and War for the Planet of the Apes
Love this trilogy!
Can I just say that Jason Clarke is much better as a good guy here than when he was a bad guy in Terminator Genisys?
tbh i think Carver is Def the Koba of the human group
Ape strong together!
Let's go!
love your videos sm🥰!
Hello from Philippines, I'm New subscriber, and trying to catch up with all your reaction videos! I love your Lord of the rings reactions 🤭
Hello! Glad to see you're enjoying. Thanks for the sub. We appreciate it 🤙
During the battle I kept thinking "Wait till he sees Koba on the horse!" You all know which scene I mean. o__o
Definitely an incredible sequel, and the score gets me every time.
I guess Quinn wouldn't like the fact that there are actually modern apes in the wild who are learning to utilize tools, such as makeshift spears for fishing
I really hope you will be seeing the original 1968 movie after this precuels :D And i still waiting for Arcane :S
