SANT'ANTONIO IN GALLO MATESE, ITALY JUNE 13, 2024: PART 2: THE PROCESSION

After attending Mass at Ave Gratia Plena Church in Piazza Independenza for Sant'Antonio, there is an auction to raise money for the village. Bidders compete for the honor of carrying the blessed Sant'Antonio statue with great care, throughout the procession, through the village.
Stops are made at key points, throughout, and each time prayers are said & songs are sung as the procession winds it way through the ancient & steep cobblestone streets.
After the procession, the crowds gather in the square as fireworks go off! There's a break in the action, while families rest & have lunch. Then, performer Angelo Famao took the stage & had the crowd jumping! The evening is capped-off with another brilliant round of fireworks!
A beautiful festival, with Gallesi from around the world attending! Viva Gallo Matese per sempre!
