One of the best recordings of a recorded engine sound I have ever heard
Back in May of 2018 I flew from Houston to Zurich via Philadelphia. I had not been to Switzerland in about 11 years and as we approached ZRH the weather was overcast, spoiling any nice views on arrival. Nonetheless I kept my nose pressed to the window waiting for the moment we would break through the murk and the lovely green landscape would burst into view. I waited and waited and waited. Finally the clouds parted and the first thing I saw was the THRESHOLD STRIPES on the end of the runway as they passed underneath! This crew had done a classic Cat 3 landing! It was about as zero visibility as it gets! The fog was so dense we didn't see the terminal building until we made the final turn to the gate! Talk about admiration and respect for the skill of this American Airlines crew! Mind blowing experience!
Yes, I’m aware I am directly over the wing and it blocks the view. No, there was literally nothing I could do about it. This flight was supposed to be on an A320-200. Swiss, “upgraded” the flight at the last second and I was given this seat without any other option. So, better to have a window than none at all haha. Those of you who love the unique noises and mechanical sounds that Airbus aircraft make will love this one. I knew the “why’d you sit directly over the wing, it ruins the view…” comment was coming soon, so I thought I’d address it now 😂. Enjoy, my friends!

This is my fav seat! Love all the airbus noises so much especially before takeoff and during taxiing 😩😩
No problem with the wing view. I actually love it plus the unique Airbus mechanical sounds. Love watching the plane fly around and through the clouds.
I flew Swiss air back in 1989 great pilot , steep climb, spoke 5 languages to us from Paris to Zurich. Wonderful video thank you.

Great fly! Have you heard Amtrak crash in Missouri? Amtrak's "Southwest Chief" collided with dump truck in rural area with no gate crossing. 4 people died including the truck driver and 150 people were injured so far.

Wow. Those views look quintessentially European. Back in 1999, I had to connect at Geneva going from Casablanca to Amsterdam. I had very good views of the Alps coming in.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to Geneva on this trip, but I hope to on my next trip.

3:55 a European babe sitting all allone there. She is not looking at you because she's got a shitty mobile phone in use. Crazy times.
Swiss is on short / medium haul flights much more pleasant than on long haul flights. Space is all right, food & drinks only for purchase ok but you get some. On long haul you get one meal for free ( LX 40 ZRH / LAX & LX 180 ZRH / BKK ). Space is like in a glass of asparagus. Can't recomend it.
