    Incredibly pleasing how the shadow of the winglet perfectly lines up with the corner of the concrete at 3:48

    YT's algorithm said that I should watch this video, so I did. Lots of good views on this flight. Seeing the Nashville area makes me think of the TV show Nashville. Connie Britton was my favorite person on the show. One day, I'm going to have to visit Nashville for real, never been there.
    Good views coming into IAH. I guess things really are bigger in Texas. Even the cumulus clouds looked bigger!

    Time trip, man. Last time I flew out of BNA, I was a very young helicopter mech in the army, way back in 1994. I really can’t recall any details from that flight, other than I was flying back home to NY City through LGA.

    My biggest complaint in flight simulator was the haze over the scenery until I figured out how to tweak it, but I must admit in real life it's way worse. Bluish hazy scum in populated areas. But I guess it's realistic luckily in flight sim world we can modify that a bit.

      I'm also a nervous flyer, and I've flown many, many times ever since I went on one trip in 1971 that's for the history books! Let's just say that the pilot was absolutely amazing and performed a 4-point landing and safely got the plane parked after extreme turbulence badly damaged our landing gear. It was on one of my favorite airplanes, the DC-8, and we were all in our seats. If the pilot hadn't been a WWII fighter pilot with extensive military training and experience, I don't believe we would have gotten off as well. Two people were taken to the hospital: one from a heart attack and the other, a little toddler with a piece of glass imbedded in her left cheek just below her eye! I then had to get on another flight an hour and a half later. I'm so glad I did, too. I still love flying, and I bring great music along with me that helps me think about so many good memories. I'm a huge Pat Metheny fan, and his music really makes it easy to think about something else. I want to meet him so much, because he's inspired me to pursue my life-long dream of being a professional singer, and I'm working my way to that right now. At 57, I still keep my voice in tip top condition, so when you have something you love to do, that really makes things easier. Pat's been recording and touring for over 45 years, and sometimes, he will do up to 250 shows a year! It's hard work, but when you love it as much as he and I do, you realize that it's all worth the effort. It's also comforting to know that we have the power to still choose what we want to do, and we need to exercise that choice.
      I hope you get to fly, and if you do, happy travels!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 года назад +1

      No, I never purchase travel insurance. For most of what I do, it’s not worth it. I fly so much that I can cancel a trip and just rebook it for later. There are instances when travel insurance is worth it, but usually not for me.

    Have you flown outside of the US much?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 года назад +1

      Not a ton. Most of my channel is domestic US travel. I have 32 flights outside of the US. Some of which were before I started recording flights. That 32 is out of 648 total since I started keeping track in 2010. That all said, you can find some of my international stuff on the channel. JFK-LHR, LHR-ORD, PHL-DUB, a lot of SXM and Caribbean stuff, etc.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 года назад

      @@SimbaC2007 Yes, I do. They're the main videos on my channel. I do them the same way I do these shorter videos. I hold the camera by hand. I record for around an hour at a time, then take a short break. Then back to it again. As for storage. Between the three iPhones I have right now, I have 2 TB of immediate storage. If one fills out, I switch to the next one. If I'm on a trip that's long, I also travel with 3TB of extra storage between my laptop and external drive. This way I have 5TB worth of storage on every trip.

    Is it your first time flying Airbus A320

    • @sla31

      No. I’ve flown on A320’s quite a bit. I’ve got American, United, and Delta A320 footage on the channel here, and I’ve flown on other airlines A320’s as well before I started this channel. That said, it is the A320 series family member that I’ve flown the least. Usually it’s an A319 or A321. Thanks for watching my friend!
