That duos quill is interesting. It depends, whether it uses your bloodgems buffs or not (i.e. quill player). Common strategy in duos is - 1 player builds wincondition, second supports him and builds whatever cheatbuild he can. From this perspective this is great card to support this kind of cooperation and I would love to see much more of this to weaken those "solo players" and encourage teamwork. If you can build strong quillboars for your "carry" with big bloodgems, he can then buff heavily his allies board, which is usually much weaker. If there are no murlocs, often other player has 2-3 cheat minions (poison/leeroy). This will help with that as you can just drop whatever decent minion and get it buffed to the level of your ally, who you invested a ton and will support that cooperation.
Coast Guard technically is a 3 gold card that returns (at a minimum) 2 gold back and refreshes the tavern. So its the same as pressing the refresh button if you're looking for pirates specifically
20:34 The gems are based off YOUR buffs to them. If your teammate is struggling with stats, as is often the case in duos and funnelling a hyper-good board to one person (ESPECIALLY with quilboars), letting your teammate "catch up" in raw stats is insanely good.
If a player gets a lot of buff for their blood gems, and they play them on their duos board using Loyal Mobster I think it will be really strong, since a player can build anything and get a strong scaling every turn.
My biggest curiosity for loyal mobster: who's blood gems get played on your teammates minions? Like, if your blood gems give +1/+2 but theirs give +2/+1, which stats get played on their minions?
I was wondering the same. Because if my teammate’s been feeding my board while neglecting theirs and my bg’s are at 20/20 that could be a great way to reciprocate those losses
It reads as though it should be the owner of the Mobster's gem Statline. YOU play the gems, so they're your stats. That would be consistent with Lorewalker Scroll + Well Wisher interactions, at least.
Educated Collins and SapphireX likes Bargain Bundle. You can potentially discover non-tribe minions like Brann. You get a minion and your teammate gets two. At worst, that is two gold for them. Or you can potentially give them a crucial piece for their build. And as Sapphire points out, you can potentially generate it (from Panda for example) and cycle when doing infinite things.
I think bargain bundle is pretty decent as a duos player. You’re hoping to get one good thing from the discover that would make up three gold if you bought it. You’re then passing two minions to your partner, worst case scenario they sell them to make back the two extra gold but maybe they also get some value. It’s not crazy but I do think it’s good, you should come out even or slightly ahead most of the time versus regular buying.

I’m also pretty sure mobster is going to be silly when combined with div shield.
I like all of the new duo minions because all of them are made to be support, as people are saying in duos 99% of the time there will be one very good big board and one very scammy board or weak board. Well every single one of the minions just help the weak board make the strong board even better. If i already have 2 leroys and poison things why not have 1-2 of fhe minion that can pass for free, play free blood gems, buff my allies, etc. Etc.
bargin bundle is gonna be a decent spell if your teammate is running apm pirates with salty hog, and if your playing apm pirates your probably gonna have alot of money so rolling the shop and sending these to the non pirate player to cast seems really good imo
Loyal Mobster looks interesting. I'm assuming that the blood gems are buffed based on the player that controls the Mobster. When teammates are coordinated, it's normal to pour a lot of resources into a single board, and then build out the second board later. The strategy works because the teams(s) that reach exponential scaling first will crush their opponents., even if all the scaling is on a single board. With Loyal Mobster, a team can double dip a bit. Heavily scaling a single Quilboar board while the second board still get's some benefit.Things could get real nasty if the second board is running a menagerie with strong minions like Blade Collector, Warpwing, etc. If the gems produced by Mobster are buffed based on the receiving player, then it's probably more degenerate because the Quilboar player is basically getting buffed by a Chalgra and Drakari that they don't need to make room for. One board get's buffed like crazy and strong minions can be cycled to the weak player over time via portal, reducing the odds of being scammed.
Bargain Bundle seems good, worst case scenario it's 3 gold discover a minion, pass your teammate 2 gold in the form of cycling cards. Loyal Mobster looks strong, depends on how efficiently one can scale their blood gems with the moon jazzer/prickly piper gone. Since it's on your board, it should be affected by your blood gems and pass that buff to your entire teammate's warband. That's nothing to scoff at.
The way I see gathering stormer is its a corpse refiner that gaurentees a proc each round and gets a kill for at lesst 2 or 3. Thats just good business in my world
DUOS? MY TIME HAS COME! As a Duos main, I’ll try to offer extra commentary. Portal in a Bottle is the only card that’s leaving. Now it’s just additions? Call me excited! Portal in a Fountain can pass Golden minions, but will NOT work with Orc-estra builds… That’s what Portal in a Crystal is for! Bargain Bundle at best goes a little something like this: my Depraved Felfin gets buffs, my teammate gets fuel for their Pirate APM board. The vagueness of the tier is, well… unfortunate, to say the least. If my teammate getting the minions is considered a Pass, though, I might be more intrigued. We’ll see. Shifty Snake is… interesting. On one hand, I’d prefer Battlecry minions; on the other, value generation regardless of effect! Give this Reborn, trigger with Macaw, scale with Rivendare, copy with N’Zoth… seems like a neat way to support your teammate’s APM build. Two-Faced Doomguard is the first tier 6 Duos minion! Great tool for Blood (preferred word over self-damage) Demons, beefy board buff for both teams. I like it! I bet you can get some awesome benefits if your teammate is running any build that benefits from stat increases like Pirates. Selfless Sightseer is the easiest buy in the Tavern while cycling IMO. A Strike Gold! that you can repeat with Murk-Eye? AND you can cycle it in Kalecgos builds? Tell me this ISN’T good! Gathering Stormer looks kinda meh. Getting it from random card generation, though… great cycle. Only problem I see is when you don’t coordinate this with your teammate and they float some Gold when you need it most. Transport Reactor is the dream!!! One player can generate a bunch of Magnetic minions, the other can pass them to their teammate running that other tier 6 Mech… a pretty fun card! What also makes this nice is the fact that Mirror Monster and Jumping Jack are still in the Tavern… which both utilize Passes! Throw this on your Mech in a menagerie build and those extra stats will come in handy. Heck, you could spend a turn prancing in puddles with Puddle Prancer and let those Passes be an investment for this card! Oceanfloor Rummager will be REALLY fun in menagerie! Grab all those bonuses and let the attack stats fly! I see this working best in a Mech + Murloc team, but I hope those Murloc reveals really do make use of those keywords in an exciting way. Private Chef is fun combination of Chef’s Choice and Recruitment Program, now available on a stick! I love the value you can get off of this. The fact that it’s exclusionary means you can dilute the possible outcomes for your teammate, which is great if you find a minion they would never want. Lovely, lovely card if you go for a support build! Wheeled Crewmate is AWESOME. Since upgrading the Tavern is more expensive at the later tiers, this will make later tiers much more affordable! Best to get it chugging for your teammates whose pivotal minions are at the higher tiers. Keeping it as your own Pirate is nice, but giving your Quillboar teammate access to an earlier Pokey is also nice! Loyal Mobster only buffing teammates reminds me of Doting Dracthyr, but if it’s playing YOUR juiced-up Blood Gems on your teammate’s board… now THAT could make things interesting. Maybe your teammate is behind on stats, playing a support build to give you all the minions you need for your Quillboar build. Throw this down when you hit tier 5 and watch your teammate start to slowly get caught up to you! If you go nuts with Blood Gem scaling, this will work wonders. San’layn Scribe looks mighty fun with Magnanimoose. Copy them with Disguised Graverobber and Kel’Thuzad (assuming they return for the coming season), give them Reborn, summon your teammate’s copies with Maganimoose… I love shenanigans. This is a card specifically made for me. Considering Eternal Knight is almost guaranteed to be rotating out this coming season, I think it’ll definitely be the intended stand-in.
From my understanding of duos (me and my mate are around 4k rating so not that great), you would to buff or feed your overpowered team mate to help win more battles, I don't know it might be the reason we are still a low rating
Trigore has a similar effect to Spacefarer but lower tier, the card looks good but feels like it might come too late, hopefully meta changes will allow more tier 6 games.
Portal in a bottle was too strong on its tier really. It made passing a minion from shop 1 gold cheaper and it made things like Orchestra alot stronger by being able to play them multiple times. This is why it was split in two and the part of sending from your own board be a tier 5 spell instead. Loyal mobster depends on whose blood gem gets played. If you have scaled blood gems, then its quite strong, especially since there are more end of turn quilboars you want too
I just misspoke. Trying to make them better then they are! In my day to day I often say things that I in no way mean, but in my head I am saying the correct thing. Not even sure what you would call that issue. It happens so much in fact that when I watch recordings of the same thing over. I do not see/hear the problem unless it is pointed out to me! My brain fills in the blank with what I was thinking at the time somehow. It has always been a issue.
My Pirates perspective looks something like this: Gift Pilferer was much nicer in Duos IMO, Deck Swabbie is still better. Corpse Refiner will be missed a lot. Crow’s Nest Sentry just… eh. Same ol’, same ol’. LAND LUBBER MY BELOVED! NOOOOOO!!!! RIP my Tavern spell builds. Too bad Nalaa broke it real bad. Remember Ice Fisher at tier 6? That was too funny. Now that it sits at tier 4 I miss it a little more. Plunder Seeker is annoying when you need to buy a Tavern spell but you don’t have discounts on the next one to buy. I personally won’t miss it. Didn’t get to toy with Salty Looter enough to enjoy it fully. Sucks to see it go. Record Smuggler’s nerf made it feel weirder on full Pirate boards, but hey… it felt better to start a pivot with it, I guess. Not fazed by its departure. FLEET ADMIRAL TETHYS MY BELOVED! NOOOOOO!!!! RIP the most exciting APM builds that the game had to offer. If only it could randomly Discover a card for the sake of triggering my boy Depraved Felfin… hopefully those replacements are promising. Freedealing Gambler is so back!!! Time for faster Thorim minions again. Peggy Sturdybone on tier 3 is a spectacular change, same with Lovesick Balladist (and its text cleanup)! Gunpowder Courier to tier 4 is a fair drawback to the Peggy and Balladist changes. Doubling its scaling with only a 25% Gold spending increase feels really good. Marauder’s Contract is nice and easy to make use of. Could even grab amalgams! Gritty Headhunter with Brann sounds like some really nice value! Grace Farsail offers a much more interesting Careful Investment opportunity. Good early steal if you’re in the lead! Doubloon Grifter does WHAT??? Oh my goodness. I wonder if she’s the one who found us the Goblin Wallet trinket. Dual-Wield Corsair looks fantastic! Could hit that we saw yesterday. Coast Guard will definitely encourage players to hold on to their Marauder’s Contracts. In fact, I’m beginning to envision a very creative APM build for Pirates with this, Murk-Eye, and that new Dragon we saw the other day… Spacefarer looks like a much beefier tank to replace Salty Looter. Buff your whole board? Big! Flagbearer token build with Eliza? BIG! Salty Hog in the new Pirate context looks wonderful. Excited to see where it takes the tribe! PLEASE LEAVE D TIER!!!
Should of been +2 attack. I just misspoke. That being siad I love pirates so shhh maybe I just am trying to influence the devs into adding the gold also!
Not gonna lie, they've got us in the first half when they removed the bottle
They certainly chose to split it in two cards instead.

THAT is a good question. I have no idea! That is just what they gave me.

With the bargain bundle, it cost 1 gold to pass so I guess the value is that you save 2 gold and your mate gets a free minion
I predict that one of the question marks will be the new minion type Draenei for BG
I screeched when I saw Doubloon Grifter :D

Such a nice video
Duo's takes some patience. Not everyone sees the game the same.
Glad they gave us a stronger peggy
Doubloon Grifter is insanely strong as T4 wtf
Congratulations, though we tablet players aren't going to thrive in this apm meta :/
