- Another video shot at the famed BBC Maida Vale Studios in London on the day of the release of the first CHIC album in 26 years. The only song which was scheduled to be played was "We Are Family." The second song, "Soup for One," was an impromptu start by Nile. "Like a Virgin" was completely unexpected, and you will see that Jerry Barnes, the bassist had taken off his guitar and left--only to return and finish with another great performance of this song.

this NILE IS BIGGER THAN THE RIVER IN EGYPT. ALL HAIL THE BEST RHYTHM GUITARIST OF ALL TIME.
As a guitarist Nile is one of my heroes. I try very hard to sound like him but boy, is it hard. It's his right hand and how he strums that makes him so unique and hard to copy. And the voicings and chords he chooses is really hard to pick up by ear. Heaven for me would be volumes of guitar sheet music for everything he ever recorded. There's no amount of money I wouldn't pay.
It would be hard to calculate just how many people this man has touched and made feel good through music. From Chic in the 80's to Daft Punk in the 2000's Nile has been there with The Hitmaker (his beloved 60's era Stratocaster) and that signature chucking groove.
Love Nile = funkiest man on the planet. Listen to Chic " So Fine " he rips on guitar. He is an incredible player. oNe LoVe from NYC

Toute la finesse du jeu de Nile dans le deuxième morceau Soup for one, " I forgot the chords ?" semble -t-il dire au départ, mais il ne se démonte pas il reprend vite la grille pour nous faire taper du pied avec son groove imparable. I reckon most guitarrists would love to play the bass. I love doing my bass lines on my guitar set on bass effect and I love listening to the tracks with my own bass playing LOL.
@@AugustusAgnosticus As a guitarist I feel comfortable playing on a bass (except the necks) because you have 4 strings. I wouldn't have had to work tapping, sweepping other circus numbers, learning my chords (boring) musical theory in various styles. In a jazz fusion disco funk band ... the bass is essential but elsewhere? there is a primal and simpler side that I don't find in the guitar. Now Augustus wants to hang me with a bass string!!lol
