Took these steps and just finished the install on my mother’s 07 Accord! Thank you!
The people who design these modern cars should be beat every morning at sun up. Having to remove the bumper cover etc is BS.
Yes! My thoughts exactly. Lol
American cars are built the same these days
@@frankbarker1568 but it’s a Japanese car
Great video for replacement of the headlight housings. One step that is not in the video is the bumper cover bracket that is bolted to the headlight housing. Once the old housing is out of the car, there is a long bracket that is held on by one 10mm bolt that needs to be taken off the old headlight housing and bolted to the new headlight housing. This bracket is the clips that hold the bumper cover on right below the housing once your putting it back together.
Wow all that trouble just to remove the headlights, Good one Honda.
How dare they fasten the bumper cover to the car
@@kingalex29339 That does not make sense. Why not just make it where you can take the headlight out without taking the whole damn car apart?
If you are looking to replace just the headlight bulb, please take a look at the owner's manual. It took me literally 10 minutes to change the low beam light bulb through the wheel well. You don't need to take the bumper off for just a bulb.
+R S Thank you for checking us out. We removed the entire housing to provide a better viewing angle, however the method you took is appropriate as well for any DIY'er. 1aauto.com
R S you don’t even need to take the wheel off just to change the light bulb. Just remove the battery. Check out CD’s automotive & repair on the subject on RUclips, here is the link: ruclips.net/video/kQfOkGwbr_o/видео.html
Yeah I just reached in and pulled out the burned out bulb, and reached in to put in the replacement. Didn't have to dismantle anything, just grabbed a flashlight and use common sense.
Thanks
+Brazyfrm252_ Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
Damn didn’t realize how big the headlight was wen I take it out
Hey guys I think prior to installing the new headlights, you should apply Meguiars headlight coating to keep them from yellowing. The product works great and goes on real easy. 👍
Great set of instructions. I did this yesterday in about two hours, but had three issues. 1) the plastic connectors were mostly dry rotted and broke as I was extracting them - I will get new ones so not much of an issue. 2) the 10mm bolts on the bottom of the bumper were rusted so badly that they would not come out (even after a liberal dose of WD40). Had no choice but to allow the surrounding plastic to break. I fixed that by using self tapping screws during the replacement process (not a great solution but it's an old car). 3) after replacing the lens's, the blinkers flashed to fast (almost continuous). The new lens assembly came complete with new bulbs and connectors. Fixed the flashing issue by replacing the blinker connector with the one from the old assembly - not sure what the difference was but using the old connector did the trick...
Howd you fix your fastflashing on your car again? I have that problem and dont know why its happening?
I appreciate you very much for posting this video!! What a huge time saver and, more than likely, not having to replace a bunch of broken parts because I didn't know what I was doing.
Thanks for checking us out David. Have a great day. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Why do they make us have to remove the whole bumper it’s such a waste of time
It depends on the shop. Some shops charge $75.00-$90.00/ Hr. with a 1 hour minimum. It's not to hard to do if you take your time and follow our video. It will save you quite a bit of money. Best Regards, 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Im not sure you all watching this video but this has to be the worst video I’ve ever watch from 1a auto .. guy looked like he didn’t know Wht he was doing
Didn’t mention anything about the bracket under the headlight that holds the bumper cover! 🤦🏻♂️
Even you can replace bulb without removing Front Bumper cover, Just you need small Hand to reach out.
@Katahu We do not. When your headlights become hazed or yellow what happens is that the plastic has broken down. If you buff them out the haze will come back usually in about 5 or 6 months. We sell replacement headlights on our website 1aauto.com with free shipping in the USA. Hope this helps.
Start by removing the engine and transmission then take off all the wheels. LOL.
How do we adjust/aim the headlights. My lights seem to aim too high I want to lower them. How do we go about doing this?
My question also
No, if you pay attention he clearly says that it's not for bulb replacement. A simple google search will show you how easy it is to replace the bulb, not the entire light.
seriously! you have to do all this just to change a headlight? wow Honda...
Went great! Thank you, wife is thrilled with new look for her car!
+Ivy Cadle Nice work. Congratulations on the successful repair. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393
You may want to check to see if everything is plugged in correctly.
show us how to remove from 1/4 panel same year car
There should be an adjusting screw on the back of the headlight.
😂😂 when he pulled the grill out "oh I'm sorry 😭
Stephanie Williams 😂😂😂💀💀
@bboyblare If your looking for an aftermarket HID kit for your 2007 Honda Accord, you may want to try ddmtuning com. They seem to have some nice kits for many different types of vehicles. Hope this helps you out.
can you guys make a video on how to adjust the headlights on this car?
Have you figured it out yet?
Done!
I just installed a set on an '03 Accord. They did not come with amber turn signal lamps, but did have the driving lamps. You need to loosen the screws on the driving lamps to make them easier to remove, then re-tighten after new ones are in. I also suggest leaving the protective film on until the housings are installed. Thanks for the video. Very helpful!
Thank you so much! Saved me a lot of headaches, replaced both my headlights in under an hour.
OMG I watched almost this whole thing, thinking WHAT AN INSANE AMOUNT OF DISASSEMBLY just to replace a bulb! LOL, guess I should have included 'bulb' in my search words.
Thanks for the Show & Tell...now I know why Auto Mechanics, etc. charge some much! All those screws and attachments, ugh!
Thanks for the video.
Is it possible to adjust the aim of the 2005 Honda Accord?
I believe mine is aiming too high and blinding oncoming traffic.
The accord is such a wonderfully designed automobile. Most things are so easily replaced. Almost like lego. My wife and I just replaced our 03 good in 45 minutes. It was brainless. ( Hood. Not good)
Changed my drivers side head light on my 2004 Honda Accord 2 door. This video gave me the confidence to try this repair. Took me about 1-1/2 hours including going back and forth to the video but was well worth it. Could do it again in 1/2 an hour. Thanks so much 1AA-Auto!!!
Thanks for checking us out. Have a great day!
Another question!? Is this good for the 2 door models as well?
Thank you for watching. The process should be similar. Please let us know how the repair comes out!
1aauto.com 888-844-3393
He said, "Ooops!" lol
@lizardrko They should unscrew as shown in the video.
Do somebody know how to fix my turn signal has a problem my right turn signal is flashing very fast but the left one is normal. and it has another problem when I turn my parking light on then front signal stop flashing but the back one is flashing.
@tviesss The bolts that you need to access are located on the front of the headlight under the bumper cover.
@801wvk We'll keep this in mind if we happen to have another Honda Accord in the shop that needs headlights.
So far all cosmetic stuff is fairly easy.. thanks for the vid. You Saved me alot of money!
+Alex Quintella Thank you for the great reply. We love to empower our customers by showing you how-to perform your own auto repairs while installing our high quality auto parts. Have a great day! 1aauto.com
Thanks, Mike! Aside from my rusty fasteners, everything went exactly like the video. The headlights came with low and high beam lamps! That was a plus!
@stalecracka I am showing how to change the whole assembly. You can usually get to the bulbs easier from the back.
We currently do not have a video that shows you how to perform this repair. Usually there are a couple of little tabs that hold them in place.
I have a bulb out on my passenger side 2007 Accord. Like when the high beams go on they work but regular does not work on one side can I replace just the bulb or do I have to do the whole headlight change?
I have a 2005 Honda Accord Coupe v6 and am about to put new headlights on it. Do I need to worry about the airbag sensor?
The headlight that was on the car already didn't even need sanding, all It needed was a polish lol. Mine are very hazed up so that's why I'm replacing mine, but that's a waste.
I want to change my headlights but my car has been in an accident where we had to fix the front end, do you think it’s a risk buying new headlights? i’m scared they won’t fit, but my one headlight is cracked
Great video. I just replaced the headlights on my wife's '04 Accord. The video made the job go much easier than it would figuring it out for myself.
Thank you for watching. Please let us know how the repair comes out!
1aauto.com 888-844-3393
I did mine today. Not only opened it up but also cleaned it nicely by using toothpaste. It's was a great experience .
This video was the reason I purchased the replacement lamps for my wife's Accord through 1A Auto. Nicely done guys :)
You may need to have to go to the dealer for that part or you could check your local salvage yard.
The replacement light I got had round tabs, and the hole in the fender was oval.🤷♂️
bought colored bulbs and one broke in the headlights (took headlight out to let it fall out)
so wet day wont stop me i didnt take whole bumper off just bottom bolt and fender screw then pride back for reveal bolts
What is the plastic piece called that the emblem is attached to? I just ordered a new emblem because I smashed into a truck hitch but I think I need that plastic piece as well.
What a great help! I will reward you by buying my new headlights from 1A Auto. I so desperately need new to replace mine asap, I can't see a darn thing while driving at night!
+carlorocky Thank you for your order. If you would like to leave us a review on Google it would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to our reviews section. Have a great day! goo.gl/i5JFNY
Those two little phillips head screws, what do I do if they just spin endlessly when I try to unscrew them?
Why the hell do I have to put my car on a lift take half the front off to replace a light bulb...??....
Can I replac my headlights with LEDs for better light.
I do a lot of small auto repairs, but day-em, I can't do this. Things I'm missing:
a lift
time - I have a few things to do in 2020 and this would take at least 3 months - for me -one hour of disassembly and months to regret I started this
remembering every screw and the order things were disassembled (maybe shoot a video as I go?)
finding a repair shop to finish the job
You think I'm kidding? I've done a lot, but the most important lesson I learned? Some jobs are best left to pros
+2011littleguy Thanks for checking us out. 1AAuto.com
I'm going to try it out
Thankz honda
What if you’re only replacing one headlight assembly? Do you still have to take the whole bumper off?
@jdeleon1j You're welcome. Have a great day!
@4drek Yes the headlights are same for the Honda Accord coupe.
Thanks dude, bout to change my mother's lights
Just replace mine my goodness what a ridiculous design
Has no clue what hes doing..save us time and money..lol
Thank you for watching our video on RUclips! Have a great day.
So you need this lifted up just change the headlamp ?
Anyone know the paint code from that Honda in the video
I remember my 62 Merc Meteor. Unscrew three screws holding the headlight on, pull out and replace the whole headlight. Put back in and tighten three screws...
Is there a way to align the headlights? One of my headlights appears to aim slightly higher than the other.
+Dipen Chauhan There are adjusters on the backs of the headlights to adjust these.
if its this big of a pain Ill replace both bulbs at once.
I think I’m going to restore my headlights 😂
Thank you 122132345667789907864x lol
+Jaquavis Moore Thanks for checking us out, glad we could help! 1aauto.com
THANK YOU! A friend wanted to do this and never watched a video. Wanted to borrow my whole tool set!
Looks easy peasy thanks again.
When doing this take time and buy some new plastic screw anchors (CLIPS) that he says to take and pop off with a screw driver as like mine the weathering of these made them brittle and unusable again. Just makes this easier when actually doing the job. Was very useful info though and this did save me a lot of time, much thanks 1A Auto Parts!
So if I'm correct he broke the back of the headlight housing trying to take the clip for the wiring off!
I wished this video was out when I had my 2003 Honda Accord. I needed to replace them and this would have made my life so much easier.
Thank you for video, we were able to do it ourselves and save $$. However, I had a brake light bulb out so we replaced all 4 bulbs. Now the fuse keeps blowing, we can't find anything wrong. Any advice?
I detail a mechanics car of 50 years. I told him about you guys and I told him to order new headlights .to make the car look brand new. He was like a kid on Christmas when he seen the new headlight how crystal clear they are. Thanks again. Now I know how to put them in cause of this video. You guys are the best..
Just looking at my Gf car. she has none of those plastic pieces anymore lol.
Mike I changed just the headlight bulb (low beam) on 2006 Honda Accord EX. Different way's to do it including battery. But the manual say's to go thru the wheel well. Which I did in parking lot of apt carport. Unlike manual's description it was a pain in azz. As I had remove 7 clips on wheel well. You turn the tire all way to right on driver's side and vice versa passenger side. Pull back cover and slip hands thru well get to bulb. You have to lossen 3 screws get bulb to turn to come out.
Cool video, maybe a rehearsal next time,,’oh im sorry ! the bracket is backwards’ lol
Take out the headlight, put it in a real car and drive away.
+Eric Oakley Thank you for your feedback
Thanks. Everything went exactly as you stated. A lot easier than i expected.
+Mike We're glad the video helped you out. Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com 866-403-3393
the screws on the plastic shield under the hood will not come off. we tried everything
Am i the only female who had to do this for herself? 😢
Yes
I did this yesterday, but figured it out as I went. Wish I'd seen this first!!!! Doggone front turn indicators don't work now! Thanks for mentioning you can replace the bulbs without going through this rigamarole again. I think the replacement headlights might have the wrong bulbs in the turn indicator spot. The rears now flash really fast and the fronts don't work.
@uzair javed You may need to replace the bulbs of the lights in order to fix the flashing problem.
I have a 2005 accord and I ordered a pair of headlights from you guys. It arrived in three days with free shipping . Followed this video and voila! Saved me a couple hundred bucks. Thanks 1A Auto!
Thank you for the great reply. We love to empower our customers by showing you how-to perform your own auto repairs while installing our high quality auto parts. Have a great day! 1aauto.com +Jojo Padulla
Why don't you just read the manual and go through the wheel well? Only a 10 minute job and the only thing you might damage are some plastic push pins that Honda virtually gives away?
+Royal T'u This video shows how to change the entire headlight assembly, not just the bulbs
Thanks you saved me money
For the 2000 Accord it is quite easy:
1. Remove the electrical connector from the bulb by squeezing the connector to unlock the the tab, then slide the connector off the tab (use a flat-head screwdriver, if needed). You may have to remove the radiator reserve tank if it is in the way.
2. Remove the bulb by turning it 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
3. Insert the new bulb in the hole and turn it clockwise to lock in place.
4. Push the electrical connector back onto the bulb all the way.
5. Test it!
Great Video. Only Question I have is that I am not going to replace the headlight with the same kind of headlight. its going to be another brand off of your website. Will everything still work fine with the install???

Hi, I changed the headlights but now the daytime running light doesn't turn on. It only blinks when the indicator is on. What can be the problem? I checked the fusebox and the day light doesn't have a fuse in it. Could that be the problem?
When I was a teenager, I would have loved to do all this. Now that I'm retired, I don't see it as 'fun' or educational anymore - just work. There are many other projects waiting around the house for me, though.
The older you get, the longer the list becomes....
Great video, my girlfriend has they Honda accord and asked me to change out her headlights, after watching me change out mine on my 2006 Dodge Ram in about 10 minutes. I looked up how its done wow great video.
I'm going to tell her, throw away her accord and buy a Dodge Ram. lol

Good video, I had the same problem with some of the clips on the underside of an '04 and the 2 10mm bolts being rusted on, I'm not sure I had to remove all of them to get the bumper cover off enough to get the headlights out though. Need some new clips but otherwise it all worked. Oh the two philips head clips on the top outside of the bumper cover were wrecked too and a drill was some help with them, but really just a flat screwdriver prying them up was fine.
Thank you for watching! Glad to be of help. Let us know how the repair turns out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Thank you so much for this video. I purchased two new headlight assembly from Service King and in less than a year they started to fade. I purchased a new set off of ebay for $80. I went back to Service King to have them install and they refused to do it because it wasn't purchased through them. I went to another shop and they wanted to charge me $150. I finally build the nerve and did it myself thanks to your video and the disclaimer of not being afraid to remove the bumper. I really appreciate you and all of the you tubers who take the time to make helpful videos. You save me time and money. Screw you Service King!
