    • @ericredmond4660

      @@jasonwilliams2852 I bought a maxtrac kit that had brake lines lift spindles and rear shackles. I bought all Moog front end parts all ball joints tie rod ends and energy suspension a arm bushings top and bottom for truck. I put it all together and I have 5 inch lift in the front and about 2in in the back I need to get the back up higher I don't know how to do it. I think that I need to weld on shackles to the rear axle to get rear axle under leaf springs instead of on top of leaf springs. But the find a shop that will do it is very questionable. Maxtrac lift did work good in the front Perry don't know what to do. I'll post my solution when I find the answer. But I think it is performance four-wheel drive shops that will just do the flip kit for you you need a flip kit on this because putting longer Shackles on the rear end is going to make for a while a rough ride. It's either that or longer leaf springs that are arched so the truck is up higher. People telling me an add a leaf will do it as well but I think it'll be way too stiff. I'll post my answer later the problem is they don't make a Fabtech lift kit anymore and I've researched it and they just they don't make it anymore. Jack did it back while ago and it isn't available anymore it's what's on the video. It's an injustice to us as 10 drivers that we can't get a flip kit no more for that rear end to raise it up. Lee's everyone's have to go to a shop to put a weld in purchase on the top of the axle so they can put it

    I did my 02 S10 blazer 2wd last year with a 3in. Body life, lift spindles with upper ball joint spacers after moving the ball joints under the control arm's cause I also had a 2in spring lift in the front and with flipping the rear axle and the 35's I figured that I had somewhere around 10 to 12 inches of lift, and it drove great, oh I did have to get a little longer driveshaft to be safe. I wish I could post pictures.

    So I am going to be hopefully getting a 94 4door 2wd. I went to the drawing board immediately on what I'd want to have done.. I first thought that I wanted to do a 2wd conversion to 4wd with no knowledge on what it would take to get there lol. That idea quickly went out the window after doing some research. Does lifting a 2wd drive give any advantage for it? At this point I'm now on the fence if I want to do a clean Street truck or still go with the off road/ overland direction - with maybe a 2-3 inch lift and swap for the OEM 4x4 style Jimmy/Blazer wheels and some nice alterrains - what's your thoughts on a lift on a 2wd when it comes to advantages? Thanks

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  4 года назад +2

      Your truck will look good no matter which way you go. Lower or raised. I had no use for a lowered truck. I go off the road quite a bit. You do have to be careful when going off the road with a 2wd but I use my head to keep me out of trouble. Build the truck for the way you will use it. If you never go off the paved roads then a street truck look would be awesome. I little lower with good street tires. It will handle better than a lifted truck too. Good luck with your build.

    Bump:: if you flip the bolt itself it doesn't bind up when aligning the axle again,(I barely remember but flip them so they're facing up in the pack not down I think)and I paused it but I hope you end up welding the "new perches" correct pinion angle among tightening everything up is very important as I'm sure you know, if it's a parts runner ya might be OK with just tacks but as I read you go off road quite a bit, welding the new perches is 100% required for those beginners thst may be reading this, you CANNOT rely on the ubolts holding everything together, and believe it or not I've been asked "where one can pick up a pinion angle!" Lol just get an angle finder and the tailshaft should be around-2/-4 ISH, the angle of your pinion on rear end needs to be opposite so it lines up your Dshaft. ESPECIALLY if you haven't gotten a 1 pc steel DS and still have the factory "3 pc" with the very weak joints all over it(thanks GM) anyways good video again..ill hit play and pray you welded this kit...ALSO JUST MY OPINION! Not hating on any of it, I wish more people shot their work! How's the 20 year old kid supposed to learn without doing right? And multiple videos can give them ideas...wish this stuff was around when I was still wet 'hind the ears , ill tell ya that!!

    Easiest way to remove those rivets is use die grinder and cut cross slots in the head and then air chisel or hammer/chisel. Then pin punch or small drift to knock out remaining.

      I didn't use factory rims although the factory rims did fit before I got my new rims and tires. I trimmed some of my upper control arm when I got the bigger tires. It wasn't hitting the tire but was very close. Didn't want to chance wrecking expensive BFG tires. Here is the video: ruclips.net/video/H31u9qQTKAM/видео.html I need to get spacers or I should have gotten rims with a little less backspacing. That would eliminate the problem completely.

    i Like your video, only way bolt on lift kit. on a 2wd chevy S10, But there is a big injustest, on this. I saw your video and decided to lift my 2002 2wd, truck. so i got a maxtrack lift spindle kit with brake lines and shocks, with lift shacles for the rear. I noticed before I bought parts that one offered, the rear end flipkit , fabtech ft 7268-8. I have called fabtech about this part but it is no longer offered, discontinued. Problem is I LISSENED TO YOU. you said in your video that a person did not need a flip kit to make, truck level out. now i nave a truck that is lifted with the front way higher the the rear. and no easy way to raise the rear, and no shop will touch the rear end to raise it to level out truck, I woulder now how to level truck. NICE VIDeo ! I spent over 1000 dollars so far. what next

    • @ericredmond4660
      @ericredmond4660 4 года назад

      @@mossman381 the manufacturing company that made my kit is called maxtrax. Bought new spindles shocks brake lines shackles and rear shocks . Came in the kit. The problem now is the Friday in got about a 5 inch lift from this kit. I replaced all front end parts and put Moog Springs in the front. Put the shackles in the shocks in the back in the back only got about a two and a half inch lift . so I need another two and a half inch lift in the back. I used the shackles that maxtrac supplied in their kit Suspension is stiff. I wouldn't want to put a taller shackle on there because the one I have on there is pretty long. I believe I put it on a longer shackle on there, ride would be unruly stiff. I believe I need to do an axle flip on the rear to get the right suspension hide and ride. Involves welding new shackles on top of axle housing Arrowhead which no shop wants to do. I'm very surprised that you replied back to me. I wonder how to level this truck out. I sure would hate to have to take the lifting spindles off. But it might come to that. Thank you once again. I'm surprised you replied!

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  4 года назад

      I reply to most comments and am always willing to help others. Do you have a link to the kit you used? 5" of lift on the front and 2.5" in the rear doesn't sound right. Usually the kits have a similar amount of lift so the vehicle is close to level. A shackle won't effect the ride. It doesn't change the spring rate of the leaf springs. I longer shackle or an add-a-leaf lift for your rear springs. The add-a-leaf will make your suspension stiffer.

      Sorry I don't have time right now to look up my maxtrac part number and what not at the moment. Preciate your help. Who else makes a flip kit? I need a flip kit to get me that extra two maybe three inch lift in the back. Here's a picture of my truck and I'll came out. I put news Moog stock Springs in front. And all Moog ball joints tie rod ends everything's new energy suspension polyurethane bushings in a arms. Here's a picture of my truck! Looks like I can't send you a picture of my truck but I thought I could. Who makes the flip kit for an S10 2 wheel drive tell me buddy please.?!

      As far as I know you can't get a flip kit anymore. I found a MaxTrac 3" lift kit for $697. According to the what I saw they only put a 1" lift shackle in the kit. That won't be enough. If you did use a 1" lift shackle you need a longer one.

      It's not actually "flipped" its just repositioned. Axle sits on top of leaf springs. You're just putting the axle under the leaf springs which obviously raises the ass end up higher. The axles is approximately 3.5 inches so by moving it from on top to underneath is how you get the 3+ inches of lift.
