      @@SalvagetoSavage It was a great fit. Going to Nashville this Thursday to inspect the 67 El Camino Friday. Tried 6 different companies that do Classic Car inspections and came up empty handed. At under $20K I don’t think I can get hurt. See you as soon as she lands in Florida.

      @dave5833 As a licensed mechanic and huge elcamino fan, for under 20k ??
      If it's a good solid body with no massive rust or full of body filler you can't go wrong. I always wanted a 67. I've had a 59 and a 68. With any old cars that I'm doing any level of restoration, I always look a trim. Is it all there and in decent shape ? Some of these trim pieces are just ridiculous in price or just not avaliable. Sorry, I wasn't trying to butt in. I was just adding my 2 pennies for what it's worth.

      @@Enter-a-name55 I will take a magnet with me and have a 23 point inspection list for Classics. I tried in vain (6) to hire an inspector/appraiser with no joy. So I’ll just give it a go. She has a 383 Stocker (100) miles same on the automatic transmission. Paint looks decent and relatively new. I will find out more this coming Friday so cross your fingers for me.

    • @Enter-a-name55
      @Enter-a-name55 Год назад +1

      @@dave5833 I hope it turns out in your favor Dave. For me personally, I would ask if he has any paperwork/ receipts to back the claim of it being a 383. Not really a deal breaker if it runs well bur you want to know what your working with. That old girl is gonna have drum brakes on the front. In 67 disc brakes were an option with the SS trim package. They had 4 piston calipers. I recall only ever seeing one set on a car. Very rare option actually. If you don't plan on leaving it stock, disc brake conversion. Best thing you can do with those cars.
      Good luck. Keep us posted. Curious how you make out with it.

      For now we just cut away the fiberglass, I didn’t want to go cutting the leather up. Joey (the owner) is doing his own stereo system so I might just whip up some little trims (grills) and let him cut it out if needed

    Anyone else notice the PVC plumbing fittings? Maybe invest in a 3d printer for the next one. 😂😂😂

      So charge the customer for multiple hours of designing and printing fittings that function the exact same way as the PVC fittings he will never see? Doesn't seem too smart!

    Kick panels instead of cutting the dash wound have been nice

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  Год назад +1

      You mean cutting the fiberglass dash pad? There is no where to add kick panel speakers in the truck. One side is taking up by AC lines (bulkhead) and the other is our relay/fuse panel. And anyways that’s what Joey wanted.

      @@SalvagetoSavage believe me I understand. I used to install car stereo. They may have been a little intrusive but I just would hate to see that gorgeous dash pad cut. Keep up the good work! 👍

    I like everything except the roll bar. Looks to skinny. Should be made with bigger tubing.

      Man sorry to hear that, to be honest I think the size is perfect for this truck. And it’s different then all the rest of the off the shelf ones you see.
