+Ken Trapnell These are NOT speed rated tires. I've only had them up to around 50 mph or so and they seemed fine. I have taken some other non-speed rated taped tires up to ~70 mph, though. I wouldn't recommend doing that too often though. A set of GRPs or SP Racing 1/8 scale tires is ~$40 and MUCH safer.
+rhouse21 - RC Physics thanks heaps for the reply but all good. I've got a set of sweeps I might use for up to 70mph and keep these for parking lot bashing. At least the tape will keep them together longer. Can't get the GRP's to fit without swapping the front end over to pillow balls and sweep have the only GT wheel, I know of, with the larger 84mm internal diameter. Are there any other options for belted tires with a larger wheel than GRP's for my GTB?
+Ken Trapnell You have a couple of other options. You can try SRC Racing tires. I've seen these tires clock just under 100 mph without ballooning. www.srchobbies.com/ You can also try the SP Racing or GRP 1/5 scale belted tires. A lot of people are putting 1/5 scale tires on 1/8 scale cars now, but you will probably need a custom hub adapter to make them fit your GTB. I hope this is helpful.
These are very fun to throw the cars around on! You just have to think of them as "disposable." They may not be the best out there, but you cab have a great time without feeling bad about melting more expensive tires. Thanks for watching!
I'm not sure on that. Putting lettering on tires is usually something that the scalar community would do, but there are not many 1/7 scale cars out there to drive a market for such a product, so there are not very many true scale options. You might consider contacting a guy like Lamont on the Bashers United channel who can make letter stickers for you. Then you can have any type of letter design you want.
have 4 sets of these. one on OFNA 1/8 buggy. about 70 mph. the others are on ECX Amp MT, DB and Circuit. had to get wheel adapters. none of them do more than 50 mph. these cheap tires are good for them. taping and gluing keep mine from ballooning.
I haven't driven these over ~45 mph, but I'm not shocked that they held up at 70 after taping. I've spun them up on my bench are they are surprisingly good at "moderately fast" speeds after being reinforced. Thanks for watching and for the great comment!
+treeroofgrass Nope. Inverting the tires will cause them to end up "crowned." Watch this video where I explain my technique. ruclips.net/video/_HFKbyuGKFQ/видео.html
+WIG SPLITTERS RC At this price, I almost look at these wheels & tires as disposable. If I get few good thrashings out of them, I'm pretty happy. You're right though. I mentioned in the video that these were pretty light-weight, so they really don't feel very strong. But, they seem fine for low-speed, smooth surface, parking lot bashing where you keep it to 30-40 mph.
I would be hesitant to use the term "best" on any $20 set of tires 😉, but these are pretty good. I also like This style. www.ebay.com/itm/4PCS-17mm-HEX-Tyre-RC-1-8-On-Road-Car-Buggy-Foam-Rubber-Tires-Wheel-Rims-85B-803/321252668411
Thanks for the info. Got exactly the same set with the same tape on my Hobao GTB. Nice to now they'll hold up when I gear for speed.

Great tip, but do you where can I get some off the shelf mounted XO-1 tires with white lettering, I'm not much of a tier rebuilding guy.
Thanks

did you invert the tires to apply the tape?

rhouse21 - RC Physics yup they will be perfect for that thay do great burn outs also lol
Do you think these are the best on-road tires for under $20 for a buggy on 4s lipo?

@@RCPhysics ok thx, I just want some tires to mess around with on parking lots while not feeling bad about burning the tires up
That's exactly why I bought these. ;-)
looks awesome
+RC Performance Studio Thank you!
good looking combo. and the price is right. lol.
+2cwik4u104 What can I say. I like cheap. ;-)
you and I both. lol.
Good tip
+Noeys fastrc Thanks!
ground clearance is too low with those tires😀
They work fine for me tooling around in a parking lot. The XO-1 isn't set up for anything bumpy. 😉
