- 2022 brought us the all electric 2022 #Kia #EV6 from Kia here in the USA. This brand new vehicle was crafted from the group up with an all new All #electric platform that gives Kia the ability to make vehicles like the ev6 with the FAST possible charging 350 amps!
In this video we go over the entry level 2022 Kia EV6 #Light in RWD. This vehicle has a ton of features for the entry level and gives customer the ability to save a few thousand dollars over the Wind trim level and get less features and less range.
Is this EV6 a better buy than the Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y, or Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Let me know your thoughts and also let me know which trim you think you would get in you were to get the EV6!!

Just adding this info here for potential Light buyers, I tested mine with a Dragy 10Hz performance timer and got 7.4-7.5 seconds 0-60. Quarter mile in 15.6 seconds. 0-30 mph 2.76 seconds. It can often be hard to find performance data on more niche models like the Light so hopefully this helps prospective buyers. I find the power to be quite sufficient and the car certainly moves with authority due to the instant electric torque. I usually leave the house with a full charge showing 247 miles of range, so it seems pretty easy to get the EPA stated range in this model.
Finally a video on the light trim! Thank you, I've been waiting for someone to cover this.

@@TroyPaul16 does the dynamic sounds while accelerating come in all models and Does this sound omit on the exterior while driving
I just got one @ 42K & no markup! 240 miles is pretty good for me for daily commute and don’t forget I will get 10k back next year IRS and state tax rebate! I love this car
Congratulations. Do you know if those tax credits apply to finance or lease as well? Or do I have to pay upfront to be eligible?
@@maidulhossain9348 7500 ( finance only) of it is a federal tax credit rebate and the rest must be a state incentive. In NY State the Light qualifies for 2000 off up front lease or finance
@@TheFruban thanks for your reply. So let's say I am getting a $500 refund from federal, in that case will the $7500 be added on top of that making my refund $8000 ? Or does it apply as credit only if I owe the IRS ?
@@maidulhossain9348 credit only
Which dealership did you go to?
Thanks for doing this review! I just put money down on an incoming Light for all the same reasons you mentioned at the end (as opposed to a Wind or GT). All the bells and whistles that come with the higher trims weren’t worth the thousands of extra dollars for me. The Light had all the important things like good range, fast charging, smart and adaptive cruise control, and still pretty fast for electric.
Loving my EV6 Light, same color as in the video. I find the power to be quite good at lower speeds and adequate on the highway. Same torque as any of the 225hp RWD models so it moves really well at lower speeds. It weighs 300-400lbs less than higher trim RWD models as well, so its quite peppy off the line. The DC fast charging is just insane honestly, 650 mph makes it the fastest charging EV you can even buy. Even with its smaller pack, it can still charge 10-80% in 18 mins just like the other EV6 models.
It is a collector's item now too since they only sold it for one year. I can't tell the difference visually between the Light and the Wind but I don't think I have ever seen a light on the road.
Someone should add a "very nice" counter
Would be nice if you told us what it doesn’t have vs telling us it comes with a steering wheel and leatherette for free! All I know is it has a smaller battery…
no ventilated seats in the "light"
Thanks for doing a review in the light trim
No the wind is
Very helpful - just changed my order from Wind to Light
hi how long u need to wait for the car~~~
Is there ambient light on the light version?
Nope.... 😅
The ev6 light is a collector's item now.
How does the sound system compare to the more expensive trims? How does it sound?
It's okay. Good clarity and stereo separation, but at loud levels the very bottom end distorts noticeably. Anyone into EDM or Hip Hop will be pretty disappointed. I wish I knew if the amplifier section is separate so it could be improved with aftermarket add-ons.
Wow, pretty loaded for an entry vehicle!
Appreciate the review! In case it bothers others as much as it did me and helps with subscriber count, you said “here and there” maybe 100 times. 💯 mean this in a productive way. Keep going dude
I wish he would just show off the inside of the car a bit more instead of going off on a tangent about really small things
Is there anyway to avoid dealer markup?
Is there a way to make the doors automatically unlock without using the remote on the light trim? Does the light trim have the led light line on the front of the dash? Can this vehicle tow? If so what weight capacities? Im really interested in this car.
You have to press unlock on the remote if you want the door handles to pop out. This trim and the wind do not have the ambient lighting inside, only gt-line and gt same with the sunroof. They can all tow only 1650lbs.
I wanted you to pull the sticker so bad.
Does this trim have power liftgate? Want to see a video of the manual liftgate
Nope. Manual only, but it moves pretty easily.
@@ChrisWhiteAuthor do you happen to have a video of the opening and closing operations
@@lzeng604 I don't, but there's a button both under the door and on the key fob that pop it open, and it's well balanced enough to lift pretty easily. There's a handle on the inside of the door that you grab to pull it down. Again, it shuts easy enough for a typical adult.
@@ChrisWhiteAuthor would you happen to know the 0-60 on this trim?
@@Frost-ng4hi About 8 seconds. The Wind is 4.7 and the GT is supposedly 3.5. I test drove a Wind and when you punch it, it's like going in a roller coaster.
Does this car have blind sport camera shows in car?
No
Probably has an audible blind spot warning when you hit the blinker to change lanes if the safety system is anything like the Niro EV. Also indicator in the side mirror.
@@TheFruban Right on both counts. No camera, but a warning (audible, steering wheel buzz, or both) and the car will gently try to steer you away from a side object. You can override the car's nudge if you want.
