I'm not sure about your criticism on weak arc tbh. Frieren's arc is stronger than most shonen out there, including trendy shows like KnY, MHA, AOT
In El Dorado arc, it's been hinted that the demons had contingency plan to keep their race survive even after Demon King's death. That's a big plot point, bigger than a simple journey to heaven, which by itself would have been fine either way. Frieren is not your typical shonen, it doesn't need or require twist, mystery, drama to function as a good story, not that it lacks any of it.
I think you misunderstand between edgy characters and complex characters. Himmel, Heiter & Eisen are definitely more than meet the eyes, and we'll be supposed to learn more about them as we follow Frieren. The author is putting us in Frieren's shoes in this case.
Regarding the Priest Sein and how he just disappeared from the story, I'm just gonna quote Himmel: "A tearful farewell befits us not. After all, a reunion would be most awkward". We'll be seeing him again.

Maybe I sounded a little harsh, but yeah it is better than any of those and I still like the current arcs, they're just not as good to me as the beginning of the series or some of my favorite shounens. I never called any characters edgy, just think they've been simple so far which isn't a bad thing, maybe theres more to them later but idk. And yeah it is very likely Sein comes back, but i've been waiting for him to come back for 2 years lmao.

@@Zyhius About Sein, I think that's just the author's message. Don't dwell on anyone, just walk your path. If you're destined to meet again, you'll meet again. If not, then it was still a time well spent nonetheless.
I didn't expect to meet the mage who supervised the first exam again or Denken so soon, and their stories were overwhelmingly touching. Will they ever appear again? I hope so, but even if they don't, it's fine because they already left a piece of them in my mind.

yeah one of the best newer series out right now, very much enjoying the series even if the later action focus isn't quite as good
I agree about the art when it comes to action (I'd be a bit harsher even, sometimes they're more like marionettes than fighters), but I'd also note that I think too many characters are often too expressionless. It makes sense for Frieren who's lived a long time or the demons as it's in their nature, but even many of the normal human characters are too stonefaced.

Yeah that is true, it didn't really bother me too much other than a few serious moments where characters(asides from Frieren) had blank faces, but the art isn't mind blowing by any means.

Real fighters are stone-faced when they fight tbh. Don't expect everyone to scream and laugh like kids like in your typical shonen.

Fighters do show some expressions like if you've seen Anderson SIlva or like any UFC fighter, they're not always completely blank, usually they look quite focused, but the fight scenes to me isn't where the expressionless problems were, usually it had more to do with the other scenes of grief or joy.

@@Zyhius some fighters show expressions, but they don't normally yell or scream during fight.
And we've seen mages show expressions in the manga, e.g Series, Macht, Solitar

@@sleepylion9788 I'm not referring just to fights, even in many slice of life moments the reactions from some of them are often too subdued. Also I read a variety of manga lol, you're in the wrong channel if you think it's just typical shonen here
