  • Today (in the longer first video of the month), I talk about the recent conversation I had with three middle-schoolers on a "job shadow" day when they wanted to come learn about philosophy! A huge thanks to Liam, Parks, and Atticus for joining me! We cover questions of ontology, philosophical method, and also moral theory.

I love how you are including and empowering youth. AND, how you are inviting us old people to keep wonder open in our lives.

what a great time you had with the boys! awesome!
i think you may have to do 2 separate streams of videos - 1. more technical and 2. more inspirational. ha!
you do both well and we all benefit from either.

I really like that the 2 become one here. I’m certain there are many of us who accidentally (and maybe even against our wills) end up watching and being challenged by the category we would normally avoid simply because the video has already started so “I may as well see if there’s anything interesting in it.”

Hey Larry, Agreed, I do wrestle with how to navigate the feedback I am getting from folks. Moreover, with RUclips having changed their algorithm, my views have dropped precipitously. So, I will keep doing the videos, but definitely see more potential for expanding the audience and inviting more folks to do some public philosophy. Hopefully the two will create a feedback loop such that the Substack drives folks to RUclips and vice-versa. We will see! Thanks so much for your constant engagement. .It means the world to me.
