the ori arc was the best arc in sg-1. if sg-1 had not got cancelled, the ori arc would've continued and there would've been no point in releasing the ark of truth, but obviously the saga had to be wrapped up to give the viewers at least some closure.
one of the biggest diappointments in the ori arc was that when merlyn's weapon was sent over to the ori galaxy and killed the ori, nothing of the events taking place in the ori galaxy was displayed. we got one puny indication some time thereafter that 'the flames of celestis have gone out'. but come on, anyone rooting for sg-1 would've wanted to see the flames being extenguished, or at least the looks on the faces of the priors, including the doci, in the city of celestis when they saw the flames go out. moreover, since the series was cancelled, a lot of events had to be smoshed into a few episodes, however thanks to the 42 minute gametime allowed per episode made it impossible to finish the arc, hence the making of the ark of truth, which to be fair did not explain many happenings either, so the rashness and illogicality of the events soon to follow created waaaay to many loose ends.
unlike the goa'uld and anubis arcs, the ori arc was never really brought to a finish, and due to the rashness of events displayed on screen, the ori arc was made into a ridiculous saga. im not sure about the doci and the priors but the orici surely derived her powers (her life energy) straight from the ascended ori, after all the orici was given birth by the ori, which means if the ori really were destroyed by merlyn's weapon, the orici should've died, yet she still lived. also, another pathetic thing was that despite the ori having been destroyed, the crusade continued, and the intruduction of the ark of truth is pointless when you consider one simple thing; at the beginning of the ori arc it is stated that it is indeed the ori who ascend their followers, and in this belief the doci, the priors and all the followers of the ori spread origin via their intergalactic crusade, not fearing death because they knew that if they died, the ori would ascend them, but since the ori died and the flames of celestis were put out, who would ascend the believers??? so with the flames going out, even the most deeply believing priors and the doci should've have seen how meaningless their crusade became.
so much potential was wasted on the ori arc and so many meaningful parts were left out. still, my favourite arc :)

''im not sure about the doci and the priors but the orici surely derived her powers (her life energy) straight from the ascended ori, after all the orici was given birth by the ori, which means if the ori really were destroyed by merlyn's weapon, the orici should've died, yet she still lived''
because she herself is an ascended being, as much as a human can be. if she was a fully ascended Ori the ascended Ancients would have stepped in and eliminated her. this is the reason for her creation and the reason why the Ori didn't invade our galaxy themselves.
''also, another pathetic thing was that despite the ori having been destroyed, the crusade continued''
this was deliberate. the writers explained that there was no way to convince their followers that their gods had died. most of them would never have seen them anyway, how would they know? this is something that was lacking with the Jaffa as well. even with the Goa'uld dead a big number of them should still believe in their gods.
''at the beginning of the ori arc it is stated that it is indeed the ori who ascend their followers''
sorry, but no, it was clearly stated that the Ori don't share power. they actively work against the ascension of their followers, this is why they keep their followers mostly primitive and force them to worship them. this worship adds to the Ori's power. Self-knowledge and personal growth are requirements for ascending. and for that, you need free thought. something the Ori do not allow.
''since the ori died and the flames of celestis were put out, who would ascend the believers??? so with the flames going out, even the most deeply believing priors and the doci should've have seen how meaningless their crusade became.''
      not to a fanatic.
its hard to convince an extremist their way is wrong.
you also assume their reaction would be to accept the Ori were false. that would be very hard, a great number of them would continue simply because they don't want to believe their gods weren't real. they might fight even harder, hoping they would return. after all, perhaps the gods abandoned them for not being true to their word. or perhaps they do accept they were all dead. you assume they would then be peaceful. yet, what if they wanted revenge for their murder?
killing the Ori was a big gamble. much like killing Ra just gave Apophis more power and his downfall meant the rise of Anubis and when he was gone? Ba'al took over.
"Those who abandon the Path are evil."
"Foolhardy are those who do not follow the Path."

any show can end in two ways:
they end because the story is over.
or no more episodes are ordered and then the show is cancelled.
      SG-1 is the latter.
the show got cancelled after its 200th episode. with only 14 episodes left, and already in production there was no time to finish the Ori arc as planned. 'the Ark of Truth' is what season 11 would have been squeezed into a single movie.
most shows don't get movies after they were cancelled, this is thanks to how popular the series was.
SG-1 is very unique, it was cancelled three times. this first time was when Showtime (Seasons 1-5) cancelled the show after 100 episodes, yet the show was then picked up by Syfy (seasons 6-8) after the 8th season was supposed to be the shows last season with a planed ending. Syfy ordered two more seasons (seasons 9-10) then they cancelled the show.
however MGM didn't want it to go and so had two movies made ''the Ark of Truth'' and ''Continuum'' more movies were planned, sadly they cancelled them ending SG-1 possibly forever.
most shows aren't as lucky as SG-1, Stargate Universe got cancelled after just two seasons with a cliffhanger.

I would have much preferred a story like this instead of Ark Of Truth.
After Adria ascended in the episode 10x19 'Dominion' she realizes that the Ori were a fraud and it was in fact the Doci and the priors who continued their crusade.
But I guess SG1 was always about evil gods so well.

The alliance would definitely give a fair fight against the armies of the Ori though we are talking about ships here that cut through a fleet of Goa'Uld motherships, an Asgard O'Neill class and two BC304 almost effortlessly. It would entirely depend on how many Ori vessels the Federation is facing.

thats how it will go the krill would be no match for the ori hell even the kaylons would fear the ori with the kaylons being the most advanced race in the orville series. but a fleet to fleet battle the Kaylon may actually struggle with the Ori! the issue with the ori is they are a race who built there ships by having a singular limited firing arc death weapon capable of destroying planets suplimented with some mediocre particle blasters.
if you avoid the hyper beam of death weapon you could effectively wear down the ori shields and kill them but when they are in large numbers avoiding the ori particle beam will be hard if not impossible yet potentially with some tricky manuvering you could trick the ori into some nice friendly fire situations lol but this would have to be done with small ships like frigates or destroyers designed for manuverability not sustained fights.

it proves the ori are not all powerful and against a race who would see the ori was a major priority target for assimilation they would not last long especially when the borg realise its only dangerous aspect is the front gun and how it has a limited firing arc they would simply move the ship to a safer position and begin assimilation tactics knowing its strongest aspect would require the ship to turn to use.
also in the battle of the gate the borg would have hoovered up everyone and everything in doing so the borg would have become a threat far worse than the bug replicators in no time.
