Oilers defense is significantly weaker. They lost both ceci and broberg. Massive losses. They need to upgrade defense , they will not make another deep run without adding D
@@steverogers5956Desharnais is ass. Broberg barely played, and Ceci though he played a lot of consistent minutes, was a source of weakness on defense. With the ability to upgrade with the cap flexibility, and giving guys like Emberson a chance at success it might not be as bad as you think
@@austin888peters Desharnais played a ton of PK minutes, as did Ceci. Broberg was a less-known quantity, despite a good playoff run. These were not dominant top level players, but we still need to see whether any of the replacements are even as good. There's a lot riding on Emberson, who has played all of 30 NHL games. Stecher and Brown are more depth pieces. I expect to see a move for an established right side defenseman at the trade deadline, even if it iakes some gymnastics to make the cap numbers work. In the meantime I hope the forwards can score plenty, because they may need to.
Agreed. A right shot Ekholm would be very nice.
They grow on trees right?
