Thank you so muh for the review!!! Love how its in the snow its nice to be able to see how it might be for our canadian winters. Its so annoying when they are all on sunny dry roads. Please keep up the greate work!!
I sure enjoy off-roading it mine. Handled the blazing heat in Death Valley over the summer to zero degree start ups during the winter in the Eastern Sierras while averaging 40 plus mpg.
Im torn between blue and Kona Coffee. I have driven blue VW last 12 years, as my brother, and always my favorite color. However I love the brown that Honda and VW brought the last two years.
I have the 2014 Civic Coupe ex-L and I love it!. I just wish the seats were more comfortable. I am 5.10 and sometimes when driving to work my neck hurts, but other than that I love it and its great on gas.
Paola Romero Have you adjusted the headrest position? Probably you are not using it in the correct position. I have a 2015 Civic and it is very comfy for me...
wtrdogg20 Lots of people have complained about the seats of the Civic, it doesn't work for everyone unfortunately. Here's how I buy cars: Test drive them and if I like it a lot, I'll rent one for a week to see if it actually works for me during my daily routine.
WuWei Xu I did not like the seats in the new Fit... But in the Civic, I got no problem, considering I am used to the seats in my CR-V 2000. Well, too bad not everybody feels comfy in the Civic.
Hello, I have a civic 2011 Ex and I am thinking to change it. I drive part in city and part highway everyday am divided I would like to know which one should I get the civic 2014 or the Crv Ex. Both are amazing, civic has amazing updates and crv has not the same gadgets. Please, help me out to make my mind. Thanks
Benjamin Reynolds Never buy the Dart! I'd take a Corolla over it. The ride isn't great, the transmission is awful and the engine is less than adequate.
WuWei Xu I just drove a Dodge Dart for 2 days as my car was in for repairs, the dealership gave me it as a courtesy car... it was HORRIBLE, you could feel every single imperfection on the road (where in a Chrysler 200 you just glide over them). The Civic in my opinion is much better, my friend has one and they are roomier than the competition and not "rough" like the Dart!!
I have a 2014 EXL Sedan. I used to have a 2013 Civic LX. The gas mileage was much better with the 5 speed automatic over the CVT, regardless of the wheel size. Its sad that they put a CVT on it and it gets worse mileage than the automatic. He said he was averaging what 27-29mpg with the 16 inch rims and a CVT with mixed driving? Versus the printed gas mileage- sorry but that's realistic and Honda lied about the gas mileage on the 2014-2015 Honda Civics with CVTs. IDK about the new ones though.
That's a nice BEAUTIFUL BLUE color on that car. Not very many small compact cars have a nice blue like that. Subaru has the WRX in blue, Versa comes in that blue, Ford Focus, and this Honda. And the new 2015 Elantra GT will come in that blue, but that's about it, no others.
cmrtscherer All cars except good AWD/4WD cars NEED snow tires. Even an M4 survives pretty well in the snow with snow tires. With AWD, you can be safe with a high quality all season rubber (Based on experience and other's don't throwold bullshit knowledge at me old folks)
Great review Dave.... luv my two Hondas... 13 Civic Ex an 13 CR-V..Ex... ive owned my Civic for a year now an really don't have a lot to complain about...i do wish Honda would give the consumer a choice between the 1.8 an the 2.4 engines on the EX an EX-L models not just the Si... that would be great for those of us who prefer a Civic with a little more bite.... how do you compare the CVT with the 5 speed ? Where's Superman an the Everywoman driver ? :-)
I am considering the 2014 Accord EX-L but since I am a solo driver almost all of the time with no family, perhaps the 2014 Civic would be a better buy for me, though its lack of power, trunk space, and less back seat head room compared to the Accord concerns me.
Doug Celeste i traded my CRV for a 14 Accord EX... luv it!! but the Civics are awesome also..... i bought my son a 13 Civic EX an that's also a very nice car an he luvs it! i am also a solo driver... sorry Doug that i wasn't more help...lol ...
David James Thanks for your comments, David. Much appreciated! I currently own a 1998 Camrey and while it has been overall a fine car for almost 17 years (and 119K miles), my 1986 Accord LX is still the BEST car that I have ever owned of the four (and I will be 61 in July). My concerns with the Civic are that it will be too small for me and my passengers inside and lack power, esp. in the mountains when I drive. The Accord EX-L is pricier but bigger with more room and power. So as of now, I may check out both cars at my Honda dealership here in NM where I now live and then make a decision.
Dave I love your reviews, But why must all your car reviews have to be in the fricking snow? Some people like myself live & drive in the south. I live in New Orleans we never get any snow, or not enough to drive on. If you want to do a real car review show come down from the peaks to New Orleans and drive down here. I'll even buy you a poor boy. If you even know what that is?
Everyman Driver Car Reviews This is why I unsubscribed :)) Everytime someone asks or complains (either way) This channel just says "Go to a dealership" instead of actually adding something into their reviews. That's the reason Reviewers are a thing man. Simple things like these are suppose to be in a "DETAILED" car review may it be video or in text people are better of watching something like AlexonAutos or something. Now sit back and wait for them to come up of a lame response/excuse.
Mejevoli Totally agree! On one of his Civic videos I said that I didn't like how he advertised his sunglasses in the middle of the video and he gave me a pretty cheeky response.
Everyman Driver My wife always gets the fob out to open the trunk or the door, force of habit I guess. Being able to just walk up and get in and go without fooling with keys is one of my favorite features of our Civic. It would be nice to go over the S mode when driving one of these new Hondas also, Thanks for posting your videos.
I have had a wonderful 2002 VW Jetta TDI since I bought it new. I am buying a civic for now, and a MK7 in a few years, hopefully in a wagon or "four door golf". I test drove the LX 5spd and Jetta S 5spd back to back at a dual dealer, and I was pleased with the civic, its more efficient and faster. But the VW even with the updated 2.0 still had the classic won't stall low end torque. When I tested the civic I only stalled it once, and it was me parking it or something like that. The clutch is real short and soft. But whatever, I am keeping my TDI along with the civic(has been rebuilt basically, with RC Stage 5 tune and the 17/22 turbo, have at least 170 hp and 320 tq and 42 mpg no matter how fast I go. Keeping that baby, just tired of spending the money needed for 13 year old car. (even though it has a 30k old turbo and brand new transmission). Any other LX 5spd models?
I think the civic is one of the most uncomfortable car ever. I remember being in my friend's 2012 civic. Each time I get out of his car, my back hurt like hell. The seats are ok for 30 minutes rides but after 30 minutes you have to switch position every now and then.
You should try sitting in the 2013+ Nissan Sentra. HORRIBLE seat. Feels like you're sitting on a hump. Shame cause it's the one thing I hated about it when I had a rental for a week. Otherwise I really liked it. Wouldn't even consider buying one cause of that damn seat though.
***** Yeah I didn't like the raspy 1.8L engine either. Very unpleasant sounding. But I liked the car in every other way (aside from the horrible seat noted above). I didn't find the transmission jumpy at all. In fact I found it much smoother and predictable in operation than the CVT in my '12 Versa sedan, which behaves in a rather unrefined manner. Ironically, the engine in my Versa sounds much better.
FAKE: Gosh, after reading your comments about the uncomfortable seats, perhaps I should consider an Accord instead since I do cross-country drives at times and the last thing I need is an aching back on a long trip. Anyone else agree or disagree with FAKE about the seats? If so, please let me know and thanks for your input.

RayzaBlayz So what. It's COMBINED MPG that counts unless you park your Civic on the side of a freeway off-ramp and walk through the city. Another person on Fuely reported 31.2 which is the BOTTOM of the EPA numbers. I do agree the front seats are comfortable but i'm hitting my head on the back of the headliner & on the top of the rear glass. I'm just about 5' 10" mostly torso.
This car is now a joke next to the new mazda 3. I have loved the honda civic for the last 20 years but the latest model (even with refresh) is such a disappointment. They have taken their customers for granted and they will pay for it. 2014-2016 as all 3.
Thank you so muh for the review!!! Love how its in the snow its nice to be able to see how it might be for our canadian winters. Its so annoying when they are all on sunny dry roads. Please keep up the greate work!!

Great thorough review for this car. Looks like it handled well in the snow!
I really like that blue color! Looks sharp. Nice review Dave!
Thanks for all the good content :)
As someone who lives in Florida, all I could pay attention to was all the snow. How can people live in that weather? 😳
How can people live in a place that's humid as fuck 10 months out of the year?
The Ex-L has the heated leather seats- I thought it was a useless gimmick until it started getting cold around here
Impressive, great review Dave!
Im torn between blue and Kona Coffee. I have driven blue VW last 12 years, as my brother, and always my favorite color. However I love the brown that Honda and VW brought the last two years.
my sentiments exactly! :(

Guess I dun goofed when I got the LX.
Yea… still a great a car though
Good work! Keep it up man!
Hey first time watching crate reviews you went over all the most important details on the car thank you so much
The sunroof is nothing new, the EX models always had one.. My 2008 LX even came with one!
Winter tires or just using the all season?

hey Everyman are you using winter tire in this video or just all season? Thanks
Probably AS… it’s been a few years since I did this video.
are those all season tires?
"You have four 'oh blank' handles." Precious.
heyy the intro is the same song as liza koshys intro song lol
Isn't the Dodge Dart in the same class? I wonder if you test drove the Dart and how does it stack up to the Civic.
So I guess you haven't driven the Dart. What about the Civic? Have you driven the new Civic?
Benjamin Reynolds
This is a civic.
Benjamin Reynolds Never buy the Dart! I'd take a Corolla over it. The ride isn't great, the transmission is awful and the engine is less than adequate.

Everyman Driver @1:53 there are 3* ways. They FINALLY added a button on the trunk under the chrome on the right side! :) #psilovemycivic
Not on all trim levels. The LX level doesn't have a release button on the exterior - only interior release and key fob.

Yea that’s about what I get I can’t ever average 30 in mine I’m thinking I need a new fuel filter or pump
How much is this car because I want to purchase one

Hello Dave. Great review. I think this 2014 Civic have some button in the trunk lid (in the licence plate side) to open it.
I have the same car and theres a button on the driver and passenger side door that locks the car when you get out
My 2011 is horrible in the snow and can't control over put holes even. Any suggestions, will putting snow tires on really help ?
No. Only better traction. Which is 10x better.

Can someone explain to me why the Civic's windshield wipers are like that?
it might due to the long window design. a conventional set up will not reach

why does he have a california plate and it's snowing badly?
