My older brother recorded an entire album for RCA back in '73 at the same studio where this was recorded (RCA studios, NYC). "The Jean Genie" was also recorded there. 19 years later, he was introduced to Bowie at another recording studio in NYC during one of the sessions for the 'Black Tie, White Noise' album. There's more to this story, and it's all true.
To all you young people looking at us old men and women we are invisible now but we had great lives loves and the best music we were the luckiest generation
I remember thinking exactly this when videos started emerging - how was he always so ahead of everyone???? 1973 - what's a video film? 1979 - Oh, that's a video film!!
Two lovers try to make love and romance but are corrupted from watching too much porn, in a world after an apocalyptic event. The actress in the video turns her face away from the camera to protect her modesty while buddy ( an actor she does not really like ) makes love to her. A bit grim but very poetic.
One of my favorites! His voice is one of the best things I've ever experienced in my time on this Earth.
SmallvilleFan311 Absolutely! Aladdin Sane is brilliant from start to finish.

To all you young people looking at us old men and women we are invisible now but we had great lives loves and the best music we were the luckiest generation
Be not invisable.
Only invisible to those who aren't looking. Always visible to each other though and that's all that matters
Alan, let me say... you're so freaking right. 🍻
this is so much more than a song for me - it was a feeling, a state of mind...
Listening to this song during the strictest lockdown in march/april 2020 was quite a weird experience...
Damn i wish i know this song where they reign over the music industry
Video films - years before they took off
