    Send the injectors to FIC. They’ll Ultrasonic clean it, flow test, dyno flow chart and they’ll replace the filters and seals. It doesnt have to be fic brand.
    This could be a bad fuel regulator tbh. but injectors usually needs servicing anyways its a maintenance. Ill say do it as precaution. My injectors were getting stuck over 6krpm and I sent it to fic. Its $25 each for all the testing cleaning and restoration.

      Didn’t realize it didn’t come with a sock. I don’t think that’s enough to make it run like that though

      @@MiguelDsm Yeah usually they’re sold separately. Could be one of the reasons why you keep frying them though. If that strainer is deteriorating or is dirty from particles from the gas tank it could get sucked up in it the lines and pump.

    Oh shit, you just happened to go through exactly what happened to me, you see, that sock filter was fully clogged, I had that in my red Eclipse and managed to kill a walbro when it started whining like that, because she was building too much backpressure and started overheating until she had the bearings messed up, and just last week my brother started to had the same in his SRT-4 also with a walbro, since then I have several of those sock filters just in case, they are cheap and better replace them everytime you have the pump out and they are looking greyish.
    I happened to suspect that since some of your VR4 videos a long time ago, but didn't comment on it because I wasn't sure my self, but now I'm 100% sure, also check your other fuel filter too, just in case.

    these cars are supposed to run at 43psi of fuel pressure. I would absolutely check the fuel pressure regulator as well for your bleed off issue. might as well bump it to 43psi just to see if it changes anything. i bet your gsx also runs at 43psi. 36psi just isnt enough. Hope you get it working soon, my brother has a 92 vr4 3k and its cool to see your vids about them! I have a 1992 galant vr4 that I am getting back on the road soon, will start posting vids once i get it running.

    Mine had similar issues, turned out to be the MAF. It would lean the car out crazy and caused it to sputter and freak out similar to yours. I'd also check the TPS, you should be able to see if its reading correctly with a laptop (as you have a flashable ECU) it will give you a reading and show your % as you move the peddle. You want to make sure that the ECU is reading that you are giving it throttle, and adjusting the fuel trim appropriately. My guess is its the MAF though. Try unplugging it and see if that changes anything. Start simple and go from there. If the MAF and TPS are good, but its still running lean, with a new pump and all that, I'd check the fuel filter (just to make sure it's not faulty and somehow clogged) and redo the flash. Recheck the values the flash is tuned for, want to make sure it has the correct fuel trims you are looking for. Good luck and keep us posted! Not enough 3000gt content out there now days.

    Could be a faulty fuel regulator or leaking fuel injector. If there is no fuel pressure after ignition is turned off, and/or you see the pressure is bleeding slowly. It might be an injector. Have you checked your oil for gas smell? Have you looked at your plugs? I know the rear are a pain to check, but at least you can start removing possible problems.

    • @MiguelDsm
      @MiguelDsm  9 месяцев назад +1

      Injectors and fpr are brand new. I’ll check the smell of oil

    • @jasonprince8655
      @jasonprince8655 9 месяцев назад

      @@MiguelDsm Well, this is a good thing. Less items to check. It seemed that once you began getting on the throttle is when the engine began to bog down. I am still thinking that the problem may be fuel related. You have changed the fuel lines to braided steel lines? I do not see lines like those crimping. Maybe a bad connection somewhere that air is being sucked in and the system is not being fully pressurized. Then again, you would smell gas. Either at the back of the car or toward the front. But it may be a small leak somewhere that you may not be smelling it. Just a thought.
      Fuel tank sediment may have entered into the lines. You did say the car sat for some time.
      The other item is fuel pump which you just changed. But perhaps the pump is not getting enough power and is turning/pumping slower than it should. Check the power wire coming back to the pump with a voltmeter and check if voltage is in spec.
      These are all just thoughts.

    I usually datalog when I’m having an issue like this. All the data you can see while it’s happening will help tell you what’s wrong. When my maf was bad I could see the airflow signal drop on the datalog. If your tps is bad you’ll be able to see that too. Hook up your wideband and a fuel pressure sensor to the ecu so you can datalog those parameters as well, will help diagnose any other issues in the future.

    Check the fuel power supply line, I had a similar problem in my AE86 and I asked for a kit for the pump power line and it was solved. What I think is that when you change the fuel pump for one with greater power, it consumes more energy and the lines get hot and the pump fails.

    I think your injectors or fuel filter is plugged up with something. But considering it loses pressure right away I would look at the fuel filter, if that was plugged then the pump would have to work hard to push through it and once off the pressure might purge off into the return. Also the sock on the fuel pump looks pretty gross and might need replacing along with the tank. Love your car, it is sick and those of us with these cars, it is a passion. I bought mine destroyed by a kid, new long block, rebuilt the turbos, , rebuilt front suspension with tierods, ball joints and struts, That is hilarious that trim fell off, I just got my car running and was doing a short interstate test and that ripped off those clips and was hanging by the fluid line. Just working on keeping it on the road, next I lost my clutch and think it just needs to be bled.

    I have walbro 450 and you can hear it from behind when car is running. If you have fuel pressure and it is not dropping out when revving car then i would suspect something with injectors. Whether it is the resistor pack, bad connection, or dead injector. Even though you replaced them doesn't mean they are still good and working. You cannot build fuel pressure without flow so if you have pressure then fuel is flowing.

      Also make sure the AFPR isn't a bad diaphragm. I've realized over time the quality of fuel rends to cause some slight corrosion and would cause the ball not to seat properly (though mine wasn't aeromotive). All AFPRs usually do drop to zero, though some take longer.
      Pinch the return line as you shut off and see if the pressure holds. if it still drops fast, pinch the feed as you shut off and see. That may better tell you if it's injectors.
