Really nice to see the knife finally make it through. Entertaining video as always. I have a silly suggestion: A pebble moving at 4km/s (half low earth orbital velocity) hitting the front of a Maus at 45° coming from the sky. Iron is pretty abundant in space, so whatever iron you can simulate that you feel is the closest to meteoric iron. If modeling an irregular pebble is annoying, just use a sphere.
i got an idea for the next one maybe like cloud strifes sword or the comically large spoon out of titanium like the fork in this test at say 1000- 1250 meters per second vs an abrams or some other mbt love the comtent btw :D

Really cool videos, thank you. What's the fastest speed the software can simulate? Would it be possible to do a few simulations of extreme speed lightweight projectiles e.g. 10,000km/s plastic BB Vs. steel plate?
is there a way to restrict they edges of the armor so the don't bow outwards? given that in real life conditions there would be armor surrounding it making it almost impossible for it to expand in that way. im curious if that effects penetration at all
I'm new to this channel and don't know much about the simulation, but how about seeing just how much armour, can the perfectly shaped projectile at the perfect speed can be penetrated and how much of it the simulation can handle
Can I ask how to do wear analysis in ansys? And also I can't figure out how to set the simulation time (end time/time step), can you help me with this? Thank you!
If you are still taking suggestions, I would love to see what one of those WW1 anti-tank rifles could actually do. Especially the German one that had what appears to be a regular 8mm bullet on top of an absolutely huge case, that must have been the fastest rifle caliber bullet ever shot out of a man portable rifle ever!
Hey, I'm interested in this and I'm wondering whether the i9 13900k or 7950x would be a better option for simulations (on this level, the software and the hardware for advanced stuff is extremely expensive). It's solely about which one gives me the best results in simulations and rendering!
In my experience, ryzen CPU’s perform better in rendering tasks, but I’m not sure about the newer intel chips, since they have P and E cores, and I haven’t been able to fully test my 5600x on these simulations due to the student version limitations of I think 2 maybe 4 cores, I don’t remember which. But anyways, 7950x should be better, but I certainly don’t have the money to confirm that lol.
all Ansys, has a modeller and a simulation part, the student version is free but limits the mesh to 128k particles iirc, so you cant do very detailed simulations, but i think what you see in the video is around that limit, maybe less
Realized I didn’t put this on your most recent video so here I am again. How fast would a .22 caliber round have to go to penetrate one inch of steel body armor?

bunker buster missile versus Maus armor or Sturmtiger armor (bunker buster missile as in a missile that can make the lids of ICBM silos go kaboom, and the ICBM too if the lid is weak enough or thin enough, basically just a plane-launched velocity bomb made to destroy bunkers and whatnot.)
Make some bullets hitting each other from different angles. You can also try different calibers or a small one hitting a big one. Could even be it's own video.
