Ugarte a year ago turned down Chelsea for PSG for ridiculous salary and now Manu surely match it or increases it probably. So what is it? Again, just money. Overpaying and chasing the hype as usual. Nothing is changing. Ashworth has nothing to do with it.

I thought Paul Mitchell’s interview came across very well. He spoke very passionately about his role at NUFC with an air of confidence.
He already has a great understanding of the needs of the club at all levels. He seems very positive about short, medium and long term goals with a desire to build a stronger squad across youth, women and men’s teams.
Imho he seems like the right person for the job. Another great video Alice thank you.

@@geordiedog1749 yep he definitely said all the right things but that’s just media training isn’t it. Like all things in life actions speak louder than words so we will have to see how things unfold with hopefully some significant signings. All in all seems like a great replacement for ashworth. The main thing is that the Club are moving forward in the right direction. Hopefully the Club will reveal their plans for the expansion of SJP in the coming weeks/months so that we can embrace the new look of the stadium however that transpires. Personally I hope they don’t go with anything less than a 65k seater stadium. As any expansion should be a statement of real growth imo.
I'm very confident after listening to Paul Mitchels interview. He sound just what we need, and he has started with the injury crisis already.

Is Chiesa not a LW, rather than RW? I'm sure he could play there, but I'd rather a specialist in that position.

I still think we need a creative/attacking midfielder, someone who can unpick the lock of a tight defence or low block, yes they are expensive but I think we are lacking in that department and it showed last year as well as the players missing through injuries. The Paul Mitchell appointment excites me and who he has already brought in as performance analysts already I think we are heading in the right direction behind the scenes
We still have yet to see what the dynamic between Bruno and Tonali will be. Both can be more defensive or attacking
We have 2 ,but we don’t have an out and out defensive midfielder.
@@nathanthomson1931 oh I appreciate that but as you’ve said they are either attacking or defensive and having midfielders like Willock or Joelinton missing for long periods didn’t help us last season either. I just saw too many times the lack of a killer pass or a final ball just wasn’t there against sides who went defensive. Tonali will be an interesting one to see and I’m sure the training last season while banned would have helped their understanding of each other too

I do believe if Barcelona manage to sign Nico Williams, we have a decent chance of getting Raphinha for RW position. He has EPL experience, so transition wise would be smoother as opposed to someone like Chiesa. 3 Brazilians in the Newcastle team. I like the sound of that!
Raphinha would be great but I doubt we’ll destroy our wage structure for him. He’s on roughly 200k a week.

Do you ever think why didn't nufc pay 34 for z or 52 for y. If United are paying over 3 and 5 years isn't that adding to the 900 million dept? My sums say an extra 62 million at 8%. Won't that come back to haunt United in a future window?
